I come here from time to time and it's always been great service, they are quick and attentive. Very friendly. Will get you what you need. The food is always good. The place is a cute set up, especially if you want some privacy I recommend sitting in the booths. Also on certain days are half off sushi rolls! They have a large variety of rolls to pick from, sometimes it's so hard to choose. Pictured is the Volcano Roll - which did come out a lil burnt but was still yummy. Got a Philadelphia Roll but ate it. Then for a sweet treat I wanted Tamago but they were out so I got Unagi

When I'm on the West side and can't make it back to Sachiko, I hit up Shogun!Their portions are akin to a very famous Portland, OR sushi destination, Saburo's... Just massive portions. Enormous! Their fish is also fresh, I've never had anything suspect at all.The only issue I had this time was my Hamachi Sashimi was seared... Hamachi is not seared... Albacore (sometimes referred to as White tuna) is seared because its flesh is so soft it can fall apart, so it is seared. Hamachi is NEVER seared, it was a very annoying experience. A small but noticeable flaw. I'll remember to ask them not to sear the next time I visit them.I'm not gonna complain they don't use Japanese Sushi Chefs, otherwise you would never get the enormous portions.

This is the second time I've been to Shogun at the recommendation of one of my friends. I returned for the massive nigiri portions, but without that I probably wouldn't be drinking the Shogun Kool-Aid. While the service my first visit wasn't remarkable in any way, the service this time around was actually abysmal. Do not sit in the booths, however cute they may be. You will be forgotten about. When the server did remember people sitting there, he had a receipt in hand. At this point, half of the ordered food was still missing. This was extremely off-putting. You can be "proud to serve the biggest portions and best choices of sushi entrees in town" but service like that doesn't bode well for new customers. Even though I wasn't thrilled with this visit, I know I'll return to Shogun and hope for better.

First time trying this place. Service was fast and friendly. The ambience was really nice, they had a waterfall and private booths for larger parties. But unfortunately the sushi was sub par. The rice was mushy. The sushi burrito was so over powered by the flavor of chipotle that it didn't taste good. The appetizer sampler was good though. But I would not come back for sushi.

It's okay--busy and popular. It's the low prices that really attract most of their patrons. Our server was fine; I don't need them to be my best friend, but he didn't talk to us or enhance our experience at all. The place has a fun vibe, and they offer some sweet deals on different rolls on various days of the week. I can see myself coming back, but not by choice. The sushi was fine.

They have different specials everyday. It's a rotating schedule. My favorite is on Thursday for 1/2 price. They also have soy paper instead of Nori , which is great for me

Tucked away in the corner of a shopping center. The place seems clean and all, but they might need to hire some employees. The hostess was also waiting tables so it took me a good few minutes to get seated. We'll start with the good, they offer a free bowl of miso, which was pleasant. No complaints. But that's about where it ends. I got a sweet tea to drink, which was entirely unsweetened. Okay we're far from the south so a lot of folks would overlook that. They were completely out of crab puffs (crab rangoons) so I didn't get to try those. Instead for an appetizer I got the egg rolls, which came out lava hot. They were decent but nothing to write home about. Now for the entrees, I got the Mariposa roll and the Las Vegas Roll. You could probably skip the Las Vegas Roll, the sesame seed breading gave it a very popcorn-esque taste. Not bad but the flavor of the roll was obscured by it. The Mariposa was actually pretty good, but it's hard to tell if it was just the sauce I was tasting. At the end I couldn't tell if I was biting shrimp tempura tail or not because it was over breaded. Overall not the greatest sushi experience I've ever had. Not sickening but just mediocre. I think there are better places you could go spend your money at.

So sad, Shogun used to be my favorite sushi place for many years but these past couple years it has just gotten worse. Initially, it was hit or miss on the quality of the fish. When it was good, it was very good but when it was bad, it even smelled bad. The last few times I have gone it's been very bad. I keep trying to go back on certain days, hoping to get it fresh fish but not only is it not fresh but it smells bad! So bad each time that I thought maybe they were targeting me, but I have heard the same from others. Too bad, it's time for some quality control.
