I was gifted a gold krugerrand and stopped in to talk with them. The person who helped me was very straightforward, very honest and easy to talk to. I felt I got a fair share, they did take a percentage out for themselves. Clearly they need to make profit buying and selling so I didn't have an issue with this and was prepared not to get full price. After properly testing the coin for authenticity, he filled out a police report which again is very standard and gave me cash. I was happy with my experience selling and will consider using them again in the future.

Let me just state, if you want to go to a great coin shop, go someplace else. I am a avid collector and I know how much items are worth. Every so often I pop in to this shop and inquire about value of items, coins, bars, rounds, etc. Almost 95% of the time the are trying to cheat you. They off prices comparable to any Pawn Shop. I understand people need to make money, but to knowingly know a piece is valuable and offer a fraction of its worth is super unethical. For example: last week I took a rare Morgan Silver dollar in for their appraisal, I was offered $25 at Old Pueblo, I took the same coin to Ambassador, and Arizona Coin and received appraisals of over $200. Now, I know the value of this coin, but the shear contrast of professionalism is amazing. This hasn't been the only item, I have taken Gold Coins, Peace Dollars, and other rare coins and always get a low price offer from OPC. This week in fact, I took a coin in, one appraiser gave me a quote of $149, I declinded, he asked for another opinion from the other appraiser that was there, he barely looked at the coin and had no knowledge is the first appraisers offer and walked by and said $45. This place is a joke, I think the only honest Appraisers are Ben, and the hispanic lady that works at this shop. They are the only thorough inspectors of items and offer a reasonable price, comparable to Arizona Coin and Ambassador. Not sure who the other guys working the counter are, but they are not only non personable but they dismiss you and your items before even looking at them. I will tell you this, I will never take any items to this coin shop again for an appraisal, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they failed time and time again. It is my suggestion, if you want a good honest appraisal or offer for your items, take them to another coin shop. They are much more reputatble in my opinion.

Best place in town to buy or sell. Frances is my go to person. I have only known her for a few weeks but she has been extraordinary to work with. I trust them to the fullest extent.

Yep, I went there last week and Ben was awesome. I took in my childhood collection of domestic and foreign coins and bills, plus a few silver Mardi Gras doubloons, and traded those in for a fair amount of cash. Ben treated me very respectfully, and he really seems to know his stuff. Afterwards, I had the opportunity to see a guy spill a lot of silver coins in the parking lot! They sure were pretty, glistening in the sun :)All in all it was a great experience, def recommend to anyone.

Always good to see Francis and everyone at the shop. Ben's ok, too...haha. Picked up some silver rounds and sterling jewelry plus some copper. They are always ready to make a great deal! A favorite stop in Tucson.

The buyer was very dismissive and handled my coins without gloves. I left without selling anything, and I was lucky to find another shop that treated me with respect and gave me a fair price for my coins. I will never return to Old Pueblo coins.

Made my first purchase from a state away. Sent an email and got a very rapid response. All communication was quick. I was able to work with James and had an excellent transaction. I received the coin today it looks even better in person. I had a previous experience with The Engineer that was also excellent but did not make a purchase at that time. Glad I finally got to buy a coin from OPC. Coin arrived safe and fast. Very easy transaction. Definitely will make another purchase when something they have catches my eye.
