Hubby broke his hip and rehabbed at SCR. They provided 3 meals a day, physical therapy, a shower sporadically and positive energy. Oh and I asked for a broom so I can clean a lil mess, within 5 min. a lady came and cleaned the mess for me (that was niiice). There's nothing to complain about on this facility. Hubby wasn't ready to be discharged, though his healing progressed ... I don't think I'd want to leave either with all the catering, an employee surprised my hubs with a root beer float, he hasn't seen one in decades

It is dark and dingy. No private rooms and only hospital curtains between you and your roommate. No chairs for visitors. They are understaffed and overworked. Do not recommend.

My father was admitted to Sabina Canyon after a hospital stay for rehab. Our experience here was not good.1. communication was terrible. Trying to get information from anyone was next to impossible. At one point after he was there for about a week and a half, I was trying to get some information and there was nobody willing to sit down with me for a few minutes and explain to me how the facility works. I had basic questions like when will he get a shower and what is the plan of care. 2. The facility is old and run down. His room was dark and dingy. the sink in his bathroom was broken. And by broken I mean when you turned the knob it came off and there was no running water. When we complained several time that he could not reach the pull cord to turn on the light, their solution was to tie a trash bag to the cord and leave that hanging down for him to tug on to turn on the light.3. "You're a Hoyer". He couldn't walk or even reposition himself in bed when he arrived. When he wanted to get in or out of bed he would be told repeatedly and in an unkind tone "you're a hoyer" and would go on and one about how they had to use a hoyer lift to get him in and out of bed and used that as the reason why he couldn't either go back to bed or get out of bed.4. "just go to the bathroom in your briefs" Another instance where they used the hoyer lift reason fo not helping him to sit on the toilet and go to the bathroom. This was dehumanizing And humiliating for him. Not to mention the fact that he would then have to lay there in his soiled brief for an hour or more before they would come and get him cleaned up.5. when I asked him why he wouldn't press the call button to get some help, he said that if you call them too much they'll stop coming. 6. Neglect. if he didn't have therapy on Saturday or Sunday they refused to get him out of bed that day. So if he had 2 days without therapy he was left in bed the entire 2 days. The did not come in to help him reposition so he developed bed sores.7. Bullying. When they did not want to help him with something they were prone to raising their voices, scolding, and bullying until he complied. One instance of this happened between therapy sessions. He was in the wheelchair and had been constipated for several days. He desperately wanted to sit on the toilet but they wouldn't help him do that. He was in agonizing pain that comes from that kind of constipation so he asked to get back into bed so he could lay down and try to go, but then they said he couldn't do that because hes a hoyer and it was too much work to get him back in bed and the back out of bed for his next therapy. It's bad enough that they had no compassion for what he was going through but on top of that they argued with him and treated him like a naughty 4 year old boy. 8. My Nightmares. I was recovering from surgeries and was using a knee scooter and rollator to get around. The facility was on lockdown so to go in or out of the facility a staff member had to disarm the alarm and let you in or out. Several times when I was ringing the bell to come into the facility I was either scolded for going outside or interrogated as to how I got out there. Trying to leave the facility I was told to go back to my room and once the staff person even mocked me and teased me for try to leave the facility. I had nightmares about being held there against my will. If they treated me like that, I cry to think how they treat their patients.9. she's not in today. When we needed to get information and when we requested that he be discharged to another facility, the excuse we would be given was that the only person in the entire facility that could possibly help us was not working that day. That's why they took 3 days to provide the required information to the new facility. 10. There were a few staff people who seemed to really care. the one time I was there at the same time as the doctor, he seemed to be kind and compassionate.

If you love someone that needs rehab, do not send them here. There was daily neglect where nurses only changed and cleaned the patient once every morning. They advertise 1.5 hours of rehab per day, however they gather 2-4 patients in the rehab room and excercise each one while the others wait....it is a group therapy to get all patients done at one time. So your loved one is only getting about 10-15 minutes of rehab per day. The whole place does not smell clean. So sad my mom had to spend her last days in this disgusting environment.*I only left 1 star because a star is required to leave a review...however no star wound be my vote.

Our father was there several years ago after back surgery. They moved a sick man with C-Dif in his room which my father contracted. In the two weeks he was there he lost 25-lbs and almost died from dehydration from the constant diarrhea caused by the C-Fif. We had to actually call 911 to get him to TMC because the staff wouldn't do anything. A friend of our's with active chronic MERSA (open wound that can't heal) was placed in a room on Friday with another person. What king of 'Care' facility is this? Don't send a loved one here!

This place doesn't even deserve a star, the care was horrible. There are a couple staff members, Jenny and Neo were CNAs that cared. They failed to give my father breathing treatments as scheduled. We won't even discuss his embarrassment of being left in a Tshirt with an adult diaper and no other clothes. I understand insurance dictates but insurance goes off of notes, which in this case said my dad was fully independent, that's funny because he can barely stand on his own. Today was discharge with absolutely no discharge planning. I wasn't asked once if he had a walker to go home, when I asked when his last nebulizer treatment was I received a blank stare only to find his last treatment was yesterday at 7pm. No one was alarmed that he was straight breathe. In the 7 days he was there he lost 10 pounds due to the horrible food. The list goes on. If you love your friend or family member, please keep them away from this facility.

Forgot I made this review... as time progressed the MRSA they neglected to help with ended up causing organ failure and my mom passed away. This is a terrible place and should be fully shut down and reevaluated.

Wasn't too impressed at first and was kind of nervous to leave my father-in-law there. It is an older facility so it looks more worn. My Fil was there for 2 months for rehab and really liked his PT and OT. They were very encouraging and kind. The CNA staff were very nice and competent with only a few that i felt weren't the best.

This is the worse place I've ever been! I picked it because it had 5 Star review, I immediately regretted my choice. Staff was rude especially Karla a night nurse , I had an old lady with dementia in my room and they would leave her pooped on and Ivonne a aid told her she wasn't going to change her again because she already changed her twice in the last hour . Especially night staff they would not give you your pain medicine on time, or in the day . The helpers get mad when you need the help and are so rude. The only good thing was Martin from physical therapy, he was the best. I don't recommend to put any loved one you care about there unless you want them to be treated bad and have to eat disgusting food , and terrible nurse's and staff. Thank you Martine and the physical therapy staff. This place is the worst place ever ! Nurse's, helpers are the worst and food not even a dog will eat. Sincerely K
