Lucky's Chicago sandwiches It's tucked away in a strip mall and you really have to look for it, I usually go there when i'm going to whole foods and to Target.Everyone is understaffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. Remember they're busy because they're good. This restaurant still has that old time feel it's a definite classic Italian neighborhood type vibe.Staff have always tried to make sure I am happy. It can be a busy place so depending on the time of day lunch or dinner you may have to wait but they move people through quickly. I enjoyed the italian beef, The italian sausage, Sliders, sandwiches, The auju sauce is great too! They also have a great selection of old time pops as well as regular fountain drinks. It's something different in Tucson. Lots of good tasting food. They also are serving a reasonably priced breakfast now.

Update. I finally got through by phone, spoke to Zander (maybe). He was very nice and apologetic. He told me owner would call me to maybe offer a refund. Still waiting. Owner responded, said he replied to me personally. I've not seen anything. Replied to me where? Yes, please. Refund just the sandwiches. The fries and shrooms were good. Actually, shrooms were great. We placed an online order, two sandwiches, fries and shrooms. I noticed right away, no fries. I got the fries. Got to the car, missing ranch and side of hot peppers. Went back. They fixed the order. Got home (30 minutes away), both sandwiches were completely wrong! My wife ate some but threw most away. I ate mine 3/4 of mine but it was terrible. I've tried calling, but nobody aanswers and machine says don't leave a message because it will not be returned. The shrooms were great.

We stopped here randomly looking for a deli on the way to Costco. The place is tucked away on the side of Thornydale Road near the Costco and it will definitely be a place for us to go when we head there in the future. The place was clean, organized, and a bit busy.It is set up so you can order ahead and eat there or pick up, or order once you are there. The order ahead is very convenient and it appeared many of the patrons had done just that making it very easy to stop in and eat. The menu is Chicago style Italian sandwiches and hotdogs. They have an assortment of meats including brisket, pastrami, meatballs, chicken, and more. We tried the pastrami and the gyro. Both were served on sub/hoagie rolls with huge amounts of meat and cheese. Both were very flavorful and the amount of meat is well worth it. I will ask for more spicy mustard next time, but I like lots of mustard on my pastrami. Fries are extra and not at all needed, but they are large cut fries and that had a nice crunch to them and not too salty. For as busy as it was, the food came up quickly. The staff were very friendly and efficient. They have breakfast items and many other sandwiches so we plan to stop in again and try some different types of food. We will update the review with more impressions. If you are looking for a Chicago style Italian sandwich place, this is a great option.

The food was good. It was a good portion. Flavor was good. It is a small place, but very cozy and nice. The cashier was not friendly at first. She was trainer another young lady. Food came out in a timely manner. The new cashier that was getting trained was very polite.

I have been to Lucky's several times now and it's always delicious. They have great quality meats and bread. My favorite is the Italian Beef (wet) with a mix of sweet and spicy peppers. Their pastrami sandwich is great too. It's always fresh and hot! The owner, Mark, is usually around and is very friendly.

My 1st time there! The owner is super nice, very helpful with everything. I lived in Chi town and ate at Portillos & other sandwich shops there all the time. I had the big (2/3lb!) Italian beef, dipped w hot peppers. Great bun, generous meat, lots of not too hot peppers & really tasty fried zuke. Place was spotless, owner took great care of us. Hubs had the cheesesteak, pretty good, but not a lot to it? Maybe it need the in house hot sauce. Will be back again!

Food wasn't bad at all, just a little pricey. The bun for the polish sausage was the absolute best! Fries made fresh. Service was great everyone friendly. Place was clean and good for groups. Just found out they are open for breakfast so I'll give them another shot.

I finally made it over to the northside yesterday and got to try out Lucky's Chicago Sandwiches. Man that place was GOOD!!!! I ordered the 9" Italian Beef with cheese and sweet peppers. 1st....Woah....it was so much food!!!! The beef was so tender and flavorful.2nd....make sure to ask for a side of their hot sauce. It's made in house and enhanced the flavor so much!!I can't wait to make it back over there and try out some more of their amazing sounding menu. I had to just go with a classic to start, but can't wait to try some of their personal creations.
