Update: Still an easy 5 stars. First night back in a theater venue in months and we got to spend it in LTW's gorgeous new main stage theater in their new building on FtLowell. It's freaking amazing! This is professional theater with an approachable community feel. Did I mention the new theater? It has awfully adjustable stage capable of in the round or whatever else these theatrical geniuses dream up! They also have a separate youth theater! Can't say enough about this place! Check it out!

This is a small, intimate theater located within a little strip mall on Speedway. It isn't quite a theater in the round, with room for 94 patrons, but it isn't too bad considering how small it is. Acoustics are pretty good. I am Deaf and found that I was able to hear everyone very clearly during the show. I did not need a captioning or amplification device, which was also a real plus. The seats are OK. Not the most comfortable, but not too bad either. The decor was typical of small theaters of this type, though it does need some touch ups here and there.

One of the really good theatre experiences in Tucson. I only wish it were more comfortable and handicapped accessible. At least they try hard to accommodate. The season ticket deal is a great buy.

Well, this was a very pleasant surprise! My guy found an ad for a 2 act play in a small theatre downtown, Tucson. So on a Friday night and we decided to go. The theatre is small and intimate, nicely set up with seating on several levels so that everyone had a good view of the two actors who performed. We saw, Thinks Being What They Are, andI have to say, we were really impressed by the two actors as they reeled us into this bitter-sweet story of life, love and loss.Highly recommended.

Local live theater with volunteer actors. Today we saw God's Man in Texas. It was supposed to be laugh out loud funny. It wasn't. Certainly had a few funny lines and I think the actors gave a great performance for the script they had. I think the problem was there was a little too much "preaching" on the pulpit and not enough comedy in the "behind the scene" goings on of a church....any demonition. If I still lived in town I'd definitely give it another try to see what is done with different material

Went to see RAPunzel. The story of Rapunzel with a hip hop twist to it. The price was right and I took my children. It was a quaint little theatre set up next to an aquarium shop. One inside you forget you are in a shopping center. The children loved the Show as it was geared toward the younger crowd. It was entertaining to me as well and the time flew by. I will definitely repeat to this venue with the kids!

My mother invited my daughter and I to a "children's" play here a couple of weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised by the performance! We are frequent customers at Fishy Business next door and I never had really given much thought to what was next door. It's almost Tucson's best kept secret! Inside the shops exterior is a wonderful little theatre with amazing air conditioning. I had assumed this was just a place to take acting classes but the theatre which was very quaint somehow still felt majestic! The actors were also very impressive. The singing, dancing, and acting were all very enjoyable and entertaining for both the children and adults. The play was called "Tabitha Turnpike has a Monstrous Problem" and it dealt with kids imaginations, feelings, and family dynamics in a lighthearted animated way. Loved it and really appreciate what the live Theatre Workshop is doing!

This is a small, intimate theater, with 94 seats, on three sides (occasionally in the round). Visibility is good at all seating locations. I've been a season subscriber for seven years and will continue. It's storefront is located in a strip mall on Speedway. While they do all types of plays, the acting troop most typically puts on comedies and mysteries. There shows are typically on the weekend. Although during the week they do children's shows as well as acting classes for children and adults. On the weekends they do new as well as classical plays at 7:30.There is also a separate group that performs late night plays of a more adult nature, cutting edge stuff. One of the best kept secrets in Tucson.

Had an opportunity (thanks, Yelp!) to see the latest production of the late night Etcetera company last night and it was another home run. (Hint: The opening night performance is at 7:30 -- a blessing for anyone who's typically asleep by the usually scheduled 10:30 shows. Like me.) The subject matter: unflinchingly edgy. Called "Jailbait," it's the story of a pair of precocious and confused 15-year-olds (are there any other kind?) who sneak into a club planning to hook up with a pair of 30-something guys. The dialogue is whip-smart. The acting? Simply phenomenal. Unbelievable to me that is is an all-volunteer theater company. Tucson, we are so lucky to have Live Theatre Workshop! And unless you are hyper-sensitive to real life, you MUST get tickets (as low as $18!) to an upcoming show!

I have never seen a performance at Live Workshop when the acting was anything less than unparalleled. Every character; every play! The depth of talent in Tucson is amazing.
