Enjoyed a great massage here and just hanging out in the jacuzzi and spa area while staying at the Westin. Theie flavored waters and snacks were refreshing. I was relaxed when I left.

I stayed up at La Paloma for 4 nights this pass week. I was very disappointed in how they have let it go down. My room was not cleaned the first day we were there. We had no towels for the next morning. They are rated a 4 diamond resort. Which should be taken away. The food was bad in Azul at breakfast. We ordered pancakes and could not cut them with a knife. The service was just ok. At 5 in the morning we were awakened but construction workers in the room above ours. Not a bright idea. The pool had thin old towels. I have been to many Westin Resorts that had nice pool towels. They had an event on Friday night and did not have the parking to accommodate that many cars. The management has really gone down. Maybe the Sarver management Company should pay more attention to details at the Resort.

Fantastic experience. Booked my tee time on the phone several weeks ago. Called to confirm and they had my time. I had also requested women's rental clubs when I booked. Those were ready for me as well! I checked in at the shop, where I paid and was given 6 Callaway balls with the la Paloma golf club logo on them. Fancy! I headed down towards the carts. Heads up- this is a steep hill; the elderly may have a hard time walking down especially if it has been raining. Be careful. I picked up my cart and the clubs were loaded up for me. The assistant checked the set and had me sign. I thought it interesting that on the form, the clubs were listed with their replacement fees in case anything happened! I signed and he gave me directions on where to go. It was a Callaway Rogue set, with Epic drivers. When I checked in with the time keeper, it was too late to get some practice shots in. He recommended to play from the reds. I started out on the Ridge course. I loved it. So beautiful. I even saw a rabbit, a roadrunner and a coyote! I had one of the best games of my life. The greens were gorgeous. Although I landed in the sand for most holes, I was able to get myself out and bogey every hole except the first. Two putted most holes; I shot a 46! I was impressed with the differing elevations along the course. It was so well kept. I left my sand wedge on one of the holes so I called the shop to alert them. They sent a guy to grab it and bring it to me! How kind. I needed that club! There were stations for trash and water along the way, as well as restrooms. I only had time to play a 9 but I wished for more. Took me about 2 hours to play, I was a little on top of the duo before me. I drove by the range on my way to return the cart. The rental set plus a 9 cost about $130. Not bad for a course in a gorgeous setting and perfect weather. I'd easily come back and play again if I'm in town.

The 2 stars here are for the beauty of the golf course. It'd only 2 stars because of the poor management and training of the golf course staff. Our tee time was early...first out. 1) The pro shop has been moved since we played there last. We wandered into a private meeting looking for it! Cart staff didn't tell us about the new location. 2) Three carts drove to the driving range. We were told the balls were not out yet so we waited by the mats for staff to get the balls out. And we waited. Two staffers watched us wait... No one told us the driving range had been moved! To the opposite end! Our host finally arrived and let us know. 3) We teed off on the Canyon Course; played hole 1, played hole 2 ... when a staff member comes to tell us "I NEED YOU TO MOVE TO RIDGE 5....WE PUT YOU OUT ON THE WRONG COURSE." !!!!! So we (4 carts... 2 foursomes) leave Canyon, drive ahead of 4 holes of stunned golfers to jump in front of them ON HOLE 5 of their course!!!!! This sure didn't help our game. In 40 years of golf at courses in AZ, California, Colorado, and elsewhere, I have NEVER BEEN so stunned by mismanagement. It's very sad... because the setting is beautiful. I think this is a Troon course. They would be embarrassed to know this is the representation of their company.

Pretty course I have played a few times as a hotel guest. Quite expensive, $200 per round. Even the hats in the pro shop are $55, so be aware.Course is quite difficult with rolling ridges on the side of many fairways. Hit in those and you may have to just pitch out. Greens are in great shape and lightning fast. You'd be advised to spend time on the practice green or you'll find a slight tap could send you 12 feet past the hole. Lots of scrub areas to hit over so if you top the ball much, better bring plenty of sleeves because civilizations 1000 years from now won't find those lost balls. The only course I have seen hundreds of balls embedded in saguaro cacti near the tees.Staff is nice and friendly, but the only reason not giving it 5 stars is, as beautiful as it is, $200 puts it as a little high for the value received.

The only reason I give this 5 stars is because of the courtesy, professionalism and respect you get from one individual who goes out of his way to make sure that all the guest are taken care of and the property is clean. David puts in more steps in one day then most people do in a week lol. Many thanks and much appreciated to David and we will be back.
