Dr. Shapiro did shoulder replacement of my left. Primarily because I have arthritis he did a reverse shoulder replacement. You can see a lot of this on YouTube by other doctors, etc., but I have done all the exercises that physical therapy taught me when I was attending them sometimes two times sometimes three times a week I did exactly what Dr. Shapiro recommended me to do. I took very little pain medication because I did what he told me. I have complete faith in him and I would recommend him very highly. His staff is wonderful. The office is clean and organized. Dr. Shapiro, talked with me like I was VIP. I have absolutely no complaints and have your questions written down before you see him and leave space between so you can put your answers. I never felt rushed when I was in his care.

Is this a real person or a robot? Maybe a puppet for the insurance companies? I don't know who I was talking to just now at my appointment. I've never met anybody who cared less about me. No advice for how to take care of my shoulder. Just saying, I should suck it up because there's nothing wrong with it. Even after a year of not being able to use it. When I asked him, if it's OK to push it then and use it in sports even if it causes me pain, he had no response to that. He couldn't have cared less.

Physicians sometimes seem to forget they took an oath to ease suffering. Yes, the pandemic caused PTSD for the medical community, but if you can't do your job step out of the way. I broke my 4th rib at the sternum early this year and have a high level of pain still. Internet says I should be fine by now. I'm a responsible guy so I go to a doctor instead of the internet. Shapiro whose job is bones and muscles says proudly, "I just do shoulders and arms." Literally refuses to even answer questions or provide what medical knowledge he has bearing on my problem. Is it nerve damage? Is there a broken piece of bone floating around? If so will it go away? Can it be treated? Am I doing anything to make it worse? I'm not a doctor, I just want information. No answers. I am left feeling I did something wrong by even asking or I am trying to scam information out of him. Two stars is generous.

2/18/20 - I liked Dr Shapiro a lot. He explained everything in detail after reviewing my MRI and gave me my options for my problem. I was able to have a Cortisone injection which I was happy about. I had one in October from my general physician which wore off pretty quickly. I would definitely recommend Dr Shapiro.

Dr Shapiro delayed a proper treatment for my broken scaphoid. His first diagnosis was a simple wrist sprain and to come back in a month if it doesn't change. What he should have done is assume the worst and place a cast on it. I obtained a later diagnosis from another doctor and he told me that I needed surgery because of the delay. The surgery had decent results, but was not perfect. Had I been placed in a cast up front, the chances of recovery would have been much more promising. Not recommended.
