Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

friendly staff and the lemon ice with vanilla custard outperforms Chick-fil-A's frosted lemonade. It has lemon zest and tastes so much more fresh. The ice and ice cream are both also at a higher quality. I miss it

Finally got to cross this sweet spot off my list last week! I went here after a very hot experience and really enjoyed the time cooling down. When I hear custard, I think of creamy like ice cream that's really thick, but The custard is an interesting texture that reminds me of both gelato and shaved ice. It was a smooth consistency though. I like that you can try flavors and that they have fun flavors like cotton candy and Swedish fish! They really do that's true to the flavor too! They also have a good array of options to choose from in ordering such as just custard, a blend of the custard and soft serve, layered custard and soft serve, and a couple more I think that can't remember. There's a restroom for customers that was clean and at least 5 tables to dine with your treat. I like this spot and will definitely return!

I've been to many Rita's (mostly in GA and Long Island NY) I've always enjoyed my visits. This one was no different. The gentlemen behind the counter were very pleasant and put up with all of my "can I taste that one" without nothing less than a "of course" and a smile. I ended up getting a large mango/orange/mango ice. It was delicious and refreshing (I forgot to take a pic but it was piled high) and my friend got a cotton candy misto or blended I think and she enjoyed it. The sitting area was nice and clean. The bathroom was also. They even have a walk up window if you didn't want to go inside. This was another great Rita's experience in the books!

What a great concept, Italian ice with frozen custard on top. A great creamy yet refreshing option. We had the tropical sorbet style ice with custard soft serve on top, excellent and our server was so nice, offering a couple of samples before we purchased.

Legit. Hella good. Yes please. Gimme more. Capiche??!! What else can I say?? Give it a shot, you can thank me later. And in the words of a 12 year old, "I can see myself spending all my money here ."

Such a tasty sweet treat. We came here after a very savory dinner meal and it absolutely hit the spot. Staff were friendly and the location was clean.

I just wanted to let the last reviewer know they do update their flavors on their website, and if you put their name in maps and click on them, it'll say last updated and the time (see pic I uploaded)! I agree they need shaded seating outside, even if it is 109 like today (in that case I'd opt to stay in the AC). Now on with my original review: I loved this place-their cheery atmosphere, the friendly and helpful down-home service, and last but not least, the incredibly tasty frozen ice and custard! They have a revolving menu of ice flavors to choose from, and the lady let us know we could try every one if needed. I stopped after two because the cherry was so delicious-and she's the one who suggested the combo, or gelati. It was like a swirl of chocolate custard and the cherry ice. Oh. My. God was that ever good. Then she gave us a taste of the vanilla custard with the mango ice and my guy was hooked on that. We ate them for a half hour in car on ride home and didn't have any issues with melting that one reviewer spoke about, so maybe not being outside helps (?) for whoever said they need different cups to insulate better? I love their cups and boo to styrofoam anyway-it's bad for the environment-my vote is to keep their current cups. They're fine. This place was out of the way for us, but it was totally worth the trip and we'll be back. There's a Vietnamese place next door so we'll probably try their coconut chicken curry beforehand next time. Yum yum!

I am so thankful to Ray the owner for opening this franchise right here in Tucson! I take my wife and daughter there all the time. Got a few gallons when we got married last year. Everybody loved it! Knew they would, it's some of the best stuff around. (Way better than eegees)I had one of their oreo custard sandwiches last time we went, it was quite tasty! A very good desert for after dinner at the Hawaiian place next door. Very good, convenient and accessible location!

We brought the grandbabies in for Labor Day weekend, and had gelati's of different flavors and sizes. They were so thick and delicious! There is custard on the bottom and the top, the most delicious, thick custard!! Service was excellent, they let us try different flavors, and told us what was popular, and what we should try for our first time. Great experience all the way around!

This place was a wonderful surprise! We went in not knowing what to expect and both times were greeted with great service and lots of yummy choices.They let you sample any flavors you'd like (without feeling weird about it) and have both creamy custards and super refreshing slushes that taste like real fruit. The custard is really light and airy with a marshmallowy taste and is a new favorite for me.The one downside is the seating is limited, but easy to overcome if you take it with, or eat in the car. We'll definitely be back!
