** AVOID *** Rip-Off Artists who will prey on you !ALAS.. Prudence Car Care was sold a year ago and it is NOT the Same TRUSTWORTHY, HONEST SERVICE it was for so many years. Such a shame !For THREE YEARS, my college student took their car to Prudence Car Care. We TRUSTED THEM and were not notified that Prudence had been sold to someone that rip you off!For the final time before my WC drives the car across the country, Ryan tells us that apparently $2,000 worth of work needs to be done.... "OK.. let's have a conversation"--When I called and questioned it, I was told by Ryan that "this work should have been done at 60,000 miles and never was" and "he wouldn't trust the car to drive across the country without it". -- Um?? The car has been at Prudence Care Car for numerous times over the past THREE YEARS and NO ONE but Ryan noticed all this work needed to be done???-- This work included replacing tires that had 18,000 miles on them-- We didn't have a choice as the car has to make it to the east coast.-- Ryan also said he would call to have a further conversation with us... guess what he went home. When I called and spoke to Tony, Tony didn't know anything about the repairs or the $2,000 bill.-- I took the receipt to MY REPUTABLE Car Center and they reviewed the history on CarFax.. hmmm...-- several repairs were done AT PRUDENCE CAR CARE, when I told Ryan this, his next excuse was "I just bought this place a year ago and have no records from work done on cars prior to that"... um?? Why didn't he say that, I would have brought in the paper copies-- Ryan tried to sell my child a new starter, but Prudence Car Care put a new starter in 13 months ago.** GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!! PRUDENCE CAR CARE WILL RIP YOU OFF **

I was very excited to find a Honda/Acura shop nearby. One of the reviews mentioned being happy with the service for their old car which is newer than mine. That gave me hope. I was not disappointed. Very friendly people both on the phone and in person. I was thrilled with the work and the price to go over my 1997 Acura. They checked everything, told me the costs, then fixed it all. It's really hard to get anyone who can work on a 25 year old car at all. I not only got that, they were *good* at doing what needed to be done. 100% will be back.

This place is fair, reasonably priced, and pretty fast at solving your Honda's problems. On our first visit just yesterday, the finished price to replace compliance bushings and control arms on our 2003 Accord was less than half of what a local Honda dealer quoted us. I'm pretty upset with that dealer, as I've purchased two vehicles there and have been taking all three of my Honda vehicles there for service for several years.

I'm gonna come right out and say it:The absolute best damn auto shop ever.Let's face it: female + car problems + auto shop = disaster 9 times out of 10. I have never liked having to go to the auto shop. Just the way it is.Having said that, thanks to the Yelp reviews, I decided to check out Prudence Car Care for my Honda Fit that was making some unsettling noises. You Yelpers were right on the money.Roy is as down home and honest as I've ever met. When he called to update me on what they'd found (broken transmission mount), he told me that this could be step one. There might be more but they had to get the mount fixed first. I said ok to the repair and crossed my fingers.A couple of hours later, Roy called to tell me, Yep - that was all it was. You can pick up your car this afternoon. I didn't the usual, "Well, while we were in there, we noticed your flux capacitor was a little dirty, your thingamobob was backwards and your do-hickey was upside down. That'll be an addition $7934.91 please."Honest service at a great price and down to earth people. If you drive a Honda or an Acura and need service, do yourself a favor. Go to Prudence.

BEWARE!!! I loved Prudence Car Care from the time I began taking my Honda Civic there around 2006, and continued to recently with my Honda Fit. Unfortunately, this business changed owners in 2023. Rod is no longer involved. While I cannot comment on the actual quality of the service itself at this point, I have major complaints about significant work being done without my approval, being charged multiple times for the same items on my invoice, and being charged almost $400. for an 18-month battery that was not needed and that retails for $140. I plan to revisit the shop in person tomorrow. Do not approve any work over the phone-obtain and read carefully a list of work to be performed in writing prior to approving anything!!! I was not aware that Rod was no longer heading up the shop-I trusted him implicitly based on my experience over many years and did not return to review the planned work before approving. Don't make the same mistake that I did. Beware and avoid the rip-off.

Service Requested: Replace interior blower motor with Honda Factory part which was estmated to be $400(ish) as quoted. After hearing a high pitch whine later that week, i checked the part with a flashlight. Ill be damned if the motor wasn't a crappy cheap china part that at the time i checked the local part store was under $70. I was a little annoyed but given this was the new owner, i figured I'd feel out the new ownership and give him a chance to explain. I explained that the quote was for the Honda FACTORY part number on the estimate and not the Autozone- O'reilley special . The owner was very nervous and pretended to want to make it right. He asked for my receipt and like a fool, I gave it to him and watched him throw it in his file cabinet. He said he would call me as soon as he located a Honda part. (I had actually called Chapman and it was in fact available in acouple of days.) He never did call me back and I forgot about it till i had to borrow the car quite a while later from my son. I had assumed my son had taken care of it since the whine is pretty bad on high setting. I know that if i take it back now it will be a royal hassle since Id given up my receipt anyway.Our Honda has been going to Rod at Prudence since 2006 when the factory warranty expired. The extended family has used Rod's Prudence Car Care even longer for numerous hondas. Rod was the most professional and honest mechanic I have ever known and would only use Factory Honda parts when possible. I didn't mi d the extra cost for quality and a piece of mind. Furthermore he would tell you if the Honda parts were unavailable...which almost never happened.I have never been back to Prudence CC and I will never recommed this place again. It's a real shame this guy has no ethics. Shops like this give all mechanics a bad name and its sad this guy is capitalizing on Rod's legacy. It's probably been almost a year to be transparent but I feel it's important that that you beware and check their work...especially at premium they charge. I believe you should get what you pay for and with Rod - we did! Are good business ethics dead now??

Have been coming here since about 2009. PRUDENCE CAR CARE has excellent customer service. Very fair prices. Stands behind their work. Has knowledgeable, well trained certified mechanics with very little employee turn over. All the staff are professional. I always feel confident that my car has been fully serviced or repaired when I leave and I am given a full explanation of what was done. Never once had to go back and say something is not right, but if I did, I would know they stand behind all the work they do. oh and the waiting room is cozy and comfortable!
