Ponderosa Cactus

Esmeralda did a lovely garden design for our home. I wanted only minimum of water and something easy to care for. We have a beautiful selection of cactus blooming in spring and even some other times of the year and have had many compliments on her work. Everything was done on time and on budget and she utilized many of the existing plantings as well. Thank you for the beautiful work!

This is a great yard for reasonable priced unusual plants and cacti. I see a lot of cactus and I saw and bought some that were new to me. I met Esmarelda today for the first time. She was so helpful, I m already thinking what I can go back for. She is working on a special order for me over the weekend. Hope it turns out. There is a small gift shop. This is a family owned business since the 1980's. Glad they are still here.

I stopped by here for the first time expecting to check out some different cactus varieties and pricing for a front yard project but they have so much more than just cactus and I ended up leaving with a plethora of healthy flowering plants to do an upgrade to a flower bed in my backyard. The staff was so help and not inconvenienced by all my questions, ready to make plant recommendations based on the sun exposure I told them. I thought their pricing was very reasonable and every plant there looked ready to thrive. I will definitely be back for more plants in the future. And can you believe not only did the sales rep help me carefully pack my Mazda CX-5 with all these plants she brought out paper to line the floor and protect it from dirt! It's always awesome to support local but it feels even better when you get 5 star service. I'm telling everyone, check here first when you're shopping plants!

We came here in search of a few cactus to add to our landscaping. We are new to the area, so not very knowledgeable about which cactus would work in our yard. We had a wonderful experience shopping here! So many varieties and sizes to choose from. The folks here are so helpful and answered all our questions. We found three species that met our nerds and found the prices to be very reasonable compared to other nurseries. We will come here whenever we need landscape advice

Esmerelda, Ponderosa cactus owner, and her team were more than knowledgeable and helpful, they were magicians with all these gorgeous succulence, cactus, plants and accessories. Their prices were very reasonable! Their selection was vast and their desire to help was refreshing! You bet, I'm returning again and again!

This new location is awesome. Convenient, well laid out and as always great customer service. We call Ponderosa for plants on a weekly basis. This newer location will be more convenient from my jobs in the foothills. Good job E. Keep up the good work.

This nursery is a wonderland! It is a work of art around every turn. I highly recommend you stop by here if you live in Tucson or are just visiting. The plan quality is top-notch and the local-owned care and concern is almost unseen these days. Thank you Esmerelda and staff!

I rented cactus from Ponderosa Cactus for my wedding for a fraction of the cost to purchase cut flowers. The cacti themselves were beautiful, but I was most impressed with how well the staff styled the cactus. The table decor looked like a feature in Sunset Magazine. I highly recommend their services.

I was referred by a friend and came in a few times hoping to find some ideas for my newly renovated back yard and upon my visit... I found this company is very unorganized and you can see the employees are being forced to work in a very chaotic environment. The management staff/owners never seem to be available for assistance in regards to specific questions about their inventory and don't seem to take the time to properly educate their staff to do so. Unfortunately it's a beautiful nursery but I will not be returning based off my past experiences and the 1/5 star rating is more than generous.
