My preceding three generations have had prostate cancer. When I moved to Tucson, I found Dr. Peter Burrows to be my urologist. At that time, I had been taking Alfuzosin for 5 years for my benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or enlarged prostate. Dr. Burrows had suggested the possibility for an Urolift procedure. In concept it is supposed to open up the prostate. Several years later, I decided to go ahead with Urolift as the medication didn't seem to be working as well. In the latter part of 2021, Dr. Burrows performed the Urolift procedure. When the procedure didn't seem to be working, I saw Dr. Burrows again for my 6 month follow-up. He told me that one of the Urolift staples had floated into my bladder. As a result, calcium was building up on it and had formed a stone that was too large to pass. I was going to need surgery to remove the stone and the staple, requiring general anesthesia. At that point, I had lost confidence in Dr. Burrows and found another urologist. By the time I found the new urologist and got in for an appointment, the stone had grown to be more than inch across. Furthermore, the staple was not floating in the bladder, but rather was imbedded into the bladder lining. It was so imbedded that it couldn't be pulled out. Instead, it had to be cut down close to the bladder lining and then have the loose end tucked into the lining to prevent future stones. It is my belief that the staple did not float into the bladder (going upstream) but rather was shot accidentally into the bladder during the Urolift procedure. In my research of the Urolift procedure, I never saw mention of any possible complication as being an Urolift staple ending up in the bladder. I wanted men to be aware of this possibility and to be informed that this occurred to me under the care of Dr. Peter Burrows.

Never even got an appointment because the office staff lied to me about my coverage. My PCP and I both called on separate occasions to check if they were credentialed under my plan, and the office staff said yes. After waiting over a month for my appointment, I found out Dr Burrows is out of network and my insurance denied my pre-certification. When I spoke to the office manager, she blamed me for the error, saying it's my responsibility to check if they're covered. How am I supposed to check when the office staff doesn't even know their own coverage??? I'm sure Dr Burrows is great but his office staff sucks.

Great office and Dr. Peter Burrows is efficient and awesome with his approach to solving issues. He saved us so much money and time when we were dealing with a diagnosis and treatment from a fertility doctor that had described HCG injections that I didn't need. Best decision we've made in the process was going to Dr. Burrows for a more in depth approach to solving our problem.

My 83 year old father-in-law was seen in the ER for blood in his urine while he was on vacation. He was given a catheter and sent home with instructions to follow up with a urologist. He wasn't established with a urologist so we called the Arizona Center for Urology to get him an appointment. We informed the office that he was bleeding, was weak and dizzy and had a catheter inserted 4 days prior. The office called us back the following day to tell us that Dr. Burrows could see him in 2 weeks. 2 WEEKS!?! We promptly called another urologist and got him an appointment the next day. Physicians should make allowances for emergency cases or, at the very least, make arrangements or recommendations to another doctor within the medical community. Patient care should be their first priority. I can't believe they thought it was acceptable to let my FIL suffer for another two weeks without being seen.

Failed UroLift. UroLift procedure failed almost immediately after Dr. Burrows performed it. 4 of 5 implants missing. He could not explain to me how or why. I contacted the maker of UroLift, and they told me the only time they had ever seen something like that was if the surgeon incorrectly deployed the implants. Was also misled as to whether the implant debris was still in my body. Saw a different Urologist and he immediately took steps to show me that the implant material was indeed still in my body. Am considering corrective steps now. Am so glad I went to a different Urologist.

Five months ago I was referred to Dr. Burrows by my primary doctor. The day I walked into his office I felt just fine. 36 hours after a very invasive procedure I became sicker than I have ever been in my life, vomiting, loose bowels, fever, body aches, the whole gamut. I have been through four sets of antibiotics now and had another invasive procedure performed. I have been charged co-pays for each visit although I should not be there at all. And I am still carrying that virus in my body. Visiting this guy was the biggest mistake of the year so far.

They never answer their phone, and don't call you back when you leave them a message. I am an existing patient of theirs, and I have finally given up on making an appointment after weeks of trying. Not reliable!

We called the office to get my father into an appointment and we were told they would get his records fro the ED visit and decide on seeing him on Monday, this was Friday at close of business so sounded reasonable. Multiple calls on Monday and they were trying to get the records from the ED. Finally Tuesday morning they had not called back so my 84 year old father called them and they looked at the records and Dr Burrows told them to make him an appointment. They told him they would see him in 2 weeks. My father was sick and bleeding and needed to be seen sooner then that. We called another urologist who got him in in 2 days. Very poor service, if they would have told us they would not see him we could have called someone else on Friday, instead of waiting 5 days. I would not recommend this urologist or his office. Disappointing
