This is my parents must-stop place on every trip to Tucson. The poke is good, but the people are the best. They're patient as my folks place their orders--which can be a slow process--but they've never been rushed. They're consistently very kind, the place is always spotlessly clean and the food is fresh and tasty.

I haven't had a poke bowl in a very long time! I wanted to have something light for dinner and decided a poke bowl would be just the thing. I ordered take out so I can't speak to service or ambiance but the food was delicious! I ordered a large poke bowl with salmon, ahi tuna, crab salad, seaweed salad, cucumbers, purple cabbage, carrots, roasted seaweed with a base of half white rice and half salad greens. So good!I would definitely recommended this place to anyone who likes poke. They have many different base and topping options!

I hadn't been to Jimmy's in a while, so my friend and I went for lunch today. The service couldn't have been better. I got the snack size poke bowl and it was the perfect size for me (much bigger than a snack). I was stuffed. I thought the price was a little high, but the portion size is very generous. You can get as many toppings as you want, and there's no extra charge for avocado. The tuna was very fresh. The jicama had an odd sour taste so I'd pass on that. I've also had their gyro which is just as good as the poke bowls.

OK, so when you pull up, it's a small shop with a few tables inside. There's essentially two ordering lines. The left one is for the pitas and the right one is for the Poké bowl. Left side is great and easy. The kid took my order, the Hercules, I went over to the other side to place my Poke order. As I was waiting in line, I was watching the girl make. I'm assuming are online orders. Their process seems to be to get the protein off the bar and put it into a stainless steel bowl and mix the spicy sauce or whatever sauce you pick. I watched this girl prep three orders in the same bowl. So neither to say, if you have allergies of some sort, you need to make it known. The other thing that I am observing is as she is picking up the different proteins if it falls on the counter, she proceeds to pick it up and put it in the bowl or in the dish. She is prepping. After she was done prepping the online orders, I got a large on greens for my proteins. I got spicy octopus, spicy tuna, and spicy salmon. I picked the rest of my sides and I go to pay. Now let's go to the flavor of everything. Everything so far taste great no stomach aches. Nothing taste, spoiled. My low rating goes more towards the cleanliness and the practices of this one particular employee.

Do you like fresh, delicious sushi, healthy food, and cool vibes? If so, this is the spot for you (and kiddos, if you have 'em). I selected a medium make-your-own bowl with generous portions of poke, salmon, salad, rice, avocado, jicama, corn salsa, green onions, carrots, cabbage, edamame, crispy onions, seaweed salad, pineapple, furikake, chili flakes and pickled ginger. I topped it all with the Trifecta combo: spicy Mayo, Eel, and house sauce. One word: AMAZING! The flavors danced around my mouth: sweet, spicy, tangy, gingery, and more! The crunch factor was SO SATISFYING! I left feeling healthier, well nourished and wanting more! The service was above par. The staff were so friendly and when I told them it was my first time, they went above and beyond to share their favs and recommendations! As an aside (but equally important in my mind), the bathrooms and restaurant were clean and organized, which makes a difference when you have toddlers who touch everything and stick their hands in their mouths. ;) I only wish we had these where I live!

Great food; it was fresh, delicious and quick. We both had poke bowls with tuna. I had never been there before so I appreciated their suggestions. I was impressed with the menu; you don't have to get poke. Next time I'll have to try something else!

LOCATION: Thornydale/Orange GrovePARKING: LotsWHAT I ORDERED:* BYO Snack Bowl (1 scoop of fish - $14.25)I had a few friends who had mentioned trying out Jimmy's, and I wanted to check it out, as I looooove poke! The fish was rather "fishy" and didn't taste as fresh as I am used to back in SoCal. However, my bowl was incredibly packed for a single scoop of fish! The person serving me was heavy-handed, and 1 scoop of fish was a surprisingly good amount. You can get unlimited add-ons, and they don't charge for avocado!!! They do charge if you want extra, though. There is also a plentiful amount of sauces and toppings to add. If you're not interested in building your own bowl, there are pre-set bowls that you can choose from. Overall, okay for a poke bowl in Tucson!
