La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Tucson East

I'll start with the good: This location is very central to a lot of food places, and between Downtown Tucson and Saguaro National Park. This hotel has PLENTY of parking. And the rooms were very inexpensive which allowed us more money to do fun things on our trip to Tucson. They have Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and popcorn in the lobby during the day. They have Dove toiletry products. The not-so-good: We checked in online and when we got there, found out the desk agent didn't have access to online check in, so we had to check in again--probably not the norm, but annoying. The room was a little dirty, there was a stain on the side of one of the beds, and the bathroom area wasn't well-maintained. The toilet had stains in it, and didn't flush easily. The bathroom sink was clogged and took a few minutes to drain. Housekeeping was hit-or-miss, with one day returning to only one bed made, bags hung in the trash cans for us to put in, shampoo on one day, conditioner on the next. Breakfast service is from 6:00-9:00 though we saw it as late as 9:30. Choices were hit or miss too, though waffles and cereal were always guaranteed. Oddly, each time we were there, a woman came in who seemed to know the person in charge of breakfast. She would fill up personal Gatorade bottles with juice. The experience was odd, but not the worst. We didn't experience bed bugs or anything, but I feel like I'd have been mad if I paid more for what we got.

This place has the most incredibly filthy rooms. Especially the bathrooms. Moldy ceilings. Tons of hair and gunk all over the floor and in the tub. Something gross smeared on the tp dispenser. And more. The included breakfast was sooo lame. Even if it wasn't I wouldn't expect the kitchen to be any cleaner than the rooms. In our 4 day stay we had three different rooms, due to toilet over flowing and no hot water. And the over flowing toilet, we were given a plunger to fix ourselves. I couldn't believe it! No hot water in the hot tub. Cigarette butts all over the property. And the staff, snarky and beyond rude. I wish I would have just pitched a tent in the desert.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. We checked in today, Aug 2, 2024 for room #112 which smelled of cigarettes and had dead bugs/roaches in it. My boyfriend asked for a refund or a room change due to the smell and we were switched to room #155 which also smelled of cigarettes, and had even more dead bugs. I went back to reception to ask for a refund or room change and spoke with Lillyana and she said she could switch us to another room or we can contact expedia to get a refund. So we decided to contact expedia to get a refund which took about 40 mins to an hour to get ahold of. Expedia told us that the hotel management had to approve the refund, so we went back and asked to speak with a manager. Expedia also told us that the receptionist said that we never complained about the second room, which was weird since she offered us a third room before I called expedia. The receptionist called the manager and I explained our situation about how we do not feel comfortable staying the night with the lack of cleanliness. The manager then tried to gaslight us by saying that it's "monsoon season" and that the bugs were dead and not alive. We have stayed at countless hotels across Texas, California, Louisiana, and Georgia and NEVER had an issue with bugs or roaches where they are very rampant especially with the season. The security deposit was also an outrageous $100. It was already late in the day and we were tired to continue to deal with this and the manager refused to offer a refund, so we booked a room with a hotel literally on the same block, barely a 2 min drive away and it was so much cleaner with no bugs and only had a $20 deposit. I can definitely say that my experience isn't unique since there are countless other reviews complaining about roaches, bed bugs, cigarette smells going back more than a year ago. Do not stay here.

The staff was friendly and very helpful throughout my stay. I stayed at here two nights at two different rooms and was satisfied with both. Rooms had fridge and microwave. It was clean and the A/C worked. Housekeeping was good and had all the towels, sheets, toiletries neatly set up. Free wifi and you can also link your phone to chromecast music and other apps to the TV. Price is good for the cleanliness of the hotel and the professionalism of the staff. If you want a deal- you can book on Expedia and other third parties.10 stars to the staff!! They made me feel so welcomed and accommodated to my needs :) Thanks again!

This is the most disgusting hotel we have ever been to. The room was filthy. Our shoes stuck to the carpet and tile. We drove from Los Angeles for an event with veterans. It was the hotel everyone attending stayed at. My son, a catastrophically wounded vet was extremely uncomfortable. There were crackheads and tweaker galore. It was so disgusting we came home a day early. Don't do it. Ruined the trip.

We weren't sure what we were going to find when we opened the door to the room. We had our dog with us and we've stayed at pet friendly hotels that were not very nice. This room was very nice, looked as though it had been recently remolded. It was clean and the bed was comfortable.The breakfast was a typical continental breakfast nothing to brag about but it was free.Staff were friendly and helpful too. I recommend this hotel!

The blanket was dirty underneath so they clearly don't change them every guest and the room smells like crack heads and prostitution... I'm literally holding my breath till I fall asleep because I have no extra money to wait on a debit card refund ... just gross...the smell man don't book here

This was a terrible experience for us. We booked online through Booking.com. It was described as a nice clean place, and the photos reflected such. When we got there, it was a dismal wreck of a place. It was unsavory, unsanitary, and unsafe. we walked into the room, took a look around, went to the front desk and checked out. when we tried to get our money back through Booking.com, They said we had to go through the hotel. The hotel then said we had to go through Booking.com. Thankfully, Bank of America looked at my grievance and refunded in full. Hopefully other people won't waste their time with this place.

Shower and toilet didn't work correctly. Room seemed mostly clean though. If the bathroom worked fine I would have given it 3 stars.

This hotel is the bomb, and what I mean by that it is one of the most crappy hotels I've ever stayed in. The bathrooms are filthy and have mold in the showers, not only the manager, but some of the staff were completely rude. And I'm not kidding when we pulled up in front of the doors. There was two guys who look like chronic drug addicts standing out front. The furniture is very old and some of the seats actually have holes in them. the showerhead was so bad when I turned on the water it shot the room across the bathroom onto the toilet paper. It was completely clogged so I had to take it off and clean it so it would work for our stay. Our bathroom sink had all kinds of hair still in it it wasn't cleaned and our shampoo bottle was completely empty. I would never recommend anybody staying here pay the extra money, get a better hotel!
