My husband and I had a lovely anniversary dinner at Stables. The setting is gorgeous, the entire staff so kind and attentive, and the meal was delicious. The seafood dishes were outstanding. We can't wait to return!

We had dinner here after a beautiful day of golf. The hostess and weight staff were very friendly. We told them we were gonna be a little bit late to our reservation because the couple we had played golf with offered to buy us a cocktail afterwards the hostess said it wasn't a problem and to just let them know when we are ready. The cocktails were very good. I always love a great cocktail. We had salads for an appetizer and both were fresh and clean and paired well with their salad dressings. I had the salmon which looked delicious, but it lacked flavor and tasted very fatty. I substituted the rice for asparagus and asparagus was yummy . My husband pasta dish was satisfactory to him. He ate it all up, but my favorite part was dessert. Their specialty was carrot cake, which was good, but I enjoyed the peanut butter pie dessert, which was outstanding. Overall we had a nice experience. It was nice to have a place to go eat and relax after a beautiful day of golf.

What a view!!!! Absolutely gorgeous patio dining experience, and scenery!! Everything started off good. Came in at 430 with a party of 5 for our dad's birthday. we got cocktails, sister asked for no ice in her Sangria, but instead, she got lots of it. we got the jalapeño with cilantro tequila drink. it came delicious, and refreshing with a nice rim. we ordered a bunch of appetizers. Ceviche, bacon shrimp, chips/salsa,ect. the salsa had absolutely no flavor, could barely taste the tomatoes. the mango slaw with the bacon shrimp was super good!! Our meals came out , and everyone enjoyed theirs, except me. i got the shrimp primavera. it had a lemon wine cream sauce; i asked for no cream to be put into the sauce. I get a dry, super bland $34 pasta dish. It was also missing the spinach it stated to have. I had to squeeze 6 sliced lemons over it, and salt/pepper it to be able to enjoy it. Head chef ended up making it the way i requested, so i sent it hime with my dad. Wish it was made correctly the first time!! service started out nice, then became super slow. never got water refilled until we were done eating, then they were trying to refill like crazy. Had to ask for check, ask to be checked out. ask for to go dessert. Wont go back.

We came back to Tubac to shop and dine. We came here because breakfast was so good last time. We had excellent hot sandwiches while gazing out to the golf course. Here it includes cows wandering. Maybe they are a HazardVery rustic.

What's up with the low reviews? Great food! Recommending: short ribs (had them last year), steelhead trout special, and pork schnitzel. Great service. Great dessert. Especially liked the server Erica or maybe it was Emily who was hellbent on making my Diet Coke filled to the top with lemon slices. I love this place and their saddle bar stools!

Went for late dinner (8pm) on a Wednesday. We were the only diners. Beautiful, rustic decor. Fun atmosphere. Waitress was attentive and we enjoyed a lovely dinner. I had the shrimp and it was tasty. The sauce was a bit too liquid. Friend had the short ribs. He loved them. So tender you could cut it with the fork. Fresh baked bread. Hot out of the oven with yummy whipped butter. Highly recommend. Beautiful property.

Stayed at the resort and gave this place a try for dinner. Made a reservation and sat in side. Service was slow, but it was after a holiday so they may have been short staffed. We Started with the baguette bread, bacon wrapped prawns and potato soup. The the soup was good. Had chunks of cheese in it. I wish the bread was warm, I couldn't spread the butter on it. I had a blood orange margarita and a black and blue. I ordered a second black and blue, but it did not taste near as good as the first. I was told different bartender made the second one and they took it back to remake it a Third time, but even with third remake, it was not delicious like the first one. So beware, the drink recipes aren't consistent. For entrees, we each had Prawns & Smoked Andouille (House-made fettuccine, bell peppers, red onions, baby spinach, light white wine cream sauce). I requested chicken instead of prawns (expecting chicken and Andouille, instead of prawns and Andouille) but I only got the chicken. I think there was a miscommunication to the kitchen with my request from our server. I tasted a piece of my friend's Andouille and it was spicy, would have complimented the chicken well if it was made the way I requested For dessert I had the Wilcox Apple & Almond Crumble( praline pecan ice cream). I got it to go, to eat in my room, but it usually is served in a skillet fyi. The apple were cold, but The ice cream was good! I wish I had got a second scoop.

Where to begin. I have pondered writing this because we LOVE LOVE the resort!!! The views are stunning, staff AMAZING, hiking trails full of adventure. That said, the restaurant needs work. Day one, we were seated in the bar around 5pm. We sat and sat with no one asking if they could take an order. There were no less that seven staff members at any one time walking past. My husband finally snagged a young lady who was actually a hostess and she proceeded to take a drink order. As this was happening, across from us, glasses went crashing to the floor in front of the patio door and more behind us. So, we waited for our drinks. We also ordered chips and salsa that were inedible, cold, hard and flavorless. We left and came back to a patio seat at a later time. We decided to have appetizers that were good, but the shrimp was tough, the flatbread was burnt on the edges. We were so hungry and said nothing. In the meantime we heard the couple next to us ask a young man who appeared to be the manager, about the trees on the property. He proceeded to tell them that "he thought because cotton is grown in AZ, that's where they got the cottonwood trees". We were shocked, being from AZ and knowing this is absolutely false. It's a shame, because this is one of the most historic areas and he knew nothing about them. Breakfasts were very good and the staff spot on in the dinning room. GREAT food and service. THEN came dinner on Friday night. Sigh/Ugh. We were immediately brought water. Our waitress, when she finally approached after 15 minutes was wearing a mask. My husband has a hard time hearing so I had to translate for him. She asked, "So, do you want something else besides water to drink?" We placed our order and started to ask if we could order an appetizer also. She replied that we needed to wait and left. We thought maybe someone else was waiting our table and she just took the drink order. After fifteen minutes she returned with our drinks. She asked, "so what can I do for you people". We didn't realize she was actually wanting to take our order, so I asked if that's what she meant. She said, "Of course". I asked what the specials were and she pulled out a beat up yellow pad and said, "Basically a third option for fish with vegetables and rice". So, we ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp again, hoping it was a little less done than the night before. This time it again came overdone. I ordered the filet not realizing it was going to be DRENCHED in sauce. My husband ordered the Ribeye, same thing. NEVER should sauce be poured on top of meat like that, it should be on the plate under it or on the side. Especially when someone is paying the prices we were! The lady (not calling her a waitress because I'm not sure that she wasn't just filling in) walked away and I realized my husbands dinner came with a baked potato. I flagged her down because she didn't ask what he would like on it. When she came over, I told her he would only like butter and chives. She replied, "They don't come that way. They have everything on them including sour cream and they put them in the oven". I was shocked and asked about those who are lactose intolerant! She said, "Then you can order roasted potatoes instead"! I asked her to find out from the kitchen. She came back ten minutes later and said, "They said you could order roasted potatoes instead". My husband gave up and said fine. Once we scrapped all of the sauce off of our meat (because we didn't want to have to ask her to take it back), the meat was cooked properly and was fine. The potatoes were cooked so that was good. Then came dessert. The couple across from us had pointed out there was no chocolate option on the menu, Cheesecake or pie. Shocked again because restaurants generally accommodate, but not here. We agreed to split a piece of the cheesecake, but asked for no sauce or fruit. She actually stormed away and came back with THE smallest piece of cheesecake you could get. We will definitely go back to the resort, we will eat breakfast at this restaurant. We will not eat lunch or dinner at this place again, there are plenty of options in the town of Tubac that are actually amazing. We learned at this restaurant, despite the setting "you get what you get".
