Montgomery's Grill & Saloon

Thank you Montgomery's and Haley our server for accommodating us and our service animal. We came here after a nice round of golf and was pleasantly served by the super nice and attentive Haley. Because it was a bit chilly -- we ordered the French onion soups. I had the half sandwich and soup and it was super yummy, hot, and delicious. The burgers looked very appetizing and wish I could I have had both! Lol. Very cool little spot with great food and service. Next time -- the burger is mine!! ;-)

I'm only giving this place a two and not a one star, because our waitress was incredibly sweet. Came today for lunch and ordered a sandwich and a wrap, and it took over an hour to get to us. Bacon on sandwich was burnt and potato salad was rotten smelling. Probably won't be back. Sad because there isn't many options out here.

3.75 StarsIt was Brunch time for us and our friends recommended to eat at this restaurant and saloon in Vail. It was the 1st time for all of us and we had a pleasant time however the wait time from ordering your food to being served your food was much longer than usual.With that said, the restaurant itself was fun place to chill, socialize or hang for an hour or two. There tables inside and the outdoor patio. I prefer to be outside were seated inside with our 8 people.5 Stars: Our server was professional, friendly and accommodating especially having pre-teen boys with us.After ordering our food, she served our drinks and appetizers pretty quickly. However it took time for the rest of the food to come out. No fault to the server and the cooks. They may have been short staff in the kitchen and we did arrive around d "lunch rush hour - high noon". Also, she checked on us frequently and refilled our drinks even though she has several tables to wait on inside and outside.Food: 3 to 4 StarsWe ordered several different items:1. 4 Stars - Fajitas - $16.49 - Sizzling platter of sauteed onion & peppers with your choice of beef or chicken. Salsa & sour cream on request. Guacamole. - chicken fajitas - chicken tendered were seasonaed with black pepper, salt and cumin and lemon. It was good. The tortillas looked homemade and were thin and it handled the veggies and meat properly. Only thing missing was the pico de gallo.2. 3.5 Stars - Kids chicken tender and fries. The chicken tenders were lightly battered and fried. Good for the kids or a light meal3. 4 Stars - Buffalo Chicken Wings - tangy buffalo sauce that has a little bit of spicy sauce. Comes with celery stalks and choice of ranch or blue cheese. About 12 pieces of "Schwarzenegger" size drumsticks. It will fill up! - Dish is an Appetizer 4. 4 Stars - Bacon Bleu Burger - $14.99Our fresh chargrilled Choice Angus Beef burger topped with crispy bacon, bleu cheese and tangy A1 sauce. Will give a higher rating but we believe the Burger was a preformed thick patty. It was pretty uniformed in size. I could be wrong. The toppling were good and had sweet potato fries as the side which were wonderful. Perfectly fried and crispy.5. 3.75 Stars - Monty's Burger - $12.99Our fresh chargrilled Choice Angus Beef burger topped with cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, bacon and onion rings. Served with fries. It was good but nothing to write about.6. 3 stars - Fish Tacos - $10.993 flour tortillas stuffed full with fried fish, shredded cabbage and our own Baja sauce, and 2 wedges of lemon. The fish were fried nicely, not too battered. The Baja sauce was a disappointed to me. Lack of flavor and it was little too much sauce for me. The tacos definitely needed the Lemon for acidic flavor to cut down on the sauce. Doesn't come with any side items. Which surprising when the other items did.7. 4 Stars - Loaded Nachos - choice of shredded chicken or ground d beef, loaded w beans, cheese, jalapeños and other items. This is a HUGE serving of Nachos. Definitely Shareable - 2-4 people. Can get wet if you can't eat it in a timely manner. So would we come again. I would "yes" but don't go there hungry and be served quickly. Get a drink, order an appetizer, and hang w your friends. Be patient and you won't t go wrong. Best to visit when it isn't too busy too.Only two pictures of the 6 items ordered cuz I didn't want to infringe on our friends plating and the kids were scarfing their food down before I can say, "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"! Montgomery's is one of the few east side staples that has decent food, a nice friendly locals atmosphere, outside patio, and a good small bar layout. They don't have a ton of beers or liquor options, but it's great for a quick dinner or to watch a game (if it happens to be on- and no sound). We end up going fairly often as it's convenient, and I love their taco salad. Service is good as well, with a smile - though kitchen can be slow if they're slammed.

As a vegetarian, I cannot deal with some of those "fake" burger patties. I find them "impossible"! They have a burger patty made from black bean, rice , etc. Slightly spicy and very good!

Never go to eat before 5, we walked in, sat down and had to leave because no one even acknowledged our presence! Big disappointment!!!

Montgomerys is the go to restaurant in Vail. We go there around once a month for maybe the last 7-8 years and they have been a staple at Vail station. One time a few years back it was clear the bartender took our order but was slow to send it to the kitchen. She made it right while we were waiting and it was still a good experience. It is nice to have a local restaurant that is consistent in their quality. thanks.

This is my first time reviewing your restaurant normally I am the customer that just doesn't come back as they call the silent customer but in this case, I just felt like I needed to say something the food was good. This was my second time here in two months and both times the food wait Was extremely long meaning first time was well over 45 minutes this last time. I went well over an hour I wouldn't say anything, but I noticed customers coming in after me being served before me so not sure how the kitchen delegates tables just aggravating to say the least. Will not be going back thank you.

When I moved here in February we went to eat at MGS. The food was good however the wait for our meal took a long time. The waitress was very cordial and pleasant. The second time food delivered to our table sooner and was ok as well. That was more than 5 months ago. Today we ordered burgers to go. The food was ready quickly however the quality of the burger was absolutely EXCELLENT. Should anyone ask how can you ruin a burger...it can happen as I've experienced that at OTHER restaurants. The burger at MGS was cooked to perfection, the quality of the meat was perfect and all the produce was fresh and crisp. One order had French fries and the other potato salad. We were not disappointed. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We are new to the area and when we searched local restaurants this place popped up. We decided to try it out and it sis not disappoint!!
