Sonoran Science Academy

I remember when SSA was a quality school with wonderful teachers who exceeded expectations. That was so very long ago. I pulled all my kids out of SSA Tucson campus on Sunset. This school is known to discriminate against students, especially their special education students and families. The staff is poorly trained and they're constantly trying to replace teachers who either quit or get fired. Their test scores are abysmal and sadly, they don't prioritize students. It's a negative, mean and cruel environment for kids to spend years in. Avoid at all costs.

I have had two students in this school and really love it. It's a small school so my kids have received a lot of personal care. After a year or two the teachers feel like family.BTW, regarding the photo in the previous post: That disturbing image was NOT taken in an SSA bathroom!

My nephew graduated from Sonoran Schools Academy, Tucson. SSA-TMH has been one of the best charter schools in Tucson since it opened 15 years ago or so. The teachers take academics seriously, and the students seem like a very nice group.

This is a great school that I am proud to be part of. Sonoran provides safe and caring environment for our students and families and building their STEM skills to be contributing members of our society.
