Nickel's Diner

Never had I had such great service that I flag down my server to hand her money, along with everyone else at my table. Her name was Libby.You get a genuine diner feel as soon as you walk into this plac. Food is good - must try their salsa. Their machaca is really good. Boy was I impressed and pleased to find this gem in the Sonoran desert.

I eat here 2-3 times a year while in town. Diner food: breakfast and lunch. Everything I've ever had has been tasty and served promptly. Staff is always great. I usually sit at the counter. The air conditioning works and parking is plentiful.

Very cute restaurant! It's like stepping back in time. The shake was delicious! The hot dog was all beef and cooked perfectly. The curly fries were soggy and greasy. This place was slammed and people were waiting for a table. The waitresses even though running around kept everyone's drinks filled and were very attentive. The team work in this place is spot on. Everyone was smiling and pleasant. The staff is incredible.

Excellent breakfast. They offer 1/2 sizes that was perfect. The coffee cake muffin was delicious!

Perfect in every way!My sister and I came here on a Saturday morning, and the number of cars outside concerned us. But we found a counter seat (and found out we could have had patio seating as well). It's charming: great 50s decor (particularly fun was the ladies' room with beefcake photos of celebrities on blue walls). We both got exactly what we wanted, exactly as ordered. Libby the manager was a one-woman miracle worker, literally doing two things at once and talking to herself, then to customers, calling us "honey" and warm as well as efficient. I would return there in a heartbeat.

We are regulars here. The girls always take care of us. Super amazing service & food. I always order the same thing (chilaquiles) and it's like a home cooked meal. It's always busy which is a good thing for the restaurant. Best diner in Southern Arizona.

Typically eat breakfast here with my dad a few times a month, however, went for lunch with my mom and had inedible food. My French Dip was room temperature, mom's hamburger - near raw. Onion rings saturated in grease (the temp of the fryer was off or way too old...) The food was timed bad by the kitchen. All was sent back, but management was on top of it.... (sarcasm) 10 min after this all occurred. [When food gets sent back... management should be on it] . We left with no bill (we didn't eat anything presented to us) but empty stomachs. Essentially lost an hour of our lives.

Came in around 11 am and decided to order breakfast. Oh it was so good. Had the breakfast sandwich. Tables were all taken so sat on the covered/enclosed patio. Great service and the best tasting food! Can't wait to return.

Nickel's is the perfect small town, family diner. Every time I eat here, I leave feeling full and happy. The food is great, even when ordering to-go, and the staff is always so friendly. There's a reason it's been a staple in Rio Rico for so long!
