Went to another kitchen design company in town who were missing the "warmth" factor - made us feel as though we would be lucky if they could fit us in. So we took our business to Southwest Kitchen & Bath. From the beginning what was clear was the high quality of their cabinetry and kitchen systems. Zoe, our designer, came up with a gorgeous plan and was happy to work with our ideas. She created a beautiful kitchen design that exceeded our dreams. Donald, the owner, has a long background in construction, as well as creative vision. Kudos to Donald for twice resolving issues that other contractors said would be impossible. His focus is on making things right, and he does it with genuine caring. Colleen was immediately responsive with hardware ordering and kept the to-do list for our home front and center. Special thanks to Zoe, too, for coming up with a plan to modernize our bathrooms and hall closets in a way that was easy on the budget. With Southwest Kitchen & Bath, we had the full package of expertise, design knowhow and responsiveness. We take a breath now, every time we walk into the kitchen. It looks that gorgeous.

I had Matt come to my house and give me his idea about remodeling my kitchen and my bathroom vanities. The appointment went well I thought we had a good plan and he was going to get back in touch with me. We made an appointment but unfortunately my dog came down with valley fever and was very sick and I had to get her to the vet emergently so I had to cancel that appointment. Ever since then I can't get Matt to call me back I've even gone to the show room and asked to see Matt and ask that Matt give me a call but for whatever reason Matt has chosen not call me.

Okay, so I feel the need to weigh in on this discussion with Jim C. and the owner of SWKB, Mel.First of all, the kitchen is beautiful. Thus, our satisfaction was NOT impossible to attain. The issue here is you, the owner. It is not unreasonable to expect an expensive project ($36K) to be done correctly and any issues fixed. While our contractors are originally from Mexico, they are very experienced, licensed, and the appliance instructions are also provided in Spanish; your design specifications are in numbers, a universal language. There is no language barrier here, your designers were not present for any of the appliance installs, and any conferring with your designers by our contractors was due to the appliances NOT FITTING within the cabinet. ALL the specifications were given to your designers well in advance to fabrication, to include the oven and stovetop. There is no excuse for the fabricators to have built the appliance cabinets incorrectly. But it happened in many instances, the worst of which was the oven, the hood, the warming drawer, and the soffit above the refrigerator. The crown molding was also spec'd incorrectly so that had to be re-fabricated. The appliance supplier come out to investigate the cabinet-appliance dimension issues. They circled on the appliance specs the CORRECT dimensions, thus showing that indeed, those fabricated cabinets and panels were WRONG. I suppose they can't read specs and don't speak English either ??We have little issue with your employees (designers and especially the installers) - they were apologetic and very embarrassed by these errors. We were told that our expenses for all the re-work we incurred would be reimbursed. Out of the total $36K bill, the outstanding balance was about $3.2K while we paid almost twice that in re-work due to these issues. We offered to just call it even, but you rejected it a with defensive and demeaning email. Even your response to this Yelp criticism shows how you treat customers. If this is your attitude towards us, the customer, then we certainly don't blame any of your employees if they would twist the facts so they would not be held accountable, or fired. The kitchen is now complete and beautiful in large part due to our independent contractors. Thus, having the Registrar of General Contractors visit would be pointless because all the issues have since been fixed, although they may be interested in all of our photos showing the miss-steps and your consequent attitude on the matter. But more importantly, we do not wish you to visit our home now or in the future. Bottom line: Shame on you for blaming your customers and fellow contractors, especially over an amount that is about 8% of the total cabinet project. All we asked for was an apology and at least meeting us half way due to all the consternation and mishaps we endured.

We contracted SWKB for a high end kitchen cabinet replacement as part of a home remodel. We were referred to them as the vendor for a particular high end cabinet maker. They also coordinated the appliances and the install. We were very disappointed despite spending north of 45K for the experience. The design was incomplete and many of the cabinets were built wrong for the appliances. We of course only find this out AFTER they are installed and the installer had to hack them apart in place to make them fit. Many things were forgotten (panels) and the instructions to the construction crew on the soffits in the kitchen were wrong not once but twice costing us several thousand dollars extra while SWKB fumbled around with the drawings and design. The installers were supposed to have it done in 2-3 visits but instead came late/left early and required some 14 visits to complete. It was excruciating to watch and to listen to the mounds of excuses. And to add insult to the injury, we were without a kitchen for four months. The panels on the appliances eventually fell off after they completed the job and we paid to have them fixed after the second fix didn't work. All tolled we spent an extra 5K to fix their design/quality/install issues. The most surprising thing for us was the owner's attitude towards her customers. When we asked the owner to share this extra cost (which her designer said they would), we got accusations, nastiness, insults on our contractors, implications that it had something to do with their English skills and generally unprofessional behavior. I would have let this go to court out of principal but frankly they wore me out and life is too short to try to make a bad company do the right thing. If you are the type of person that is happy with any ol' slop job or doesn't expect people to do as they say, these guys are great. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere and have a happier experience.

For customers looking for a seamless kitchen remodel, you must arrange your remodel or new kitchen/bath with SW Kitchen and Bath! Melissa is the owner and is responsive, credible, personable and willing to make things immediately happen for customers. The design center has ample kitchen designs to see and an impressive selection of tiles, granite and other countertop selections, custom cabinet ideas and anything else one might need to make an informed decision! In addition, this business works very closely with contractors, plumbers, lighting experts and the like which provides for little or no down time. We were fortunate to meet design consultant Laura during our first visit to SW Kitchen and Bath who exceeded our expectations. Intelligent, with a knack to genuinely hear desires and preferences, Laura coaches and facilitates in a manner which produces a design that is sound, attractive and within budget. She is truly a gift to her profession. In our nine week major remodel of a kitchen and bath we experienced nothing but professionalism, positive vibes, Laura's constant visits to our worksite and troubleshooting issues to the point where, when complete, we had absolutely no nightmare stories that many experience. For excellence, integrity, credibility and perfectionism, the selection of Southwest Kitchen and Bath as your design team will leave you more than you ecstatic.

Stay away from this business. First off paying over $25k for new cabinets for kitchen and 2 bathroom 3 years ago and to have sprinkles of water bubble the cabinets within 3 years is unacceptable. Then to call the company in August 2023 for the cabinet faces to be replaced and I'm still waiting (it's March 2024)! The owner, Donald, never returns calls!! Can't get a response from Kraft Design either, the cabinet manufacturer. I can't give them 0 Stars, which is what they deserve!

This is an update to my previous review. After I wrote my initial review in on 3/28/2024, I was immediately contacted by management/partner. He informed me that he was going to make it right and that he was going to stay on top of this until the job was done. He stuck to his words, he texted me quite frequently, and he made it right. In fact, when the parts had an ETA, he made an appointment two weeks out for installation. Installer was professional. There was a drawer sticking, so the following day the installer came out and fixed. It's just like it was on day 1. I can't thank management for stepping in and taking care of this in a professional and expedient manner. I would give 5 stars, but waiting 8 months for the problem to be fixed was unacceptable and it took upper management/partner to correct the issue.

Contacted them to get a quote for bathroom remodel, based on recommendation of a neighbor. We had initial meeting at our home and then came to showroom to look at design, which we were pleased with. Next step was for designer Zoey and contractor to. one back to our home to establish pricing...appointment time came and went and no response from Zoey to my text or message. Very disappointing.

Southwest Kitchen and Bath refaced/remolded our kitchen this past fall. Matt Yaney our designer was wonderful. When we first met with him in September we asked if our kitchen could be done by Thanksgiving or Christmas and he said most likely by Christmas and it was. He took my ideas and helped to design a great looking kitchen. It was done in stages, we had half of the kitchen refaced and the other half remodeled. Donald their installer also did a great job refacing and installing the new cabinets. We ran into some major snags with the subs they used and Matt was great listening to us and doing what he could to make things right. Our kitchen is beautiful and I love it except for our counter top over the sink, that didn't turn out how it was supposed to. I would have given them a great rating but due to the issues we had with some of the subs they used I can't. Learn from our mistakes and make sure your have them use their general contractor. They didn't think our project was big enough to warrant one and admitted after the the fact we should have had one.

Is it possible to give no stars?!? We went in wanting to redo our smaller kitchen and were basically just brushed off. Really?!? Just because it is small you had to make us feel small too? We FINALLY received a "design" of what we were wanting for our kitchen, we responded with different ideas and NEVER heard back. DO NOT GO TO THEM UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING BLOWN OFF.
