Platinum Fitness

$30/month to work out on outdated, poorly maintained equipment. They don't repair broken equipment, and currently can't even replace the batteries in the wall clock- it's been dead for a few weeks now. I only work out here on the days when I am not working out with my wife at Planet Fitness, which is a much nicer facility and charges half as much.

I just became a member to this gym and so far I like it. It is clean and the equipment looks new. Not too crowded. So far I'm happy. I just wish they stayed open later on the weekends.

Platinum fitness is hands down, the best gym in Tucson if you want friendly staff, and a spacious workout area. it is the place to go. Rarely have to fight a crowd to get a workout in. Most folks there are there to workout and not stare at the phone while holding up equipment like modt other gyms. Rarely to have the muscle heads slamming weights and groaning without staff putting a stop to it.

I've been going here for 4 years now and it's usually dirty. Sanitizer is usually out. Paper towels? Available at select locations around the gym, while being unstocked at all others. Basically, it doesn't seem like anyone's cleaning equipment regularly or keeping sanatizer or paper towels stocked around the gym. They usually have someone upfront or in the back room near the front desk but they're always chillin'. Not sure what their job duties are, maybe enrollments only? Also, where is the manager on duty? It's like no one takes pride in this place. There are a lot of areas of opportunity here to bring this establishment up to standard. I dont feel like l'm asking for a lot. On the bright side, they replaced a lot of the cardio equipment recently, and I like that.

Staff is extremely friendly but...Showers are NASTY! There were only 4 and one was broken. The others were clearly not cleaned in weeks. There were dead bugs on the shower floor and thick dust build up on top of the soap dispensers. Drainage is also a problem. Machines were ok but a lot of them looked like they were purchased from several garage sales and mismatched. Enough cardio machines and free weights. Apparently there is a cinema but I didn't check it out. Overall...not remarkable.

I would give them a negative rating if it were possible. I terminated membership because of the extremely poor conditions of the gym. It was essentially in filthy condition. I rendered proper 30 day notice as required by my agreement, and THEY CONTINUE TO BILL ME IRREGARDLESSLY. Once you join this GYM, you can get out! Beware and Avoid this pit. It's practices are horrid.

Just go one block up the road to LA Fitness for an overall better experience.After being a member for over a year the front desk had me flagged down for being 3 days late on a payment and would not waive the fee despite the half of the time the equipment is broken. Terribly run down gym with no perks or benefits for member.

The facility is poorly maintained. Machines are constantly breaking because no one inspects them. It then takes months for them to Jerry rig them back together. Staff is pretty nice, but only a couple of them actually clean up or do anything. I have tried to get ahold of the manager and he must manage from somewhere offsite and is never available and doesn't return calls. I'm done...

I have been a Platinum fitness member for many years now and they have finally helped me cancel my membership with them. Over the years of being a member I have seen many great people decide to leave after dealing with management at this gym. The equipment is continuing to fall apart and there is not a continuous cleaning crew helping stop any COVID Spread. The user is the main cleaning crew with a person actively cleaning yet to be seen regularly during my visits. Now for the best part..... Today is the last day for any group fitness classes and childcare. We had a weeks notice conveniently right after all of us that pay at the beginning of the month were charged. They say we need to give a months notice to cancel but they can change available services without proper notice at all... IMO this criminal and should not be acceptable.... IF YOU ARE A PARENT.....this is not the gym for you. They no longer support you as a member with childcare. If you are one of the people like my wife and I that only use the gym for group fitness including CROSSFIT, This is not the gym for you. Honestly the owner and management is letting everyone down Hope this helped you not waste your money...................................David
