Sgt. Kernel's Popcorn & Cafe

Nope another flop place that has no business being a restaurant for huevos rancheros...it was like stewed tomato soup on eggs. How ever did they open casa Rivera? Only thing I had at that place was some gross bread pudding the lady handed me since they had no more food n forgot to tell us.

Super cute little cafe! Hilda, the owner operator is so pleasant and accommodating. Walking in with the beautiful aroma of coffee and her pastry is amazing. The puff pastry has homemade Bavarian cream, whipped cream, strawberry glaze and freshly sliced strawberries. Excellent!!

Great place to get some lunch on your way to the observatory or Show Low. This family and veteran owned restaurant gives you comforting feelings once you come right in. They offer a large variety of yumminess- meals, pastries, coffee etc. My favorite meal I love to order is the chilaquiles! I order with chorizo and a side of scramble eggs which ends up being very filling :) This you will not regret if you order. Make sure to grab a popcorn bag when you check out for snacks on your way to your trip or back home :)I highly recommend this place! ALSO DOG FRIENDLY!

We happened across this fabulous little cafe serving homemade pastries and specialty coffees. There was six of us and the owner Hilda, was the baker and barista. We ordered affagato's, mochas, lattes and breve coffees. We ordered from the bakers case blueberry muffins, scones and maple pecan pastries. All the baked goods were fresh and delicious. The best part of this experience was Hilda herself, she treated us all like we were special guests. She went up and above to take pictures of us and even joined in having a friend take a picture. We will be back and will not forget this caffeinating experience and the fun we had for a long time.

Great little cafe/diner/bakery! Have been a few times and the food is amazing, the owners are incredibly friendly and genuine, and the coffee is the best! Not a greasy spoon but a very quality, clean, quiet place to grab some delicious breakfast, have a cup of coffee or a pastry, and visit a little bit. They have a Saturday German food special that we haven't tried yet but hear is amazing! We'll be back to try it!!

Great coffee, dessert and food. Very friendly staff. Looking forward to their new restaurant opening up in the same shopping center.
