Menudo available on Saturday and Sundays Flavor on point I'm highly impressed with the meat tripe is clean pieces of tripe. The flavor is on point! Highly enjoyed and now I know where to go get menudo when I craving it. This place has homemade good food you can see the owner and kitchen cooking it up. Packed on a Sunday will be back!

Just have a chance to come back after years..Nice & clean place with good food. They had some seats available when we arrived but need to wait to be clean.The food came a bit long, so I won't recommend it if you are in a rush. They have small parking space.

*Review for Laverna's Coffee Shop Rating: 5 out of 5 Address: 220 S Plumer Ave Hours: Mon-Sat: 6-2pm & Sunday 7-2pm Contact: 520-623-1389 Been in business 30+ years & Family owned. *Atmosphere: Very Homey, Relaxed, and Family friendly, wasn't busy which was lovely for it being 12:30pm. Very laid back type of vibe. *Staff: Very friendly and greeted us immediately and said we can sit anywhere we'd like. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating especially for my pregnant cravings which we'll get to down below lol! Waitress checked on us multiple times and we never once felt rushed at all. Food: There was 3 of us adults and 1 child eating. 1. Biscuits and gravy: soft and tasty, definitely thick!2. Choc Chip Pancakes: HUGE and yummy! 3. Denver Omelette: really good and standard size (4 eggs).4. Chorizo & Cheese Burrito: As for my pregnancy cravings I ordered the Egg & chorizo burrito with pancakes inside of it which was perfect sweet and savory dish. I will say the burrito was definitely BIG, I only ate half of it but it was very tasty! 5. Cinnamon Roll: Love the amount of frosting on top, very delicious! 6. Sourdough toast with eggs and hashbrowns: Very good! *To go order:Chili: Very tasty! More biscuits and gravy Cinnamon roll *To note: To me the portions are BIG! We left with leftovers *Total for 3 adults and 1 child was $99 before tips. Well worth it!

I wanted to give an updated review about this charming breakfast place. The portions are amazing! I had to take half the mango pancake home just so much food. The amount of bacon and eggs is incredible! The restaurant is super clean and well organized. The staff here was excellent and I always had a full cup of coffee. Definitely recommend coming here for some breakfast food!

Wow what a hidden gem! I wish I would have known about this little place sooner. My whole experience was great the service was great and everyone was friendly. It was very clean and welcoming but the star of the show was the food! I had the chicken fried steak eggs with hash browns everything was cooked the way I asked for it. I was talked into trying the pecan apple pancakes omg sooooo good. I couldn't even come close to eating it all so I took the pancake home and had it for dessert! Warmed it up and threw some ice cream on it like a true fat kid and best leftover's I have ever had. Definitely going back.

On the recommendation of a friend, we came here for breakfast to this unassuming little cafe serving up diner style food. It did not disappoint. Incredibly friendly and welcoming we sat down and were immediately taken care of. I have to say right off the bat the service was fantastic. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros, after consulting with the table next to us who had ordered it and were apparent regulars. We also ordered the Blueberry pancake (HUGE!) and a half order of the biscuits and gravy which my friend had raved about. The food came out made to order, hot and delicious. My husband who is super picky about Huevos Rancheros loved them. My Blueberry pancake was so big I could only eat half of it, so the other half came home with me. The biscuits and gravy were absolutely wonderful. How I have never been here, or even heard about Laverna's is beyond me.

Our hiking group met here for breakfast this past weekend. Our waitress had worked there for like 20 years, pretty impressive! She was great! Very accommodating to our group. She also made sure that we knew the tip was already included on the bill. Food was just ok, I ordered a flavored iced coffee that came in a red pepsi glass and had a strange flavor. My Swiss mushroom omelet was ok, the cheese wasn't real. The hashbrowns were nice and crispy. The pancakes that came out were enormous!! My friend said that her biscuits and gravy were just ok. It was a diner atmosphere and was busy on a Saturday morning.

We got the menudo, which was good, & the 2 eggs with sausage links meal. That meal came with an option in which I chose home fries. The home fries looked and tasted very old, dry & flavorless. Maybe it was a bad day for them or maybe we went too late, either way I personally wouldn't serve those potatoes to a customer.
