Since moving here from Hawaii, I've been on the hunt for Hawaiian BBQ comfort food and I can safely say Solid Grindz is SOLID. This is the place to go!! We've tried almost everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed us so far. The portions are generous, the flavors are authentic, and the mac salad is excellent. Kalbi is a must every time!!

I stopped here on a Tuesday. The restaurant is now in a sports bar (and I will explore that later). The ladies taking my order were patient. I got teriyaki chicken, and tuna Mac salad. I love the flavor of the teriyaki chicken, it is not swimming in sauce, and yet the flavor is on point! I love the tuna Mac salad as well. My favorite addiction is the spam musubi!! SO good. I can not wait to try the Poke next visit.Generous portions and reasonable prices. Also, Veteran owned. My co worker (who is 20 yr retired military) knows the owner and said he is a great guy. Support local!!!

I always love their spam musubi and the rest of the food . It's good people and always smiling when serving you. Service is excellent . Ambiance is great and clean especially since it's a small bar too where people hang out . Even if you don't really drink like myself it's a good place to get Polynesian food .

I haven't been to Solid Grindz since 2018. They were located on Craycroft then. I had a bad experience, after having dined there many times, and just hadn't had an opportunity to go back until yesterday.Oh, I'm glad I did!I had the Teriyaki Chicken, which was perfectly moist with a nice char that imparted a wonderful bite to the chicken. The sauce was served on the side, which I love because I don't want my chicken swimming in teriyaki sauce. I didn't have rice or macaroni salad as I don't eat either anymore, but my friend who ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp (which she LOVED!) said both were very good!Solid Grindz, you won my heart back!!

One of my favorite spots! The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and the price is right. I've tried everything here, every dish is made with care and love. The staff is friendly, and the vibe is laid-back. Highly recommend their mac salad--absolutely delicious! If you're craving Hawaiian comfort food, this is the place to be.

Been wanting to find authentic style Hawaiian food as good as back in my home town in Oregon. Heard lots of regarding this place, so figured I'd give them a try. It's located in a sports bar with TVs and pool table, which I can dig. The two ladies were patient as I went over their menu. I let them know that I've been on the search for good Hawaiian food in Tucson and elected this place to be first I try, which they seemed happy to hear. I ordered a mix plate (grilled teriyaki chicken & Mochiko chicken (spicy mango sauce)) w/2 macs, a kalbi & bang shrimp plate w/2 macs, a Masubi, and some drinks. The mac salad was pretty good, almost as flavorful and good as my favorite spot back home. Teriyaki chicken was good, but the portion seemed a little small compared to the rest. Kalbi ribs were good as well. Bang shrimp was fine for a one time try. I didn't like the Mochiko. The wait wasn't too long, but was able to watch some games to kill the time.

I got the garlic shrimp and kalbi and both were really good. I would've appreciated more sauce on the shrimp so it covered each shrimp but the sauce was so good. Cashier was super nice and friendly as this was our first time. Inside had a bar and restaurant seating area. Very chill lowkey place to hang and eat good Hawaiian food.

I have to say as someone that is absolutely obsessed with Hawaiian food, this meal was pretty sad :(. I had high hopes from a referral. Categories down below.Food: This meal was pretty soggy/tuff. Hard to explain but it didn't taste good and quite frankly I couldn't finish the meal as it didn't have much flavor as I continued to eat more of it.Temperature:The food was relatively luke warm, which again was pretty weird since most meals of this caliber come out hot and crunchy and none of that existed.Atmosphere: Felt warm and inviting and the staff were nice, so no complaints at all.Value:Expensive in my opinion and not a lot of quantity as you can see in the picture. Definitely can get more food elsewhere for the price you pay here in comparison to other foods in the same category.Recommendation:I may have to try this place again some time but it's hard for me to say it's a good option. if your in the mood for Hawaiian food, right now I'd say try it out at your own risk.
