Fortunately, we looked at the show map and vendor list before we went. There also were show guides with locator maps at the front desk (you typically wouldn't enter the show here as the paid parking lots are on the ends). Fortunately, vendor signage has been limited to their spaces, and the sponsor had signs indicating which vendors were in the courtyard, ballroom, etc. Because this show is located on a motel property, there still are a lot of nooks and crannies. Ideally, you go in with a plan. Walking through, we saw plenty of gems and minerals, jewelry, singing bowls, and more. One vendor had lovely birds on amethyst (sold separately). Pretty and unique, though he shared that the birds are made in a factory. Another vendor had nothing priced so each item was 'negotiated.' Other vendors came from Finland, Australia, India, etc. We'll check the online vendor list and show map next year to decide what we want to see.

Poorly organized. Impossible to find your way around. A visual assault of vendors' tacky signage strewn about everywhere and zero signage representing basic directions or locations. To improve this show (or any of the public shows for that matter), ban vendors from installing signage everywhere except their own tent/stall and put up useful, clear, simple, locational and directional signage in common areas. On the whole all of the gem and mineral shows in Tucson are poorly organized and even more poorly curated, with the exception of the ones at the convention center and GDX. You will walk miles and miles passing by thousands of vendors selling the EXACT SAME THING, much of it cut/fabricated in mass production factories in China - notice the piles and piles of boxes with Chinese writing on them everywhere you look at virtually every show. It is extremely exhausting and mentally taxing to sort the quality, true-source vendors from the massive numbers of mere resellers of questionable quality items. I think I will just stick with AGTA in NYC instead of this assault of chaos. We all need less stress in life, not more.

At the River Park Inn. This has been one of my all time favorite shows, there are all my old friends and favorite vendors as well as new interesting displays. I don't think there has been one year that I have not bought at least one unique find. This a limited time for the World to land on our doorstep.
