This is a small owner business and I really wanted to support them. They have a lot of variety of talavera pottery to choose from. At a cursory glance the prices were better here than a lot of online businesses. I was looking for talavera address tiles and a holder. The shop has a great selection of numbered tiles but unfortunately they didn't have a high contrasty one I was looking for, but they did have the metal holders which I also needed. I bought the tiles from a different local store. Tip 1: Don't make the same mistake I made. If you buy them from somewhere else, bring them all in to try in the frame. That's because, the sizes and shapes of both the tiles and the holders are asymmetrical and it's a matter of trying to get the best fit.The lady that owns the store is very nice and helpful and will these things to you. Tip 2: Make sure you absolutely love what you are getting because once you buy it there are exchanges or store credit, no refunds.Tip 3: The opening and closing hours are not strictly adhered. I waited twice outside the store, once at opening and once 20 min after opening time and the store was not open. Reading other reviews I'm not the only person this happened too. It's the same with closing time. They may close up early. I would suggest calling ahead first so you don't waste your time driving like I did. This is the only reason I'm taking one star off.

Smaller pool. Deck needs to be washed daily. Tons of ants at pool, needs to be sprayed! Water temp in pool is perfect. Hot Tub is same temp and needs to be hotter. Towels not kept replaced and ready.

I really tried to shop here. Unfortunately, although it was business hours, there was no way to get in. Their irate guard dog made me retreat to my car, where I called their business number several times, hoping I could talk to someone and be let in. It was a 100 degree summer morning, and so after about 25 minutes, I had to give up and go to another store. Such a shame, because their pots looked really nice from the safety of my car.

I love this place! The owners are very friendly and they always have a wonderful selection of Talavera pottery items available, such as cups, plates, bowls, tiles, pots, animals, wall decor, mirrors, bathroom sinks, and so forth. They also carry a small selection of beautiful rustic furniture items. Whenever I want to treat myself, I go there and browse their collection. So far I have nearly two dozen Talavera cups because I just adore the colors and designs, plus quite a few other items, including the most charming bench that we purchased to go near our front entrance. I recently purchased the most adorable hand painted roadrunner that I placed outside near a planter. I could spend my entire income at La Sandia Pottery, and highly recommend it. It's my to-go place when I need to be cheered up.

I had a burro y un carro emergency and hoped Garden Center of Tucson would save the day. You see, a few years ago I purchased a good sized ceramic donkey with a cute wooden cart in Nogales, MX for my daughter for Christmas. She and her husband loved that thing and it had a place of honor in their front yard. Sadly some fools thought they had a better home for it and stole it one night not too long ago.So it's Christmas and I want to get them another but had no time to go south of the border so I started my search. Went to a few places and couldn't find anything that would do. L & I stopped in at Garden Center and didn't find what we wanted although they have some great pieces and a wide variety of artwork. But then a whole different kind of magic happened. We walked to the very back of the lot where some metal sculptures and rusty items were arranged. The idea of the ass and his wagon quickly flew out of my mind when I saw the perfect gift. I snatched it up (along with a great metal javelina) and a price was quickly negotiated for both pieces.Christmas morning arrived and I'm happy to say that my offspring was pleased. The funky, metal skeleton dog now adorned the BACK yard of her house. Garden Center has plenty of trinkets and yard art. I did fall in love with a giant ceramic black & white painted Catrina that I would kill to own but was beyond my price range. I'll be doing a lot more shopping at Garden Center though. But I guess a trip across the border still has to be scheduled for the burro.

They are super friendly and accommodating family owned. I had my kitchen updated and wanted to have talavera tile. I found unusual tiles there I didnt see anywhere else. When they didnt have enough they were happy to order more. I also believe they discounted me for buying a large amount. They also have great usual art pieces there. If you are looking for beautiful pottery, gifts or tiles come here.

I don't know how they stay in business. They have the highest prices in town on all of their talavera items. Ridiculous. Go to Borderlands or Zona Fountain for your talavera items.

I was cruisin' down Grant on my way home from the Grantstone Supermarket, when I was my first piece of Talaverna pottery.....I quickly spun my car around in a u-turn...I didn't even care that it was pouring rain, I knew I had to explore. This place is a treasure trove inside and out! It is so much more than a garden store...it has stunning ceramics for inside and outside of your abode. Some of these planters were almost 4ft. tall! Belly pots, campana pots, oval pots, rope pots, square cone pots and bowl pots abound! The pots, some tiles (55 cents-75 cents), chimenea, large animals and mini animals are all outside wrapping all the way around the building. The star of the show here is the Talaverna pottery, aka happy pottery, because of all the bright and cheerful colors. They have pots, plates, tiles, frogs, owls, parrots, turtles, mini animals, switch plates, murals, house numbers even sinks! How how I coveted the stunning sinks, in their brightly colored cabinets with stunning tiled mirrors. It is my new bathroom concept.Even more coveted was the taller than me ceramic Talaverna Catrinas (see pic)...I have never ever seen a cooler Dia de muertos item in my life. I swear I think my jaw dropped when I saw them. Jose Guadalupe Posada (the original La Catrina artist) would even fancy these! Pricey though at over 500 dollars.Fear not if you must have some day of the dead items they have really cool tiles (see pic) for a mere dollar. In the middle of the store are stunning mirrors covered in milagros, boxes adorned in milagros, crosses decked out in milagros...and near the register a bowl full of milagros! I had no clue, what they were, but I did know, I was into them big time. I ran home and googled them, and I learned they are amulets/tokens/usually metal that are physical representations of a prayer or to give thanks ie: if I had a broken hand, I would give a hand shaped milagro to pray for my healing....it my new thing fo sho! There is a nice selection of metal and concrete tiled patio sets and benches. Giant metal bobble head ardvarks are outside off to a corner. Inside there are really cool paper flowers.Price range 10 cents- 600 smackers.......kinda a big range.

They do not open when they state and don't answer the phones. We have tried for 3 days and it is the same thing. Three cars were here. Lots if inventory in the yard. No one to sell it to us.

Beautiful Tucsonian owned business. Lots of products-Talavera, to choose from. If you buy enough; three items or more or so, at least for me, there was a 15% discount, which I took. I found exactly what I wanted. I will be back for other stuff, reminded me of a store in Mexico City and Nogales Sonora.
