It was a unique experience to have Mexican and sushi. We didnt get off to the greatest start when the waitress said, "no we don't have salmon, but we have tuna it's the same thing." Which it is not the same... lolI personally liked it and didn't have any issues. My friend who doesn't normally get sick, had an upset stomach. It was good overall. Liked their chips and salsa too! Didn't try any alcoholic beverages so can't comment on them.

I really enjoy trying different things and when I found out that Tucson has a Japanese Mexican fusion restaurant, I had to try it. My son and I ate here for lunch and there was only one other table of customers in the back. We were sat across the television and the Mexican music videos playing was so loud we could barely hear each other. I want to feel like I am at a restaurant and not a dance club. I think this was for our young waitress who was very preoccupied with her phone. I had the feeling she cared much more about being entertained than us as customers. The food was very good, and I really enjoyed the chips and salsa that were brought out as an appetizer. We shared two sushi rolls. My son ordered the HACHIRO SHRIMP ROLL (Shrimp, covered in flamin hot cheetos bathed with nacho cheese). I ordered the CORDON BLUE (Chicken, beef with gratin cheese). I also ordered the SONORENSE (Beef, mayonnaise, grilled onions, mozzarella cheese, green pepper, avocado, and tomato). Our waitress repeated the order back to us, but the Sonorense never came out (we were not billed for it). This is likely because she was preoccupied with her phone. At this point, we were the only ones here and I did not make a big deal about it as the music from the TV was so loud, I just wanted to leave.

A friend talked me into trying this new place. I checked the reviews and I decided to go for the tuna tostada. The tostada was a very good size and had tons of super tasty seared tuna, pickled onions and cucumbers. My friend opted for the Naufragio roll that had a lot of rice and not enough tuna nor salmon but the side of shrimp ceviche that came with was to die for.We also ordered the 2x1 Margaritas that were not bad but not great either. The outside of the restaurant was dirty but the inside was clean enough.Their customer service was wonderful.

I have been wanting to try this place for a couple weeks, and since it is 3 minutes from where I work, yesterday was the day. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and I decided to sit at the bar. The staff is super friendly, and there is ample seating. I met Sam, the ownerand his lovely wife, and it is clear just from talking with him, there is GREAT pride in every thing that is prepared. It was suggested I try the Naufrago roll, and I asked for it to be a bit spicy. I was expecting a typical "roll"....but what I got was visually extraordinary, and a LOT of food. The flavor of the roll was such a perfect combination of flavors, I just stopped chewing and let my taste buds enjoy. The roll also comes with imitation crab meat, and ceviche on the side. Truth be told I have not tried ceviche in 9 years after a bad experience. Until last night!! I smelled the ceviche on my plate and the aroma was amazing! Hands down some of the BEST ceviche I have ever had The seasoning allowed the flavors to compliment one another without any one overpowering, and it was so fresh!. The immigration crab meat was excellent, and also prepared from scratch. Sam told me everything is prepared from scratch, and it shows. I ended up calling a co worked to meet me there and help me finish my meal. She LOVED it !! We each ordered a Naufrago roll to go!I can not wait to go back and explore more of the extensive menu! Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. Family owned , and heart and soul put in every dish.

Mr Patron is a cute spot that has a nice variety of traditional dishes but specializes in Mexican sushi. I'm not a sushi fan (the rest of my party is,) but I was happy with the other options and had plenty to choose from. My friends loved the rolls they ordered (tuna hot roll and culichi roll) and I really enjoyed my beef taco and cheese enchilada combo. We also tried both the Choco and red velvet flan, which were so moist and flavorful. Service was fast and friendly, and they have a fun cocktail menu that I'll make sure to try out on my next visit.

Mr. Patron is probably the best Mexican Sushi place with a brick & mortar restaurant I've been to so far...(for Mexican Sushi food truck see Samurai Sombrero). The restaurant has a really nice ambiance. The food is great, I especially like their specialty roll: Naufrago Roll, which is served with ceviche on the side. The shrimp tostada was also very tasty. All the seafood we had were fresh, which can be hard to find in the desert town. For drinks, they've got $5 house margaritas at certain times, which is always a nice perk. I highly recommend checking this place out for a nice introduction to Mexican Sushi. If you're new to this fusion cuisine, Mr. Patron truly does a good job.

This popped up on my Yelp app. Decided to try it out. Kinda strange miss of food types, e.g. tacos, hamburgers, and sushi.I got a hamburger and sushi. Got the Mr Oatron single burger. Certainly one of the best I've had ever had. For sushi I got one with bacon in it. This was first for me. It was very good. Got ready to leave and decided to try the chocolate flan. Amazing! You need to try it. It came time to pay and they gave a QRC code. I love this option to pay. Music inside was too loud but they had a small patio which was adequate. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. Likely be back

Tried this fairly new, casual, restaurant on 22nd beside Dairy Queen for lunch on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy during lunch, but our server was slow and I had to ask for my fries that they forgot. Tried the explosion signature roll and some tacos and an order of fries. The fried Explosion Roll was good, but I did love all the different sauces they bring to your table. I love me a good sauce!!

Was a little intrigued by Mexican Sushi. It sure isn't Japanese but damn its good. Got the happy hour 3 rolls for the price of 2. We needed to take the third to go because these aren't tiny rolls. Sauces were amazing. If they ask if you want it fried just say yes. Prices are fair, definitely better than a normal sushi place. Highly recommend giving this place a try.

Chicken Teriyaki was delicious and cooked just right. Rice was perfect. Good size portion for $13.99. I wouldn't recommend the the Cadillac Margarita ($8.99)as it was really tart. Also get chips and salsa when seated. Waitress was attentive.
