I adopted a cat here over 10 years ago. I got to know the staff, as they adopted out of the Petco where I worked. I decided to become a volunteer and have been volunteering weekly for 10 years this year. I've since adopted a second cat from Paws. The staff are amazing. Caring and knowledgeable. The cats (with few exceptions) have run of the house. The shelter is No-Kill and offers a TNR (trap, neuter, release) program. Cats have all been tested, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and chipped prior to adoption. Adoptions are also done out of the Petsmart located at Grant and Swan, so you can always stop in and visit kitties there as well. These cats are well loved, well fed, and get plenty of treats! There are fundraisers several times a year and they are lots of fun! If you are looking for your next furry friend, stop in weekdays between 9-3, or visit the website. There is also a Facebook page.

This is a wonderful shelter for a wide range of cats. There are so many different cats with different looks, different personalities, and different needs (several pictured here, available to adopt). They provide lots of love, personalized care, inside and outside spaces, and of course all of the necessities here. They are a small independent non-profit with limited space and operated mostly through volunteers. Based on space and staffing, they may understandably not be at the same level of responsiveness and social media presence as businesses or larger shelters.

I have adopted two cats from PawsitivelyCats just because their shelter is immaculate and the cats are allowed to run free (disposition and health permitting). Sheryl, the director, is a wonderful caring individual and they will match you with the perfect cat . I requested one that no one else wanted and I have a wonderful companion!
