Nhu Lan Vietnamese Food Truck

I was so surprised when I found this place while visiting Boxcar in Tucson. We started with the shrimp spring rolls and they were delicious, the peanut sauce was amazing. For our entrees we had a porn banh mi and tofu pad Thai, both so flavorful and the portion was good! The employees were so nice. While all seating is outside, it has a great ambiance with music playing and heaters on cold nights. I highly recommend this place!

The server yesterday afternoon was the worst service I have experienced in my life. It was disheartening. The food was mediocre. The veggie egg rolls had no flavor other than grease. My lo mein had no flavor and had half a bottle of soy sauce. I decided before I even tried it that I would absolutely never come back because of the service and especially because there are two other great restaurants in box yard.

Located inside boxyard as a permanent feature which is pretty interesting. Of note, to get into this space, you'll need your license after 8pm since it's a bar/club area. The space is also pretty chill - outdoors with a DJ playing music during the nighttime. The food was decent - I got a roast pork banh mi, which was a bit on the drier side and mild in flavor; but did enjoy the pho quite a bit (lots of meats provided and tasty soup). My friend got the salmon which he thought was pretty good but did take a bit long to make. I loved that this was a family run space and am happy to support them. Would check it out again.

Assuming that this is the same place in the Box yard in downtown Tucson. A bit of a wait to get food but not complaining because the food was delicious. Clearly fresh food that has great flavoring. The banh mi sandwich and the pork rice noodles were delicious! Only complaint was that there wasn't enough fish sauce at first but the restaurant owners were happy to give more upon request. Very impressed with the quality of food provided! Plus the Box Yard had a fun environment with numerous places to sit and get a drink while you wait for your food. Enjoy!

Update: I first tried this food truck over five years ago when Nhu Lan was brand new. I'm happy to see that Nhu Lan is still succeeding with friendly service and excellent food! Over the years, Nhu Lan's banh mi has been consistently tasty. The baguette is always delicious and fresh, the grilled pork is savory and well-marinaded, and the vegetables are pickled and crisp. The $5 banh mi is a good value because of its quality. I frequently check Arizona Beer House's Facebook to see when Nhu Lan will be there. The last time I picked up food, I was informed that Nhu Lan is typically at Arizona Beer House the first and last Monday of the month.Tip: During busy times, be sure to call Nhu Lan to place your order. You can pick up your food right when you arrive to avoid the wait!

They told us it would take 30-35 minutes to get our order for chicken wings, five eggrolls. It took over an hour?! It's insane.. They should definitely re-think staffing of their workflow on making food..

I ordered the Banh Mi Thit chicken sandwich at their Boxyard location last night. It took a long time to get it, I think because it was the only restaurant people were ordering from last night in the courtyard. The sauce on it was just ok. I wouldn't order it again, but I would try something else next time.

High quality flavorful food with reasonable prices, but a long wait. Parked at Pennington and Stone. They seemed like they were backed up, but decided to take my chances and was glad I did. Ordered the #11 banh mi with grilled pork. First the bun - it has to be super fresh and it was. Second, the meat (typically pork belly) has to be flavorful, not fatty and this was well-marinated and it really came through. Lots of fresh crunchy veggies, and best of all there was tons of cilantro which is just the way I like it. If you have the time on your lunch hour (my wait was 15 minutes), this food truck is definitely worth it.

I've eaten at this food truck several times, but forget to write about it. Every time I've been it's been really good. They took some time off due to Covid reasons, but they did a good job to adjust. They had health department Covid guidelines, the staff wore mask, and hand sanitizer was provided on the counter. The food was great as always. I ordered a fair amount of food and make a few meals out of it. I had the Bahn Mi, cha goi or egg rolls, and the bun or vermicelli bowl. The portions were generous and food was excellent. It's great to see them serving food again.

Great spot at the Boxyard! Quick eat! We got the rolls and rice and they were both fantastic! Highly recommend
