I have been going to Silverbell Eyecare for a few years now. I have always found them very friendly and helpful. The doctor is kind and forthright so I feel confident in the treatment. They are not high pressure as far as sales, and always look to find deals for me since I am on a budget. I have never been charged for a trial pair of contact lenses as I read in other reviews. They bill at the time the service was done, so there are never surprises. It was easy to get my prescription from them, in case I want to buy glasses somewhere else as well.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Old and outdated frames just like another reviewer said. I went there to get a contacts and glasses Rx. This was my second visit, I had gone back in 2014. The glasses I already had were still there. Optometrist not super friendly but not awful either. The other staff will do anything they can to rip you off, having you sign things without explaining them. Not to mention incompetence. I had to ask them to send my rx several times before I finally got them. Pretty sure that my rx is my health info that I am entitled to without practically having to beg for them while repeatedly being lied to that they would be emailed to me.

I needed a new pair of glasses done in a trifocal prescription because I am a pilot and the instrument panel is at a distance where a reading power does not work. I was recommended to Silverbell Eyecare Center by an acquaintance so I made an appointment for December 26th. The doctor was very good, let me get that out of the way. High regards for the doctor! My issue is with the Manager of the center. When I was at the point of picking out a frame, she showed me only only two frames, both the same except for the color of the frame, one being grey and one being black. That really surprised me but I picked the frame that I liked. Then I stressed the importance that the clip on sunglasses be non-polarized because flying with polarized lenses is downright dangerous. Do a Google on the subject and you will learn what I am talking about. I really stressed the importance and safety of having non-polarized sunglasses. The manager said she would be sure to contact the lab to ensure the lenses were non-polarized. After waiting until the 4th week of January, I finally was sent a text message that my glasses were ready. A month of waiting! I go in to pick up my glasses and I asked the manager to check that the sunglasses clip on were non-polarized, as I ordered. The clip was polarized! The manager apologized for the mistake and ensured me that she would personally contact the lab to get the correct lenses made that I should have had from the beginning. I waited another two weeks and finally received a phone call that my sunglasses clip had come in. Remember, this all started on December 26th and it was now February 6th! I was scheduled to fly on February 7th so I was so happy to finally get my sunglasses! I picked them up and went home. I told my wife who is a Master Optical Lab Technician with over 42 years of experience that I finally got my finished sunglasses. By the way, the only reason that I did not go to my wife's place of work is because they did not, at that time, accept VSP insurance. Anyway, my wife inspected the sunglasses and she reluctantly told me that, once again, they were polarized! I hit the ceiling and rightfully so! I asked my wife if her lab could make the non- polarized sunglasses and that I did not care how much they cost. My wife had a great pair of tinted plano non-polarized lenses made the very next day! I had called Silverbell Eyecare and left a voice mail message informing them of all of this and the manager had the gall to leave me a voice message stating that when I left their center on February 6th, I was happy. You darn right I was happy after waiting over a month and a half for my glasses to be finished! I am not an expert on optics so when I was handed the sunglasses clip, I did not know they were polarized, again.Needless to say, I paid money out of my pocket to correct a mistake that Silverbell Eyecare should have fixed weeks ago. I will never go back to them again. It is a shame because the doctor was first rate! It was the optical staff that failed repeatedly.

Dr Bain is very kind and knowledgeable. He tested my eyes with several tests I have never had before. The prescription he gave me works very well, no more double vision! Staff is patient and kind. My dog chewed up my glasses and because of insurance and warranties, I am able to replace them for $68.00!

The doctors are great but the staff here are incompetent. Today I showed up for my appointment and they told me I would have to pay cash and then work to get reimbursed by my insurance company because they are having an internal IT issue with my insurance and can't bill them for my appointment. They have a contractual obligation with the insurance company to accept me as a patient and bill and they refuse to do so because "our system doesn't have the code." When I mentioned that the insurance company said they could send billing manually they said they refused. Turns out they have an out of area 3rd party billing company and she claims they can't send manual billing to them and there's no code for her to check in the system. (So it's my fault and I have to pay cash and battle my insurance for reimbursement because you're too lazy to fix IT issues??? Yeah that makes sense.) So the lady got upset with me when I insisted on keeping my appointment and told me they were not going to see me today. Not the first time I've had problems with this place. Last time I ordered contacts they never called me to let me know they were in and I waited almost 3 months unnecessarily. The incompetence abounds. I don't even believe in DOGE but think this team needs a boot. So ridiculous. So I call their other location to make an appointment there and explain to the person what happened and that I want to make an appointment. She transfers me to a manager - back at the first place! Ayayay. She's a little more tactful and helps me to make a new appointment at another location, but what a runaround. Instead of just getting to see a doctor who I made an appointment with, I now spent 1.25 hour Les on calls with the insurance company and their management complaining about poor customer service. What a waste of time.

I've been going to Silverbell Eyecare for 10 years now. This used to be a 5 star place before Dr. Baim became part of Alvernon Optical a few years ago. He's still a great eye doc but the retail optical department and the lab they now use are no longer very good. I had them make a pair of bifocals and a pair of computer glasses to the new prescription Dr. Baim wrote. When the bifocals came in it was obvious the right lens reading section was in the wrong place and the lenses were so loose in the frames they made noises when the frame flexed and you could rotate them easily by hand. When I pointed that out to the optician she agreed and said they needed to go in for a remake. I waited the time she quoted for the remake and when I did not get called, I called them and after much hassle found out that the remade glasses had to go back to the lab for yet another remake. At least I didn't make another 50 mile round trip to find that out again. I finally got them on the third try and they were OK. Before Alvernon, the old lab was perfect on the first try each and every time.

I'm always on the move and tend to stick to my childhood optometrist. However, I decided to give Silverbell a try and the Dr.! I Trust reviews so I decided why not. I have zero complaints. I ask a lot of questions and take a lot of time to make decisions. With that being said, it took me a VERY long time to choose my glasses so long I had to custom order some after trying on all of them. Not once did I get impatience or a hint of rudeness from the staff. Dr.Baim answered all my questions and was very kind and nice didn't waste time yet never felt rushed. Not a hint of rudeness or uncomfortableness resides here!!! And to add on they offer free glasses spray refills and I never paid anything for my contact trials at least it was so minimal I didn't notice and I do notice anything over 20 lol. Might be my insurance don't know what everyone's deal is .

I'll start off by saying that I believe the doctor is good. He is very "to the point" and thorough. He's not real social, but that's okay for me when seeing a doctor. My poor rating is for the optometrist staff, I was not impressed at all. I asked for my prescription be sent to me, I've never received it. I believe I'm entitled to it by law. My prescription is very light, and I have a minor astigmatism in one eye. Being someone who doesn't wear contacts much, I knew the trial pair given to me would take me a while to test out. You need to return the DISPOSABLE TRIAL lenses back to the office within 60 days, otherwise they bill you (I think it was like ~$79). I received this bill, no phone calls to as me how things were going or that they wanted the lenses back, just a bill. Seriously? In the past, my old eye doctor just GAVE me a few different lenses to try out and if he didn't hear back from me, guess what? I DIDN'T WANT THEM! No big deal and no bill was sent to me! I'll not be going back, not because of the doctor, but the rules they have regarding their trial lenses are ridiculous! I'm sure the trial lenses they gave me where free from the contact lens company. They threw them out in front of me when I brought them back, so I know they weren't super precious. They make patients feel like they are trying to scam them! Seriously, it's not like I was trying to steal a 2 week pair of contact lenses; I only wore them twice and they were horrible. This policy is tacky business practice and insulting to the patient!

I was treated very nicely by the staff especially by Isabel. Isabel is hands down very good and is very good at what she does! The receptionist and techs are really approachable and nice. The doctor is okay and is just doing his job. Other than that pretty good place for going the first time.

I highly recommend Dr. Baim and his staff, they are nice, polite and caring about patients needs. I can't believe I didn't use this office sooner, I kept going to the opposite end of town, then, I found a nice optometrist that ended up leaving the state, so I had to find a new one, and here he is, less than a mile from my house and he's worth the trek across town if you need proper advise. He's got a nice demeaner about him, and his staff are great.. I HIGHLY recommend him and I hope he doesn't move or retire.. we like this guy! :)
