Yes, when I was there in 1978, we sent to the 102nd birthday party of Cochises great grand son. The ranch donated the steer and the Apaches cooked in the ground their own way. Got to meet the Chief. It was a great event held on the grounds of an elderly gentleman who was still crafting full size stagecoachs in his business.

Unfortunately the Lazy K bar ranch is closed and is now a housing community named after the Lazy K.

I spent a week at the Lazy K Bar Ranch back in the summer of '80. I loved the morning and evening horse rides that they had. Plus went to the 101 birthday party of Sid Wilson, who had been a rough rider in the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show back in his younger days. It is sad to see that this place is no more.

Too bad the Ranch quit operating in 2007. I was there in 1978 and had a stupendous time. They were known for their prime rib and home-made corn cakes. Went to Cochises great grandsons 102 birthday party. Great time. Lazy K Bar donated the steer. They knew everyone in the areaAnd it made for very special visit.

If you were considering this place for whatever reason- stay away!I was looking at wedding venues in Marana this afternoon when my mother in law suggested we stop by this place. We didn't have a reservation for any of the places we visited, three of them were very accommodating anyway as they are open for business and it's a Saturday afternoon so we managed to make appointments for next week. The gate at the Lazy K was closed but not locked. There is not intercom at the gate to ring them, and as it is a ranch nobody would see or hear us from reception. There was also no sign whatsoever that says no entry/ no trespassing/ private property etc. The area is clearly marked that it is the Lazy K ranch, and as you drive up the driveway it points the pathway to take for the reception area. When we got there the owner rudley asked us "who the hell we are" before getting angry that we entred a closed gate. We quickly apologized (both of us) but he wouldn't have it. He kept yelling at us to leave- we were already backing away into the car at this point. At no point did we disobey his instruction when he asked us to leave. We realized he didn't want us there and were already leaving. He harrassed us as we got into our car and carried on harrassing as we were backing up from the parking lot and continued to do so until we sped up and the hell out of there. I was honestly scared what he would do next. I don't even think he knows what we were there for but it was clear we were not welcome. Honestly our only fault was driving through a closed gate to enquire about something, I don't think we deserved that treatment. Maybe a sign on the gate, or a quick "hi, we are not open come back at..." would have been better.
