Hello All,Just wanted to write up a quick review about my experience with Mariachi Luz De Luna and the owner Ruben. I heard nothing but good things about his Mariachi fgroup and he came highly regarded. Tucson is a small town where everyone knows everyone in the community. He has been around and has even done a couple business events for my real estate firm. At any rate, I was due to get married November 5 of this year so we made it a point to meet with him ASAP in order to preserve and schedule my wedding date. We did in fact meet in early February to give him our deposit and sign a contract. In all fairness he was able to give us a discount because of our mutual relationships within the community. Everything looked promising that is until the eleventh hour. On November 4, the eve of my wedding, I called him to see where I could meet him in order to give him the balance of what I owed him in which he notified me that he was not going to be able to perform for my wedding. I was speechless and I was even more mortified at the reason. It appears that he had a conflict for that day because of the festival that was going to be in Bisbee that day however, he would be sending some people I had never heard of or met to perform for my wedding. WHAT?? He then explained to me that he would be getting $1500 dollars at the festival which is when it all began to make sense. He said he had not looked at his schedule to see the conflict. First off, if you're a business owner, who doesn't look at the schedule between February and November?? Really?? Second, I didn't buy it. I'm not dumb. Truth be told, he forgot about the Festival, was offered a significant amount of money and blew me off. When we were on the phone he was very arrogant saying he didn't know why I was so upset because "we didn't even have a contract in place". I couldn't believe it! Of course we did and I reminded him of it!! I would not book something of such significance on a cross my heart hope to die, OF COURSE I needed something in writing confirming my date. He then asked what the problem was, he was sending over people to fill in. The problem is that people pay to hear HIM and his group play. NOT strangers. He then again very arrogantly offered to give me my deposit back which I would have had zero problems with if it didn't happen to be the DAY before my wedding. So we went with the group he sent over. MARIACHI HERRADURA. They were amazing and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone, and now, thanks to Ruben, they will be our go to for every future event and anyone who asks. Anyone who asks will also get the Ruben story, free of charge. Out with the old, in with the new. Bottom line is I will NEVER recommend Ruban to play at any venue again, ever, and have already reached out to several of our mutual friends telling them of my nightmare and his behavior. If you feel that you need to book him BEWARE. If something else comes along where he will make more money , regardless if you have a contract with him in place, he will no doubt leave you high and dry, making up some excuse and at the end of the day to me, its all about integrity and your word. Its not about money. I can't do much, that ships already sailed, but I can warm others. DON'T DO IT!Tucson is a small town.

Great mariachi group. Know. Ruben Moreno for years and he's always willing to work with you on a performance. The group is entertaining and always fun to have them perform. ThanKs Mariachi Luz de Luna!!

We hired the mariachi for my nanas 80th surprise birthday party. The mariachi were on time and made my nanas party perfect thank you ruben and mariachis!

Absolutely horrible experience with Rueben. I called him for a time and HE told ME to call him if I needed other Marichi bands as recommendation if his time wouldn't work for me. When I called him back to take him up on his offer he told me "I was wasting his time"....and hung up on me. I will never recommend this band or this owner.

So nice to see Ruben giving it his best after all these years! We recently had the pleasure of hearing him and his Mariachi play. In my opinion he's an icon in the Mariachi scene in Southwestern Arizona. As for the rest of the mariachi musicians they were young but highly skilled, well dressed, well mannered, and professional.

I did not even want to give 1 star. Ruben is very unorganized and sometimes rude. We paid for a 6 piece and received a 5 piece. He said he would refund the money (3 weeks ago). Still waiting. I would not recommend.
