A wide variety of pastries and tortillas. The location on 12th Ave has been around for a long time. Service was quick, ambiance was ok. You just need to know what you want, order, pay and leave. My favorite are the empanadas, that day they had all flavors, apple, cherry, pineapple, pumpkin. The tortillas are ok but thicker than I like. Nice family run store.

People voted this the best in Tucson. I'm just amazed how a place known for pastries and tortillas actually offers some healthy options. Friendly people; great layout; and a few sugar-free options of baked vegetable chips and mindful munchies. I love it! Not to mention the pastries are pretty good.

Everything was so fresh and delicious. I wish I could have ate it all in one sitting. My first time trying conchas- they're amazing. The lady who helped me out was helpful and patient with me. Spent about $8 after taxes for all of this (for my husband and I) - worth every penny. Oh and the location was good too - they have parking on site.

I did not order anything because the one pan dulce I wanted was not present. Not to mention the parking situation. The homeless situation. The stray dog situation. The flies behind the glass situation. Sorry y'all did not meet my requirements. And that was a simple pan dulce. The one with cream butter on one side of it with sugar. If you are looking for the Pan De mantequilla don't go on a Saturday. You have better luck getting into a car accident due to the obstruction of other vehicles parked where they should not be.

Called ahead just to make sure they had spinach tortillas (yes)... Of course they are fresh and delicious as usual... AND of course, we'll be back to sample and enjoy more of their sweet and savory treats.

Absolute best bakery in town! Their donuts and conchas made an appearance on my wedding day, they are DELICIOUS. When my family comes to town I always take them to get some fresh flour tortillas and pastries. Love La Estrella!

I have always enjoyed getting tasty empanadas and conches at La Estrella, however my last visit a few days ago left me disappointed. As usual, I ordered a dozen pumpkin empanadas and a dozen conches. Here's what I noticed: The conches (sweet bread) had shrunk in size. I asked the girl waiting on my if they had in fact shrunk and she said yes and the price was still the same. On to the empanadas - they were very different from how they normally make them. The were very puffy and appeared as though a lot of yeast was used to make them rise. The pumpkin filling had almost no taste and wasn't sweet. After tasting them, the smell and taste was terrible. I am very disappointed that La Estrella may have changed their recipe to cut costs. I doubt I will be buying at La Estrella again.

Everything here is great but definitely pick up some conchas if it's your first time. Staff is super friendly and everything is very affordable.

Delicious donuts. Puffy and full of flavor. Flour tortillas are also delicious. Highly recommended
