Ott Family YMCA

The location is great, facility is nice ( old but clean) and the pool is nicely heated. But the pool hours stink! They open the pool early in the morning and close it by noon! It's winter and many of us snowbirds would like to swim in the warm sun. The emails kept changing the pool hours and even today I got there at the wrong time because the hours were incorrect. Manager has a bit of an attitude.Weight room is great but please please control people using cell phones while hogging a machine for half a hour.

The main reasons I go to Ott are the fair membership prices with no long term contracts or hidden greedy fees, and the full sized basketball court that has one main court or two side courts (6 baskets, sometimes only 3 when the curtain is down). The workout space is cardio oriented, but there is a stationary machine for pretty much every lift. Free weight area is on the smaller side too, but the weights are super nice, with an additional newer rack with smaller dumbbells up to 20lbs, so there's plenty to work with. Also, there's a smith machine squat rack, olympic lifting platform and squat rack, 3 different leg press variations, and plenty of adjustable benches, bench press racks with incline, decline, and flat. The only negative is the parking lot is difficult. It's narrow with a narrower entrance, makes it hard to get in, park, and avoid other drivers. Otherwise this is a great gym, especially for shooting hoops/pickup.

I enrolled my kids for swimming lesson this summer for private lesson but it's been two weeks waiting their call since they posted on the enrollment they will contact us. I paid the $50 enrollment but this is a waste of money since they don't call me for two weeks now. This is the YMCA OTT and the one near city center.

When I first started coming to the Ott YMCA, I was so dissatisfied. Problem after problem, from closing the pool for no reason, to kicking me out of the pool while personal sessions were allowed, to lack of communication between staff... HOWEVER, after complaining and expressing myself over email and in person, they actually made changes! I now go here anywhere from 2-5 times per week to take the exercise courses, swim, or lift. Exercise instructors Jerry and Sandi are so encouraging. Jerry especially provides numerous versions of a workout to accommodate each person's ability. He also asks questions, like if we have had any injuries, so that he can provide even more alternatives. One of the lifeguards Erika deserves a shoutout too! I haven't seen her in a while, but she helped me improve my swimming with simple tips, and really builds you up. The best thing about this place is that it's also family friendly. I love coming here. :)

I called to ask a simple question if authorization was given for my kinship/foster kids through DCS, Katy answered the phone and transferred me to Olivia's extension and Angelic/Angela answered said she would look right into that- I've now been on hold for an hour and ten minutes to be exact. I called four different times from another phone to ask that someone please let her know I'm still on hold in case she forgot. Katy just transfers me again and again four times and said there phone lines allow for more then one call to be passed through so they should hear it ring and answer. (It was to hard to go or send someone else down stairs to say hey phone line.. takes a minute to walk down stairs)! Four transfers still nothing. I called asked to speak to a manager expressed my frustration to Debbie who answered she took my name and number called me back within ten minutes and answered my question. The customer experience today is totally uncalled for. I'm at work which makes this even more of a frustration to be on hold for over an hour. Horrible customer service! Unacceptable!

Nice Y and friendly staff. The equipment wasn't the newest but it worked for the hours tat we were there.

The staff is friendly and welcoming! The facility is clean and spacious with lots of class options and a heated outdoor pool!

Love the facilities and staff is friendly. Layout is a bit confusing but with time it should come naturally to all.

We have been very happy with our membership. Silver sneakers has been awesome for our classes. They now have enough staff to keep up with volume there. Good place to meet new faces. MUCH BETTER than a bar.
