Retreat from the heat!Less than an hour away from Tucson, a scenic winding road going through six ecological zones from desert to towering pines, brings you to Summerhaven and a true "Crown of The Catalinas" Mt. Lemmon Lodge. It's open for business and waiting to welcome you! Polished, rustic elegance describes the lodge, reminiscent of a Swiss chalet, or a ski lodge in Colorado, yet the vibe is comfortable, charming and upbeat as is the awesome staff; all of them friendly, knowledgeable, ready to help visitors have the best possible experience while there. Hungry after a day of hiking, or biking the many trails on the mountain or perhaps bird watching or fishing? Inside the Lodge, Beyond Bread has a great variety of absolutely delicious offerings and a large covered deck, open to the great outdoors Here for a stay? All rooms are Alpine-Styled, individually decorated, beautifully appointed, spotless and have balconies. We stayed here for our 49th wedding anniversary. Sipping wine & relaxing on ours, enjoying the light rain, (it was 'Monsoon Season") and taking in the gorgeous scenery & scents of the forest all around made for an unforgettable experience. Each room has a stone-wrapped electric fireplace. Beds are super comfortable. Coffee & tea (with all the fixin's) microwave and refrigerator are in each room. There's a genuine Swedish sauna on the 3rd level & towels are provided. Looking for a perfect gift or memento of your stay? Don't miss the marvelous array of carefully curated items from local vendors found in the Gift Shop! Want more fun? The Lodge has renewed a tradition of the 70's & 90's. Local bands will be playing music on the weekends in the Lodge's Music on the Mountain series. Talk about 'added value'...yes! Been here yet? No? You gotta go! Why? This place truly has a magic all its own.

We were here in October and it was pretty great. We're here now 12-21/24 and it's pretty bad. No creamer anywhere. Coffee only on the third floor now. There's signs everywhere that say no dogs but anyone walking by with their dog, can walk around the grounds. Nothing opens till 10-11am and everything closes around 5pm. Even the restaurant in the lodge closes at 5 during the week.

New to Tucson, so my first visit up to the lodge was in December. It's super cute. My spouse and I had a sando from the restaurant and it was tasty. I loved the Xmas decor and looks like in finer weather, the outdoor patio will be where it's at, though there is both indoor and outdoor seating. The only thing that left a bad taste in my mouth is when I asked reception for the bathroom code, they said restrooms were for customers only and the code would be on my receipt. While I understand this kind of policy, there was a long line at the restaurant and I couldn't wait. The attitude was pretty ableist and snotty so I admit it colored my visit. I'll still come back as this is a great end to a day exploring Mt. Lemmon.

We are from out of town and we purposely wanted to go up to Mount Lemmon. I noticed the hotel offered a restaurant so we decided to stop here. Admittedly, parking is not easy. Just park on the street or across the street. The lodge has gone through a major remodel from what we understand, and has re-opened in July 2023.The lodge is beautiful and we had an incredible meal, and just hung out and relaxed at the lodge. They have the fire going, and we had a chance to catch up with the owner, who gave us some history about the lodge.I would highly recommend if you're headed up to a Mount Lemmon The stop here, have a beer, wine, or have a meal either way y'all enjoy your stop.

Wow! My 1st time in the nice new lodge & it's been built with an emphasis on quality design, materials & workmanship. Unfortunately, my 88 year old companion with a walker had a bit of a time negotiating the walkway that starts at a ramp but, ends with quite a few stairs not passable with a walker. We were quickly able to learn that there is an elevator accessible from the parking garage & entered that way. Once you step out of the elevator, the front desks & gift shop is to your left & to your right is the Beyond Bread Cafe & restrooms. While I wasn't an overnight guest at the hotel, I was greeted politely & engaged with the front desk staff in friendly conversation. The staff at the cafe were also friendly & polite so we decided to get some food with only a couple of other patrons nearby. Food & drink was surprisingly good for having never been a patron at Beyond Bread before. I can see this being a great replacement to the old Ponderosa Lodge, Mt Lemmon Inn & The Alpine Lodge that all burned down many years ago. It had a nice open feel to it yet was cozy & intimate as well with a fireplace in the lobby. I'm sure there will be a lot of guests staying here before winter storms arrive to get 1st tracks at Ski Valley just up the road. To have a lodge as nice as this with a restaurant in the lobby & covered parking in winter is pretty awesome for Mt Lemmon/Summerhaven after so many years without one. I'm sure there are some kinks to work out in the next couple of months but, once snow covers the ground I'm hopeful for the success of this fine building. I look forward to returning this winter for a night or 2 or more if I can find a room available.

Last weekend, with all the snow, we planned and took a family trip to go skiing on Mt. Lemmon. I booked the nicest room at the lodge at around 500 bucks a night, for 2 nights- which is the weekend minimum, so 1000 dollars. We checked in, hauled our bags up 3 flights of stairs bc the elevator was broken. Then we arrive and our "large patio with a firepit and view" was covered with 2 feet of snow. The door to the sauna went from the back patio was suppose to be convenient, but it was stuck closed bc it had 4 ft of snow on both sides. I went to the front desk, asked if someone could come clean off the patio because I promised my 6 yr old daughter we would make smores. We went up to check out ski area, and when we arrived back to the room, they cleaned snow off the firepit, not the chairs. And not the patio We proceeded to spend the night, very loud hallways with kids running the halls. Elevator was still broken next morning. Paper sign telling us to take the stairs. Parking garage was snowed in. And "security arms" for garage were locked open - not very secure. We went skiing. Arrived back at hotel at 4pm, and left early to go back to tucson to watch the superbowl. I let front desk know we were leaving a day early, my decision, I did not expect a refund..So to my surprise this morning, I check my cc, and they charged me an extra 250.00.I called the hotel to inquire what extra I was charged, and they told me it was a cleaning fee. I asked what needed extra cleaning as we are non-smokers, and we placed all our trash in the containers provided, and didn't wear our boots in the room. The receptionist stated room service said there were 12 carpet stains, and "marshmallows everywhere" and marshmallows are not allowed near firepit. I asked her why when I said i was planning on making smores, why they came and cleaned off the firepit. She said she couldn't answer that. But they are off-limits. So I asked for them to send me pictures of the floor stains and marshmallows everywhere. Which they have still be unable to provide. So if you wanna pay 500 dollars a night for a "lodge", that has a broken elevator, patios you can't sit on, firepits you can't cook a marshmallow on, and be charged for extensive cleaning when it's snowing outside and snow gets on the floor - then this is your place. We won't be back, and I don't think unless they get better management and business practices, they will be paying the bills for long. I'd prefer someone contact me from hotel. But I assume it won't happen. David

I went into the beyond bread shop. I ordered a sandwich. Call the dollies something when I got the sandwich. The sandwich was cut in half between me and my companion. Instead of charging us the $15 they charged us nine each so we had to pay $18 for the same goddamn sandwich will I call the attorney generals office on this? I don't know but this obviously pisses me off. I might just call Visa and say we were overcharged by these professionals shifter grifters . My companion was bamboozled to think that they got a side with it even though I told him five times , no they got an order of pickles and then bought two orders of ice tea. They charged my companion three bucks for a bunch of salted sliced dill pickles in a tiny little paper cup The bread was a day, old and disgusting and so full of sugar. It taste almost like a doughnut. The food itself slapped together, was horrible to the point on my way down Mount Lemmon. I pulled over on the side of the road and threw up. The hotel we sat outside on the balcony. There was no bug screening. There was no sonic screening. There was no smoke screening of any type and so yes, the whole entire balcony was full of wasps, sting and biting wasp. Then the music band didn't set up their game properly so they're singing reggae which base was in key but the gains off so it sounds like a the siren of a police car of a police car They had no handicap places to park besides for guess on the hill, my companion is handicap. So we parked illegally in the handicap parking place that's reserved for a hotel only then we informed the administration that we were parking there because we were handicap and would that be OK they cooperative with us on that part else. I hate to say this I would've called on this to my lawyer and the American with disabilities association for a lawsuit against them not providing handicap accessSo one point plus there Their hotel was clean however, the fire marshal needs to go in there and see if it's overcrowded because there is no way we could stand in line for a sandwich To the point that three people from Quebec, all one percent elite specials cut in line and the line took 90 minutes from the back and tried to walk in front of us. I walked in front of them and they gave me a bunch of lip the back of them complained and they said all we were here shut up you racist and then a battle of words commenced between that guy and the three Quebec one percent special white privilege people that think they could cut in front of 30 people waiting in lineThe staff did nothing they didn't even stop them a few of them snickered at the whole event the white one special banking. People decided to call everybody a racist to get out of their way and that you were all a bunch of lowlife and everything else that could come out of their mouth .And all the staff did nothingThe reggae music was decent and the band tried hard, but unfortunately, the sound was large and the gain was off, giving everybody a headache and making their teeth vibrateI about had enough from the horrible food, the horrible music not due to the band, but to the Soundsystem wasn't set up the overcrowding and the Quebec racist that started a major scene because they wanted to cut in line and treat everybody like trash as if they were the superior race being white end of the one percent eliteThe staff doing completely and utterly nothing But to summarize the hotel was clean, the hotel smelled decently. The hotel was overcrowded. The food was complete garbage. It was overpriced, and the band was annoying. It took two hours to drive up there to find out there was no parking for handicap people so we parked in handicap spot the one and only for hotel guess only and got special consent to stay there which we would've moved immediately. Had they told us to, and then then filed the lawsuit. There was an elevator instead of the stairs, loud for the handicap person I was with to go have lunch In all, it wasn't a horrible experience Some things need to be improved However, there's no way in hell I would ever go back this crap again and because it's a four hour round-trip and it took two hours for lunch waiting in line because there was one staff on the cashier for a concert Let me give you that one cashier one monopoly for a concert. A couple of hundred people showed up to have lunch. Just one venue If you wanna be ridiculous, this is about it and this is the reason I'm not gonna go again because I'm not waiting two hours for freaking sandwiches

Booked the room with fireplace in living room plus a courtyard with fire pit. First we couldn't get the fireplace to work, called front desk who was supposed to send someone - they never showed up. Next day when we went to use the fire pit and sit outdoors we discovered the cushions were wet, the courtyard was messy with leaves and debris. Talked to the "new" general manager who offered no solutions, lots of excuses and basically gave us the "too bad" attitude - did not care. We specifically booked this room for the fireplace and the fire pit. It was expensive. Would never go back and will never recommend.
