Larry's Engine & Marine

We all know that Larry Knows his stuff. I also want to say that the guy is honest and he works hard. It is refreshing for me to have been able to experience this when he built the blower motor for my jet Boat. Jimmy in the boat shop is also a good guy that knows his stuff and only does really solid work. I am proud that these guys represent my home town in this manner. Larry also is very patient with every guy that walks in the door and wants to talk hot rod even when he is there trying to get something done.

Larry's has handled the building of the 408 Stroker for my Corvette and it has been an adventure. Larry's has taken the time to answer my questions, give me his thoughts and make sure everything comes out right. Any issues that come up he takes care of and I am very thankful for the service and attention to detail he has given myself and my build. There will never be a doubt in my mind that Larry's is the engine shop in Tucson to go to! You will not find a better gentleman to deal with. Thank you again Larry!

Larry did the machine work for my Duramax build. Top notch work! Highly recommend them! They bored, decked, and cleaned the block, assembled and balanced rotating assembly, rebuilt the heads. Keyed the crank and cam. I had OCD while assembling this motor, Larry satisfied all my worries.

Best machine shop in North America, IMHO. I have lived in New York, Vancouver (Canada), and Tucson among other places and have had extensive machine work performed at various times. I have yet to come across such consistent quality machine work from any other place. A true and time tested Tucson shop, Larry and his crew are friendly, honest, and professional people with a lot of experience and success in building engines, among other things. Always willing to spend a minute discussing things and a shop so clean you could eat off the floor.

Larry's has been the greatest to work with. I needed my boat engine rebuilt (454 Chevy). They are building me a quality forged internal 496. I had my Dominator jet pump rebuilt by them before and they did an outstanding job. This time I asked if they could take their time due to my limited budget and they were nice enough to oblige. I have been sending money when I can and they have not pressured me at all. I am pretty sure this is not the way they usually do business and perhaps they felt my strain. Lewis and Larry both have been aces to me, truly great guys. They do quality work by quality people and will always get my recommendation. If you want the best go to the best!

Unless your going to be spending $50000 on a engine here, don't bother. The owner acted like he had better things to do, and did not listen to a word I said. Took 2 months for a estimate and then he said I owed him $800 just to tear down a motor. I was a little shocked. When I dropped off he said nothing of the sort or that it would be that much. little steep for just a estimate.

Just want to put the word out... Larry's just finished the R&R / Repairs on my 455 olds, yes it was expensive but i feel it was fairly priced for the work involved. She had two detonated pistons and a whole mess of problems. They took the engine out of the boat striped the motor down to the block and replaced and reinstalled every thing on this long block. Also minor repairs/add ons installed as well. The work is sound, test hit on the lake went smooth what a great ride This 71' Cheetah and 455 and its owners are happy to have Larry's around.

A short time ago I was like you, reading these reviews and trying to get a sense of what Larry's engine and marine was all about. Now that I've gone through the process, here's my review. This place is a one-stop shop with everything you need under one roof, therefore, nothing is lost in communication and your work is done much quicker and effectively. Larry is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to talk to and will be your best advisor to accomplish your goals. I had Larry build a motor for a propane bobtail engine (not his normal work) The people that make the mixer said it produces 300hp. The motor Larry built made 370 hp which means Larry's motor was over 20% more efficient. Can you imagine, over the next 200,000 miles how much it will benefit my company? I highly recommend Larry's Engine & Marine.
