What a stunning and beautiful property in this desert oasis! We checked in late on New Year's Eve and they had a beautiful room for us! The on site restaurant was even serving dinner until 8pm! Our bedroom was nice and cozy with a beautiful view of foliage, just enough for privacy from walkway traffic! The shower amenities were incredible, so much that I'd be interested in purchasing them. The robes were extra soft and I even slept in mine! The staff was all very friendly and they are dog friendly and have a huge dog run area! We would definitely stay here again if we pass through this area. The only reason I deducted a star was because there were no USB charging outlets and we couldn't charge our phones or watches. Next time, we'll bring other cables.

This historic hotel was unique with modern amenities. We were assigned one of the original (aka older) casitas at the front of the property. The room was cozy with a neat functioning fireplace, which we did not use throughout our triple digit stay. Good AC and a ceiling fan were saviors though! There were ants in our bathroom and what was up with the sink that was at upper chest level? Our VIP Orbitz perk was a coupon for free chips and salsa and one drink up to $15, which depending on how you look at it could be marketing genius or a money grab, or both. If there's two of us, then we're probably going to order at least one more drink, and the fine print also made sure to say that gratuity was not included. The drinks were meh and I would be disappointed if I paid the $9 menu price for chips and salsa. Complimentary coffee in their cute reading room in the morning. Really nice pool and spa area. They also have a gym which I didn't check out at all. The microwave upon request and availability at no extra charge was welcome!Front desk service is snail paced slow. There's only one person handling the guests in front of her as well as answering phones. They sure take their time with each guest, which is nice if you're the guest they're assisting, not so much if you're the one(s) waiting.

Stayed 4 nights this trip...It's certainly helpful that I have a friend that lives in Tucson. Great locale again. This is located in the midtown area of town and pretty close to the U of A campus. My room had a king sized bed of course. Decent amount of storage, but no in room safe or microwave. A small little patio out back with 2 chairs so I could have my morning coffee. Downstairs has a restaurant called Cielos . That's open for breakfast/lunch & dinner. But they do close briefly between meals. Really dined in once for breakfast that has your standard hot/cold items. One can sit outside on their patio and have drinks by fireplace. When I made my reservation a few months back, actually added a fireplace for my room. Nice size pool and hot tub off of the front lobby area. Only downside of this hotel, at night the walkways should have better lighting. Yes I would stay at this one again.

I came back for a second visit and upgraded from a casita to a deluxe room. Big mistake. The casitas are lovely and although they are a bit dated, they are cute and comfortable. The deluxe room that I was given overlooked the parking lot and smelled like smoke. It also lacked the charm of the casita. Still, though, I do love this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lodge on the Desert. Extremely friendly staff at the front desk, including Katelyn who enthusiastically shared the history of the hotel including showing us a binder of historical brochures and pictures. She told us that John Wayne used to stay there! The room was clean and large. No view, but it did have sliders so we could sit outdoors. One of the lights in the bathroom was out and when we told the front desk the facilities person came to fix it within minutes! There was some confusion about breakfast - apparently they used to have breakfast included for all who stay there, but now it is only for people who reserved before January 1st. So just be aware of that.We had dinner down the street at Locale Italian which was great, and they serve breakfast as well so if you dont have breakfast included at the Lodge you can go there. I would definitely stay there again, and next time stay longer so I could enjoy the beautiful pool area!

I had the pleasure of a lovely 4 night stay here last week. This is such a sweet low key Tucson gem boutique hotel. I highly recommend upgrading to the deluxe spa room to elevate your stay. The onsite restaurant Cielo's is equally divine. My room #120 was comfortable and I can't remember the last time I slept so soundly.

I'm a big fan of this classic Tucson hotel. The hotel offers "deluxe" more modern rooms, but I love the casitas. The casitas are large rooms that feel more like apartments, with Saltillo tile, wood beam ceilings, a fireplace and many other cute Southwestern touches. My last room had a hammered copper sink that was gorgeous. The grounds of the hotel are nicely maintained with benches, cacti and small metal sculptures - nice ambience. Large walls surround the hotel, but right outside is a very busy street which can be noisy so ask for a room away from it. Lodge on the Desert offers a free breakfast with your stay so take advantage. It's fairly decent. They also seem to have a fair amount of specials going on throughout the year. I've stayed twice now when the room comes with free chips and salsa, margaritas, and paletas. (Mexican fruit popsicles) I believe they offer AAA rates as well, but you might have to call for those. I find myself choosing this hotel over the others when I return to Tucson.

Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of amazing! Despite arriving late, security was incredibly kind and escorted us to our spacious and spotlessly clean room. The front desk staff were equally friendly and accommodating. The hotel's restaurant surpassed our expectations with delicious food. We're definitely planning to return for another stay in the future!

Visited Lodge on the Desert last year for Family Vacation. Loved everything about this place. We had a Casita, that accommodated 5 comfortably. The location makes you feel like you are somewhere.elaw. The nightly Happy hour was great, the breakfast was great with the exception of the jalapeno soaked bacon. I thought it was regular bacon, until I bit into it. Please, put out the regular stuff, so people have a choice. Hell Naw Beautiful, peaceful large rooms. I've been 2xs now. It's like its own little secluded oasis.

We had a large room, no real sitting area... just a large bedroom. The empty space just inside the entry door makes me believe that at one time, there was furniture for seating in a square, but is just an empty void.Good WiFi, but absolutely no USB ports anywhere in the room.Fireplace in the corner, hot enough to drive us out from under the covers on the chilly night we stayed there.Amazing jacuzzi tub, large bathroom with separate shower and enclosed lavatory. Huge counter with double sinks.Room had an odd odor to it, almost like some sort of cooking smells, like a stale garlic-onion odor and some spice I couldn't name. Our room was right on the boundary of the restaurant, but we weren't able to get rid of it.Very nice layout of the facilities. Only drawback was that overnight guest parking was on the left of registrations and parking (where our room was located) was intended for restaurant patrons. We parked there overnight, as there are no baggage carts and carrying suitcases just wasn't possible. Found that someone backed into my left rear bumper, damaging the paint.Good coffee available in the morning.
