This place USED to be very well run,and fantastic. Many kind and caring people were there.I had volunteered there in the past, and even donated food and supplies.I even knew Nancy back in the day. That's all changed.Nasty, rude, money hungry, and uncaring is how it is now.A total embarrassment to the City, and Community they represent.Nancy would role over in her grave if she knew how bad it has become.I had heard this from several people recently, but got to experience it first hand this week. The lady in charge should be fired. She is uncaring, rude, unprofessional. The lady before her was an Angel.I thought this was probably the best facility in the state prior the change. Now it's gotta be one of the worst.Beware! She will treat you like a criminal and could care less about you,or your animals. She never says she's sorry,or made a mistake even if it's obvious. She care less!

The ladies here are the most caring people in the world. I was lucky enough to rescue a puppy from them and you can tell he was loved. The staff was extremely accommodating during the adoption process even though they had two liters of puppies people were adopting that week. We love our crazy rescue pup and will take him back for another visit soon.

Have come in to get my dogs licenses renewed. The staff was super helpful and accommodating. I have always been worried if my dogs tags came off their collars and the staff explained that when we license them they take down microchip info just in case as well. Definitely put me at ease if my dogs ever get out! Will certainly adopt from the shelter when we are looking for our new family member!

While this is not a no-kill shelter your first interaction with the staff will tell you, loud and clear, how much they wish they were.... and just how IMPORTANT it is for you to spread the word locally about animal adoption.I've personally watched their head staffer at work, on several occasions, taking in animals that people just got tired of. I saw the wearied look on her face. She doesn't let them go without feeling guilty, to be sure, before she takes in and cares for these animals as best she can. Knowing that most have less than half a chance of making it out of the shelter alive. Gruesome, but true. These pups and kitties are on death row, and YOU'RE the Governor that can grant the pardon. We adopted, and we will do so again. Please help.

Always caring staff.... Understandably they're not real pleasant when having to give up a pet though. With all the strays, and abandoned animals they are incredible.

I would like to thank those at the shelter who were so kind to me during a difficult and necessary surrender of my late mother's cat. I was incapable, due to extenuating circumstances, to care for her myself. I am used to adopting, and it broke my heart to be on the other side. I know that they will care for her and find a loving home that she deserves.

Adopted a dog from the shelter, was told the dog got along great with other dogs and grew up on a ranch. I was walking the dog one night and the dog went after a puppy, when I pulled his leash and said no he jumped up, latched on to my arm and dragged me across the parking lot. When I went back to the shelter with a bruised and swollen arm, swollen and bloody knees the staff proceeded to make fun of me and say how I was in the wrong. They then put on the dog's profile that I was not able to properly care for a dog.

While I've never had the pleasure of adopting a pet through Sierra Vista Animal Control I have have definitely enjoyed my visits with them. On three separate occasions I have found stray dogs running around my neighborhood. The staff and volunteers have always been extraordinary in helping to find their rightful owner. They were also extremely empathetic and helpful when my own cat got loose. My Girl Scout Troop recently had the honor of being able to donate some food and supplies to them. When dropping off the items the staff went out of their way to give the girls a tour of the facility. They patiently and knowledgeably answered all of their questions. This fed into an already growing passion these girls have for animals and their community. Thank you Sierra Vista Animal Control for always being so warm, welcoming and helpful!

We are a small town, but this is a great shelter. It is not a "no kill" shelter, but the staff does everything humanly possible to see that the animals get homes. I have adopted 3 fur kids from them, the last in May 2016. I couldn't be happier with Rocky (a dog) - and will have him for the rest of his life (as I did with the previous two adoptions). This shelter is clean and well maintained, and the animals are well cared for. Love it!!

I've adopted from several shelters in the area, as well as some of the local rescues, and our Sierra Vista shelter is one of the best of the bunch. The staff really care about the animals, and they work really hard, despite a very difficult job, and despite the whack jobs, and downright despicable people they encounter in their duties. Their new location is much nicer, and I've personally seen the staff go above and beyond for the animals in their care.
