This wonderful adobe gallery is now closed. It is a 7000 sq ft Adobe home built in the 1700 s. It is for sale at 298,000. You just look at it a wonder how you could make it a home. Tubac is a wonderful artist colony about 40 miles south of Tucson. Great place to spend the day. I was there today.

I met Hugh and olivia back in the 80's. I sold them a few Chryslers. We hit it off as we cound his grandfather and mine were friends back in New England. You know Hugh was a member of the families, the Cabots and the Lodges. You may know the name Henry Cabot Lodge. We were both black sheeps as we didnt turn out as our families has planned. Olivia....such a beautiful lady. She told me her grandmother was a madam in a N. AZ mining camp....lol. long story short. Hugh half blew hos hand away with a shotgun wad lodged in the barrel of a gift. He FINISHED the CHAMPION with his hand wrapped for the NFR in Vegas...in pain

The reviewers seem to be confusing Hugh and Olivia's studio at their home with this new gallery and museum in Tubac. I'm told that before her death, Olivia Cabot assigned all copyrights for Hugh's work, along with his collection of transparencies to Tom Martin, who opened this gallery in the Mercado De Tubac on Tubac Rd. He is selling originals as well as high quality Giclee prints. I bought two yesterday. Phone is 520 470-9432.

I have had the great pleasure of visiting this wonderful studio and finding out about this artist while snow-birding in Tucson, AZ as it is a great artist village to spend a day or more. It is truly a gifted town nestled in the beauty that is AZ, and the Cabot Studio and Gallery is wonderful and really makes one feel the beauty of the west and the cowboy. I loved getting art cards which I have framed, and only send handwritten notes to very special people because I do not really want to part with my note cards! One time that I visited, I had the great pleasure of speaking with Mrs Cabot and that was a special treat as she is a wonderful person to chat with and is very educated and energetic. I would highly recommend visiting this gallery and the Village of Tubac AZ as it is a wonderful experience. You can really immerse yourself in all that this town offers and come away enriched and wanting to have more of what you experience there. It is a place that makes one relax and enjoy life to the fullest. GO-ENJOY-DRINK IT ALL IN AND RELIVE THE EXPERIENCE!
