My husband and I moved in a year ago, and the decision was based largely on the quality of the management. We had more luxurious options in mind, but Quint and Jimalee were so nice and accommodating that we settled here. We moved into the Holly Ave apartment cluster, so the experience in the other two sets may be different for other people. The first few months here were pleasant. Almost all of our neighbors were quiet and kept to themselves, and we particularly liked the fact that we were placed in an apartment next to a blind woman, who never bothered us. Our only qualms at the time were some unsavory neighbors across the way and to the right, but after someone unsuccessfully tried to steal my bike from the bike rack (a tale for another day), these neighbors disappeared and life here was amazing. And then the management moved away and things went rapidly downhill.I'll start by listing our complaints:-the man hired to clean apartments after move outs spent hours every day doing nothing but sit on his phone. We personally observed him on his phone at several different times between 7am and 4pm, and working maybe once for every 4 phone-related sightings. His lengthy hours meant his double-wide truck took up two of the very limited parking spaces. He most consistently did his work at 7 in the morning, which was frustrating for me as I'm an insomniac and a light sleeper, so I never could get rest when he was around.-Our latest addition of neighbors, placed here under the new management, are okay, with the exception of 2 units. More on the second one later. The first is the woman whose kids are crying for 1/3 to 1/2 of every day and night. Not because they're bad kids, but because she yells at them for every tiny thing and doesn't stop yelling until they cry. Another neighbor never goes to work (something I can verify due to the fact that I now work from home) and spends his days with non-stop smoking, watching movies with the volume far too loud and the windows and door open so everyone can hear it. We can hear it at the furthest extreme of our unit with two separate sources of music playing in an attempt to drown it out. You have to sign multiple documents that state you will not be noisy, and breaking the noise rule enough times results in eviction. This has been an issue for a long time, and, wouldn't you know it? No eviction.-the neighborhood in general has just gone downhill. We knew it wasn't the most optimal of living conditions when we moved in here, as a recent census reported that 25% of the residents in this census district are below the poverty line, but we hadn't expected to have the entire street shut down by police, police cars regularly called in for domestic disturbances, GUN FIGHTS a few blocks away and subsequent helicopter searches, attempted bicycle theft, and vandalism.-Which leads me to the next point. The new management takes forever when it comes to anything related to maintenance. I've attached two pictures of what the grass looks like. It was lush and green when we moved in, and now it's yellowed and dying because the landscaper hadn't been called in for 3 months. There's a weed outside our window that's threatening to come into the apartment because it's been allowed to grow for so long. Then there's the laundry room, which was left open one night by a tenant more than a month ago. Someone took advantage of that and tried to destroy the washers. We first heard about the problem the day after it happened when we went to do laundry. 1 washer worked fine, 1 was full of dirty water that wouldn't drain, and the last wouldn't accept payment. Now more than a month has passed and 1 washer works fine, 1 is full of the same dirty water, and the last still has issues with taking proper payment. And there's now a sprinkler near this washer room that sprays its water onto the second story walkway instead of the grass it's supposed to water. You guessed it. Management has't done anything about it.**update, at the time I'm writing this I've been informed that the washers have just recently been fixed. Still, you advertise that you have a laundry facility on site, but leave the machines broken for weeks. We really wanted to be happy with this place, as our apartment is a quaint little space perfect for the newlywed couple we were. But floor plan and storage space can't make up for annoying neighbors and a scary neighborhood (though I have been in scarier neighborhoods around this city, so this isn't exactly a deadly place to live. Just somewhere to be cautious when walking around).

The lady's in the office are great. Super helpful and attentive. The maintenance folk keep the grounds very clean and free from debris.

This place was an ok apartment before, but it really tanked under the new management. Before I was generally pleased with our neighbors and thought the management was excellent. Plus, this apartment complex was cheaper than anything else I could find. The location is very good, with pharmacies, gas stations, a movie theater, a Home Depot, a Wal-Mart and a Target all within a 10 minute drive. There was some sketchy stuff that happened before. My wife's bike almost got stolen while locked to the bike rack in the apartment complex, but the thieves couldn't cut all the way through the lock. One of my neighbor's cars also got stolen form the parking lot.But things got terrible under the new management. A family of four moved into the one bedroom apartment next to us, creating ruckus at all hours of the day. The washing machines broke and it took a solid month to fix it. Management would post a notice on my door saying that just hours later they would need to enter my apartment. The landscapers were almost nonexistent as bushes grew out of control, a broken sprinkler sprayed water vertically for weeks, and weeds started littering the flowerbeds. Noise control was a joke; people would yell or blare movies and music till 1:00 in the morning (or later).Management was also highly unresponsive to phone calls or written letters. One example: When I moved out, the manager complained that I "never gave her a forwarding address." I actually put a letter in her mailbox twice with my forwarding address. Apparently those letters were either lost or unread.
