A must stop! If you like real KC BBQ this is the place. Pit Master started at Haywards BBQ in KC when he was 16.A true taste of home. Had the wonderful brisket sandwich & fries that twice cooked like true BBQ places do.Unassuming place with relaxed atmosphere and wonderful staff.

Overall the meats were good. The fries were good. The buns for the sandwiches are really good. The macaroni needs some work in my opinion. The bbq sauce was average.The service was excellent and the man that helped us out was nice and suggestive. The ambiance was a chill vibe. Easy to find and free parking. Hope this helps... Enjoy!

The mesquite bbq sauce was outstanding. I ordered the 4 piece bbq. I got brisket, pulled pork, tritip and hot links with four sides. This is enough food for at least four meals. It came with 4 sides. Everyone was a home run. Perfectly cooked with a great Smokey flavor. I got onion rings as one of the sides and they were just like I like them. Great batter that didn't fall apart. I took the beans and Mac and cheese sides home with me.My friend got the catfish special and ate it all. Said it was one of the best catfish dish he ever had and it came with coleslaw and ff. He did mention that the ff were a little soggy but good.The person taking orders was friendly and very helpful. She explained the daily special and said it changed daily ( the daily specials are on their website ).We ate on their patio because their small dining room was full. Very nice patio. My friend said that the restroom was very clean and heated on this brisk day. I would highly recommend it for fans of Texas style mesquite bbq.

Small building surrounded by a delicate aroma of smoking meats, and it smells delicious!! Small parking lot gets full when busy.Ambiance/Cleanliness-A KC, MO kinda vibe. Very clean. Indoor seating, cozy tables. 4 stars.Service-Warm and welcoming...efficient. 4 stars.Food. Have had dry rub wings, rib tips and brisket. The brisket was above average, but meats come sauced unless requested otherwise, so I couldnt check bark. Wings are up there with the best, smokey and flavorful. Rib tips also excellent. Sauce is thick with horseradish and celery seed. 4 stars

Went in person on a weeknight and ordered to go. Service was ok, not friendly but not rude. We ordered the 3 meats 3 sides combo with pulled pork, ribs, and brisket and for the sides, fries, mac and cheese, and potato salad. The meats were tender but needed more sauce. The fries were awful, almost burned and some fries were hard and some soggy and very greasy. we had to throw those away. The Mac and cheese and potato salad were good. There is seating inside and out.

This super little restaurant brings some BIG flavor! My first time trying this BBQ and I loved it! Got a mom and pop vibe with simple and delicious ingredients. I had the turkey and two sides which was fried okra and collard greens. I also tried the peach cobbler ice cream....so good! My fire had the pulled pork tacos with fried. Neither one of us could pass up the delicious sweet tea! We will be back!

Ambiance: i would have preferred to describe this place as a "hole in the wall", but it's more like the hole in the hole in the wall...I'm talking tiny (see pics). It's best to order "to go" as there are only 3 or 4 tables. That said, the food is worth the visit.The food is old style barbecue. Savory and tasty. Order the ribs...the meat falls off the bone.The service is fast and efficient.

Everyone asked for BBQ and we were going to head to one of the chains but it was mentioned to try Smokey Mo's so we thought, yes...we love to frequent local places. The staff welcomed us as we walked in to this very small restaurant. The smell of BBQ was strong and smelled mouth watering! I explained to the cashier that we were not wanting meals per say that we wanted to order some chicken, brisket, and pulled pork along with sides. She said no problem so we ordered what we wanted. Here's what we got:Chicken: tender pieces with a spicy sauce.Brisket: we felt it was missing the bark and the meat was dry.Pork: Not really pulled pork but more like chopped pork. It was flavorful and moist. We all agreed that the sauce was thick and really spicy for all of our tastes...realize that for others, it is perfect! We also got onion rings, which were fried to perfection and yes...when you take a bit, you get just the bite of onion and not the whole onion! The true test of onion rings! We also got an order of fries...nothing special and I prefer them to be crisper. We also got cole slaw (it was fair), potato salad (I didn't try it but one person said it was "ok", and beans. Several said the beans were good but the sauce was similar to the sauce on the meats. I also ordered a whole sweet potato pie, which was delicious. The crust was bit soggy but the filling was sweet and good. Overall it was an ok meal for us. Again, realize that for others, this is great BBQ...everyone's tastes are different.

Y'all this place is a hidden gem but deserves all the praise! Food is fantastic! Meat is very moist and delicious! The owner and staff are very cool! The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. I will definitely be back!

Great food and people. The smoked meats are awesome and the side are incredible. The ribs are the bomb.
