If you've ever seen the Disney Channel show Fish Hooks, this is what I imagine the pet store to be like. What my metaphor hopes to convey is that this is the most enriching fish store I have ever experienced. Every species was kept in an appropriately sized and clean tank. Something I didn't see that I reliably see at big chains: dead fish!An additional simple metric of how I rate a pet store is based on how they keep betta fish, if at all. The one betta I could locate was kept alone, in a planted tank that I would say is at least 5 gallons. Shark Reef has plenty of supplies, food options, and medication. I went to get some Seachem Kanaplex and might have just found my new favorite fish store.

Great new place for all your salt water needs. The staff is knowledgeable and they will help you find the perfect items to add to your tank. They have a nice selection of frags. The fish are treated nicely and have plenty of room to swim around. They are not crammed in like other stores. They have lots of snails and crabs to choose from. They offer everything you need to start a new system or upgrade the one you already have. Stop in and give them a try. I bet you'll become a customer for life.

Just a few of the amazing pieces I have bought from Shark Reef both in person and the auction site both were a great deal and let me tell you these guys are great when it comes to customer service. They remember every piece, problem and even further interest in the hobby I've had . They have saved my corals countless times and helped me with tank issues I've cause from my own neglect like red slime that almost ruin my corals. ( it also helped they didn't make me feel horrible about it ) . They help calculate common issues like light settings,water changes amount, filter media. They will not oversell you on any products you don't need, the results are immediate my take cleared up the next day with zero loss of coral and fish. It's over an hour drive from where I live but it's worth I appreciate everything these guys have done for my tank. The price are amazing the corals are beautiful and most importantly they will help you along the way.

This is a great reef store. Very helpful and friendly staff. We went in just to look around and ended up buying a pair of clownfish. Although the clerk did not know the specific type of clownfish they were, they were an amazing price. Overall a clean store with amazing display tanks and great prices.

Buyer beware! This business has no concept of customer service. I bought 1 freshwater fish and 2 assassin snails. When I got home and acclimated both to an established tank, I realized that the snails were actually empty shells and less than 24 hours later, the fish was in labored breathing on the bottom of the tank. Upon returning to the business the next day to explain the situation and return the empty shells, I was given the assurance that the snails would be replaced on the next order and two additional snails added for having to make three 45 minute round trips for the purchase. I asked the employee helping me to document the agreement on the receipt and sign his name. The snails were not provided on the next order. I was told that the agreement to provide 2 additional snails would not be honored. All this after being told by Caleb and the employee, who declined to provide his name, that they would take care of me multiple times. I found out the unnamed employee, a short, sandy blond haired young man wearing a tee-shirt, shorts and flip-flops, signed someone else's name to the receipt rather than his own after I asked specifically for his name in case there was a problem. I finally simply asked for a refund and again was denied. I prefer to support local small businesses, but find it increasing difficult not to turn to on-line vendors when customer service such as this is so pathetic. Unfortunately, I'll chalk this up to experience and consider myself lucky that the financial impact was minimal. At retail, the cost to keep my business was $8. I'll be shopping elsewhere going forward!
