Sausage Shop Meat Market and Deli

Oh man, believe the hype. This may be the best sandwich shop in Tucson. I've been shopping at Sausage Shop for years for sausages and meats to cook at home like for gumbo and BBQ, but hadn't eaten in before. This is mostly due to working so far away and not trying them on a Saturday. I should have come sooner for a sandwich. I got the Tubby sandwich and it didn't disappoint at all. The ingredients of the sandwich all complimented each other. I got the hot mustard on the side to not mess up the reheating later. I had a feeling the sandwich was going to be too much for me in one sitting. The place is a mom & pop meat counter kind of place. They are old school, but like an old school place you get great old school service. An example of this is they have a sign to be off your phone. I'm guessing too many customers were unable to extend the courtesy of being off the phone when being waited on. Yeah don't make the same mistake I did and wait too long to try some amazing sandwiches.

My friend has been coming to this place for almost 15 years. He uses them as his primary butcher, and they have excellent cuts of all of kinds meat. They also offer a variety of sausages which looked and sounded incredibly good. And lastly, they offer a wide array of made to order sandwiches, which was the reason we stopped by. We wanted a quick yet filling dinner and sandwiches sounded perfect. I ordered the American Dip with au jus and a small side of macaroni salad. The au jus that the sandwich came with was absolutely incredible. It had a deep flavor and complimented the sandwich perfectly. The sandwich itself was full of meat and grilled onions. The macaroni salad was okay, nothing too special and kind of tasted like your typical store bought mac salad. If you're looking for quality meat and delicious food, this is the place to come! You won't be disappointed!

Fantastic place! Old school deli and very friendly owners and staff. Prices are very reasonable. I had the corn beef and pastrami combo and it was excellent. Great experience and highly recommended.

The best sandwich shop in Tucson, period. It's not easy knowing these guys are here when I'm trying to do a carnivore diet, so today is my one exception for a while. That Tubby is a tastebuds extravaganza, but really, their massive menu has so many bangers that you can't go wrong. Phenomenal selection of meats in the freezer if you want to take something home & make it yourself, they also offer an 18# meat special for $116 right now. Steaks, roasts, sausage, ground beef, etc. Service has been consistently pleasant, everyone is doing a great job & the outside seating on a cool winter day is nice if you can get a table in the sun. I'll be back, that's for sure.

This place keeps it classic and has been around for 30 years. In a town where overpriced sandwiches are everywhere, this hole in the wall shop is just perfection. There are so many sandwiches to try making a return visit certain. We got the Thursday special and the BBQ from the lunch menu. Both come with chips and soda. The BBQ was juicy and flavorful. The sandwiches are big enough for small appetites to share. It is also a meat shop so you can purchase meats to go. I highly recommend giving this spot a try to get your next sandwich fix.

If in the mood from an amazing sandwich, fresh brats, great steaks & more head over to the Sausage shop meat market! With a vast array of of sandwich's to select from all listed on the wall behind the deli counter the market is sure to please even a picky eater, from fresh hot deli or a cold cut the meats & veggies here are awesome. Not only did we purchase sandwiches to eat for lunch we bought some steaks & brats to throw on the grill. Jalapeño cheddar, Onion garlic & Hot Italian everyone loved the brats and the steaks melted in our mouths looking forward to returning and trying some of the other sandwiches,They also have some really cool drinks in their beverage refrigerator.

I ordered a smoked ham & a smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. Picked them up on the Tuesday before the Holiday. Both had reheating instructions written on the outside of the bag. THEY WERE EXCELLENT!! Had a few friends over, one is a very good cook, and he was blown away with how moist and juicy both meats were. I had a question about the reheating, I called them, and they were very helpful.A must buy, 2 meats, a full turkey and a medium ham, smoked, for under $90.

The Sausage Shop has Very nice staff. Great menu. Food is great as well. I recommend the Blue Ox!

The old time sausage shop is alive and well on west Prince Road. I am a customer of 35 years and wouldn't want to live without this place. just the delightful smell that greets you as you enter takes me back to the old shops I have known from my childhood and living overseas. my favorite sandwich is the Ralph! And try any of the links available in the meat case, all made in the shop! Your tummy will thank you!
