The Stage Stop Inn is a great place to stay in Patagonia. It may be the only place...but it's still good. This isn't a 4-star hotel in the sense that it's luxurious. It's definitely not. It's a been around for a while and that shows. It's a 4-star hotel because it's almost perfect for what it is. It's a place to stay while in a relatively remote area of southern Arizona. It fits right into this small Arizona town.I stayed a week. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. That's all I needed. I'll be be back next year.

You won't find anything fancy in the Patagonia/Sonoita area, but this a one of the better places to stop and rest for the night. Rooms are spotless and the bed is comfortable. The restaurant is ok...

Low on luxury . . . extremely high on comfort. The Stage Stop Inn is a comfortable respite spot while traversing the trails and desert beauty of the Patagonia area. The motel is a throw-back from a spaghetti-western era - complete with brand insignia tiles in the lobby. Low-key, clean, super friendly staff - and a great location to launch adventures in the hills around the area. The bar/resturant offers a wide variety of food items, including fantastic guacamole and cold beer on tap . . . all enjoyed on the patio era adjacent to the pool. The locaiton and simple ammenites of the motel all come together to create a really awesome place for vacationing, gravel riding or trail running adventures. I will definitely be back.

Stage Stop Inn far exceeded our expectations! We were absolutely thrilled with this place! I thought it was going to be, let's say "rustic," because, well, I don't know, maybe I had a preconceived notion that "historic" and "rustic" would mean "run down" or "not exactly modern." No, no, no, not at all. Now, we stayed in a great room (the John Wayne Suite) and I'm sure that makes a lot of difference, but regardless, this place has a LOT to offer. First of all, I thought the service was outstanding. I had made a few phone calls and sent a few emails in advance of the visit to make sure I knew what amenities the room offered and a couple of other questions, and they never seemed put off by my questions and were friendly and helpful in answering them. The service we got here - even though we only stayed one night - was also outstanding. I liked that they had an ice chest in the lobby downstairs (in our case, the room was upstairs on the second floor), and the lobby was really cool. Historic is definitely an accurate word. It's fitting. Find yourself feeling like you're in the old West. Very cool! And even the walkway upstairs that joins the building with the lobby to the building with the rooms is great! Somehow they manage to preserve the historical ambiance with modern amenities (no we weren't here for business by any means but you could actually use a little business area - who expected THAT?).The room? FANTASTIC! The quite isn't the only room with a water cooler, but don't overlook what a nice touch that is. You could stay in a really fancy upscale hotel and you might have to pull teeth to get a bottle of water. But stay at the State Stop and drink from cooler (drink it, drink it, be one of us! - just joking about the cooler). I'm serious, that's really a nice touch.VERY comfortable bed (a little on the firm side but that's how we happen to like it), a huge living area (television in both the living room and the bedroom, and a really NICE big flat screen TV), with a comfortable leather sofa and nice table with local magazines, very appropriate and excellent furnishings/local art work. And believe it or not, plenty of USB outlets by the beds and by the desk below the television. I know that may not seem like a big deal, but again, I was thinking rustic so no way I would've thought we could plug devices into USB ports so easily. And nice hardwood floors, as well as a cool rocking chair. Also - plenty of closet space, a really nice bathroom with good water pressure and nice absorbent towels (and even a heat lamp I think for when you get out of the shower), and pretty nice bath amenities, too! Can't wait to return, and we WILL return!

The Stage Stop Inn is a quaint piece of history. We stayed here while traveling back from a fishing trip and I was just giddy taking in the cozy western theme. As you walk in you are greeted with well maintained wood and western decore. They have a second floor sitting/game area that reminded me of a cute country cabin. This area was stocked with lots of books for those who enjoy reading materials, board games and a computer/printer combo for those who enjoy the country relaxation but still have a little work to do. They have a pair of comfortable patio chairs at each room entrance so that you can sit and take in the relaxing surroundings. There are cute little cliff swallows all around which are a sight to see. The sound of a water foufountain running in the courtyard against the chirping abundace of birds who call the lush trees of this facility home made the experience nearly therapeutic. They have a pool in the courtyard as well and though I did not swim it looked well maintained and inviting. We ate dinner at the attached restaurant and the food was great. It took a while to get our check but over all it was a very enjoyable experience.

Me and my friend Brittany stayed for the weekend 6/10 to 6/12/2000Staff was very friendly especially the house keeping employers. Room was very clean, cozy and comfortable. I loved all the birds, peaceful sounds and being able to enjoy the cute lobby! My grandpa raised his family in Patagonia so we love being able to visit this town and stay at the stage stop inn.

Stage Stop Inn is a quaint spot in the heart of Patagonia. It's more like a motel with Southwestern charm. It was surprisingly quiet too! I would say that this place is more like a three on Yelp, but I'm giving 4 because they have water dispensers in every room! That's literally unheard off. You don't even get free waters anymore at the Ritz. This is really awesome and I hope they don't ever get rid of these, especially for out of state visitors who tend to underestimate our desert heat and end up with severe dehydration.Other pros:Located in the center of town. This was perfect for us as we were in Patagonia celebrating a birthday where copious amounts of wine were consumed, so being walking distance to the inn was required for our group. Free wifi, storage for bikes, a pool, a library/game/office area on the second floor. Coffee makers in each room. Their cancellation policy is great too (24 hours). We booked 4 rooms, did not need to place a deposit either. The flexibility is greatly appreciated.Areas that could use improvement:Sheets/bedding are on the cheap side. It gets cold in Patagonia in the fall/winter, especially at night. Booking online, check-in and check-out were super easy. If you're heading to Patagonia for bird watching or outdoor adventuring this is a really convenient place to stay overnight.

We popped the trunk of the car and a man lounging on the park bench in front of the hotel, enjoying the day's warm sun said, "be careful, you may not want to leave! I came hear years ago too, and never left." Patagonia has that effect and there is just something about these historic little old west hotels that keep bringing me back. So much charm, personality and style. We stayed here three years ago for a wine festival in nearby Elgin and went straight back to it when we decided to go to the festival again. At the last minute I also realized that my dog, Hank, would also have to come and was wonderfully assured that the place is dog friendly in certain rooms. They even have a big treat jar by the check-in counter. We ended up with a great double bed room with a kitchenette. It had great new appliances, a full-size coffee machine and of course, wine glasses and a wine opener. I couldn't get enough of the fantastic quilts they have in every room of all different colors and themes. I'd love such a quilt for my own room! There is just one thing I'd change - the sheets could be softer. Maybe I'm a linens snob, but I love soft sheets. Luckily they're covered by genuine quality quilts that are great to snuggle up in. As someone mentioned earlier there are water dispensers in each room which I made full use of and good coffee provided in the room (and extra coffee and creamer in the lobby in case you run out!). Speaking of impressed, the bathrooms not only have shampoo, conditioner and soap, but they provide single packet make-up remover wipes. And guess what I didn't bring with me this trip? Make up remover. I was so happy to find these waiting for me in the bathroom. I'm really impressed with the organic soaps they offer in the rooms. They smell fantastic and are soothing for sensitive skin. After being out in the wind all day I was glad to be able to relax in cute bathroom's bathtub with all the added little extras. You really just can't help but fall back in time a few years at this hotel, and the second you walk out the door in a sleepy town that hasn't sped up much since it's horse drawn carriage days, you can forget about the worries of the wide world and relax in Arizona's wine country.

The rooms are unique, spacious. Having a water cooler in the room is great here in the desert. Rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable. The pool looks sparkling clean. I really like the western style throughout the hotel. Definitely will come back.
