We stayed overnight for one night as a staycation and had an incredible experience! The grounds are beautiful, the food is incredible, the classes and teachers are wonderful! We were there in an unseasonably warm December so it was chilly at night but comfortable during the day. There were so many gluten free options and all the food (even the buffet options!) were clearly label for allergens, including gluten! I had a fantastic vegan burger on a (surprisingly) good gluten free bun! Also, I have to mention the coffee/smoothie bar! Loved it! I had an oatmilk latte (regular or decaf) basically at all times- so good! Also, the horchata smoothie was so good!We both had massages, which were incredibly relaxing. The spa area is so nice- a quiet room to relax, sauna, hot tub, showers, etc. You can hang out in this area, even if you don't have any spa services scheduled! I also had a manicure and pedicure and the ladies were so kind and did a fantastic job! (They use dazzle dry polish!)The rooms are nice as well! Cozy and close to everything. We can't wait to go back again. It's an investment for sure (check out the day pass for a less expensive option!), but we had an incredible, relaxing, refreshing stay.

The food is amazing. Dinner is the only time when you need a reservation and a good part of the menu changes every night, which results in a super fun adventure with little repetition. What makes it even more amazing is that dinner is more of a tapas experience, so you can actually experience several choices at one sitting. The classes are amazing. I loved the creative photography stroll with Nancy. She took a hard subject and brought it quickly into something both fun and useful. The slack line class was an interesting dive into something I never tried before. The five-hour hike with Tika and Matthew Voss was wonderful, and the highlight was the deep conversation we all had together.I stayed in one of the villas and the architecture was stunning as were the views. On the downside...The onboarding experience was like herding cats. The website is awful. The communication was just as bad. Check in was a disaster that never happened to me anywhere else before with my luggage being tagged with someone else's name. Even parking is bizarre. A great welcome when you first get there, but super weird attempting to go off property. HINT #1: Get the keys to your car and do everything yourself. The lot is small enough that "self-parking" is basically valet. HINT #2: GPS can take you on a shortcut to nowhere coming here. Yes, they make mention of it AFTER you fail, but it would be nice to know beforehand.Basically, I found everything before going and getting there to be an awful experience. Whereas, everything onsite is basically wonderful. If you can ignore the frustrations up front, this is still a great place with great services to experience. Also, the all-inclusive nature of it is something that works really well, but is also something I needed to ask for more details on since I am used to tipping and paying for food. (Alcohol is an add-on charge)

We recently went to Miraval with a day pass to enjoy the day there. There were several highlights but the overall experience was dampened by the service. The ambiance is delightful, if a bit dated, and the spa area is the star of the spaces with panoramic views of the mountains from the gorgeous sitting area. The spa was generally the highlight of the day with nice saunas and a lovely massage. The yoga class and fitness classes I took were good, average based on what you'd expect at a regular gym, with kind instructors. The yoga was also an interesting twist, doing it on moving platforms - a new experience I was glad to try.The person working at the smoothie bar was really unwelcoming, a few guests even commented as I went up to get in line that they wouldn't recommend going up there based on how they were treated. The staff in the restaurant was reasonable - one commented on my weight in a way that made me feel pretty sad and took the wind out of my sails for the day. It was a mixed visit and while there were definitely highlights, I'd prob try a different spa next time.

Came during low season, end of July, so it wasn't very crowded, which was nice to help decompress from life. Friendly staff with interesting stories of the rich & famous guests, attentive service, fresh food & snacks. Spa area was nice & quiet to just take in the panoramic view of the Santa Catalina mountains. It is also monsoon season so be prepared for quick downpours.Highly recommend the celestial yoga, we were fortunate enough to catch the blood moon & see Musk's Starlink in the sky. Great place for self care & the only worries are what/when to eat & how to juggle the activities in your schedule.

Bottom line: I was looking for a relaxing getaway, and Miraval delivered everything I wanted: great onsite activities, phenomenal food, and an atmosphere that allowed me simply be in the moment. Grounds--the grounds are beautiful. Everything is clean, the atmosphere is serene, and the mountains backdropping the resort are breathtaking with each meal or stroll to/from your room. I was also pleasantly surprised by how compact the grounds are. Nothing is crowded, but it doesn't take long at all to walk from one side of the resort to another. Walking the grounds was really nice, and it was one of my favorite activities during downtime, whether it was on the hiking trails or through the resort to different points of interest.Room and facilities-- we stayed in the 600s (sunrise room). These were built more recently than most others, and I thought they were nice. At 600sqft, they didn't feel particularly big or small. The bathroom was nice (with both an indoor and outdoor shower!), the bedroom was average. Many reviews comment on the Miraval bedding the best they've ever had--I thought it was comfortable, but not head-and-shoulders above other nice resorts. The beds also dipped down a little in the middle, which I didn't particularly like, but overall they were still very comfortable. The room was stocked with two incredibly comfortable robes, which doubled as overcoats on cool mornings (I didn't realize it would be 40 degrees while walking to breakfast!!)Facilities--The spa is arguably one of my favorite areas at Miraval. Not even for the services inside (which were nice), but for the waiting area, with serene music, and a picturesque vie of the mountains. This was a perfect area to read or even just sit and relax. On the spa grounds, there were also two pools and a hot tub each heated to different temperatures. I spent most of my time at the lap pool, which was also heated and kept just a little cooler than the "relaxation" pools--it was a perfect temperature for lap swimming (not too cold when you jump in, not too warm when you're in the middle of a workout). The lap pool was on the grounds of the Body Mindfulness Center (the gym), which also housed several treadmills, free weights, and machines for your workout.Service--the service and atmosphere at Miraval is what really pushes this resort into five stars. I particularly want to highlight how wonderful Cassie (the online experience planner via chat on the website) was. I had a special request and she went above and beyond to make it happen, and each time I contacted her for something, she was kind and helpful, just as the rest of the staff onsite would be. I also want to highlight Chris at the front desk for this--whenever I needed anything, he did his best to help or at minimum get me in the right direction. Miraval is a resort that highlights the value in being present in the moment. Any number of frustrations would be directly opposed to this, but nearly every employee at Miraval seems to make it their personal charge to remove any frustration from your experience so that you can be at peace.(Admittedly, nothing is perfect. On the day a huge group checked in, housekeeping did not come to our room, even we called to inform the front desk. And a dead bird stayed on our porch for a couple days before we had to ask for it to be removed. But overall, things like the above were very rare.) Activities--Miraval has a wonderfully wide range of activities. I particularly enjoyed learning about bees from Noel in All the Buzz, lively conversation and great food from Daphne in Just Cook for Me, and learning Mountain Biking Basics with Voss and Damian. There are a lot of spiritual and introspective classes--which for many is the main draw of Miraval--but even though I had little interest in this type of class, I found plenty of enjoyable activities.Food--as a big foodie (this is Yelp, after all), this was another huge highlight. Menus rotate daily through a five-menu cycle, with a fairly standard breakfast, lunch special+some buffet variation, and full dinner menu which varies quite a bit. This is not your typical all-inclusive food, dishes were thoughtfully crafted and almost universally delicious. I enjoyed the small portions, mainly because I could try two different entrees every night (and sometimes two desserts if I had room!). Without going into particular dishes, I'll sum it up by saying there is enough variety that almost anyone can find one or more they really enjoy. While it ended up being so much more, I originally found Miraval when I was searching for all inclusive resorts with great food--and even by that alone, it didn't disappoint.Overall--Miraval is a wellness retreat/resort that can accommodate a wide variety of preferences. It is not the ideal vacation for someone looking for partying/nightlife or going off property to explore the city, but if looking for a peaceful retreat with onsite activities, it's a perfect destination.

We decided to visit Miraval based on the recommendation of our friend, and I am so glad we listened. I really enjoyed my stay here at Miraval. We were told Miraval had promotions throughout the year, and it is best to wait for them as this resort is on the pricy side. We found a promo that needed us to make a spur of the moment decision to visit, but luckily it worked for our schedule. The resort will pick you up from the airport; it is almost an hour drive to get to the resort. Once you arrive, everything becomes so easy. The check-in was fast and efficient, our luggage was taken to our room, we were given a tour of the resort, we were able to get smoothies and snacks (it was after lunch, but they always have a cafe open), and we were encouraged to find our way to whatever activity was best for us at that moment. I enjoyed all the activities I signed up for. I think my favorite was the equine experience. I also learned so much from the skincare class taught by their lead esthetician, Kim. The hiking in the area was beautiful, the group at that time was a bit on the fast side, but they always had one person leading and one person pacing the slower hikers. They have so many classes in 3 main categories: yoga, meditation and exercise fitness. The biggest issue was that there were multiple classes I was interested in attending all at the same time! I guess that is a good problem to have. The spa also took up a bit of my time as they offer multiple services and the use of their steam room, sauna, and hottub at any time - even if you don't have a spa service. This resort discourages the use of cellphones and computers. They do offer one area for cellphone use inside the main building. It is in the bar area - and is gets the worst cell phone reception. I wonder if that is by design???Speaking of the bar, they do have alcoholic beverages for purchase, and all other food and drinks are part of your resort fee. The food is delicious and I certainly want some of their recipes. You will need to make a reservation for dinner, but breakfast and lunch are open and available anytime during their set hours for those meals. The room we stayed in was in the 600 block. These were amazing rooms. The back door looked out to the mountains, the room was spacious and the bath included an inside and outside shower. It was just lovely. We are already making plans to go to the next Miraval in Austin, TX now that we know how well they put together all aspects of a resort: the room, food, experiences and customer service.

My husband and I had a great 3 night stay. This place is different than any resort we have stayed at. I didn't do much homework before coming here and the experience was amazing. It's like a summer camp for adults, or rehab center, or wellness retreat. It's a cell phone free property, you can use it in your room and in designated areas. I'm addicted to my phone to be honest, so being here really did make me more present and mindful to the experience and my partner. So you will get a few emails few weeks before your stay asking you to sign up for classes. Soooo many options (again it's like a summer camp). We did cardio drumming, Zumba Pilates, cardio line dance, foam roller, crystal walk, photography, nutrition, etc. There are many outdoor classes as well like zip lining, hiking, archery, bee keeping, etc but we didn't sign up for those. If you're into crystals, essential oils, meditation, this place is your jam.You get $175 nightly credit that you can use for fee'd classes or spa/massage. I didn't realize that until I checked out. I thought it was $175 for the whole stay... Used it on focus massage which was relaxing. After massage we used steam room to wind down. Was gonna tip my masseuse but she said no tip needed. All inclusive food but not alcohol. Different menus daily and healthier options overall. There's a wine bar there as well but alcohol not included. Smoothie bar from 6am to 5pm and we had two a day :) Def ate a good amount of fruits and veggies while here and felt healthy. Room is a bit dated to be honest. And cleanliness wasn't the top notch either. The AC controller on the wall and toilet seat are very dated and yellowed. I would expect they would've upgraded these for $2000+ a night. All instructors and staff are very friendly and helpful. They provide complementary shuttle transportation between airport and the property. Crowds here are mostly women and very few couples and some solo travelers. Def an all girls trip type of vibe. My husband is a trooper and participated many classes where he was the only guy there and enjoyed them. We did a lot of classes that we wouldn't have otherwise tried in our daily lives. It was a great adventure and insightful experience with my husband. If you are looking for a sit by pool, drink, relax, and do nothing type of hotel, this is not for you. We used Hyatt points for the stay and it was a great value! For paying cash, it may just be an ok value. Def recommend visiting here and set the expectations right. It is not any typical hotel/resort.

Food - 4Service -5Value - 5This place is a great value if you can stay using Hyatt points, and just an "ok" value if you are paying cash. This is our 2nd time at a Miraval property and I think 3 nights minimum is good (we enjoyed this location more than the other location) -- we probably could have a 4th night as well. We came during in late July which is low season there.Out of the food, my favorite drink was the Ginger Drink (both cold and hot are great depending on your mood). My favorite entree was the lamb chops. There were plenty of activities to keep us busy and yet enough time for us to have time to practice mindfulness as well. My favorite activity was the Celestial Yoga, which was under the stars -- we had a nice clear night and even got to see several Starlink trains. I also thoroughly enjoyed my first facial ever, the Cara Vida facial. Also recommend spending some time talking with the staff and getting their stories about working there!

The was the absolute best experience that's I've had in a long time. Miraval is an absolutely stunning place to be. The experience from start to finish was amazing. I booked last year during the Black Friday sale to go in August. Note they have a nice special for additional resort credits during that time that can be used for the spa or activities. Making my experience was amazing. Before going, I called and talked with a representative that took the time to help me create an amazing experience as a solo traveler. I wanted a bit of variety, so I did a few activities such as celestial yoga, a night time hike, afternoon stretch, morning meditation, and plenty of spa services. I love the fact that there is such a variety of things that can be done. It really felt like an adult Disney World. When I arrived to the Tuscon Airport, it was so simple to meet the driver and get my bags secured to go to Miraval. The property was probably about 40 minutes from the airport. During the ride we were given these cute goodie bags with nice treats for our stay. The most memorable thing they provided was the blank letter for you to write to yourself. In 3 months, they'll send it to you. It really was a nice touch.I could go on and on, but I have to say I loved this experience. I plan to go many many more times. It exceeded my expectations.
