Buffet style free breakfast area
Construction, and noise. 1/2 the hotel is being remodeled.
Dirty carpet.
Paper cup for your wine?
Oh no! One elevator down.
What good is this bucket with no ice machine?
Gap under the door, wind blows in, sun shines in. Cold and Drafty.
Yay! Can't wait.
Carpet. Ugh.
A confortable view of part of our patio with full service from our restaurant and bar!
Newly renovated Tower Studio Room!
Drinks & Live Music
But yes the pool area is cute.
A night time view of our quiet and relaxing patio.

This hotel was SO close to getting one star but saved themselves with stellar customer service. And the fact that the 50+ bites on my body were from typhoon mosquitos, NOT bed bugs. I enjoyed all the photos of Hotel Tucson when I made reservations. Both the common areas and the room itself lived up to aesthetic expectations.Every time I went to the front desk for something, the staff was so friendly! Each morning when I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, again I was greeted with warmth. Sitting outside and doing work while gazing at the pool was lovely. Taking a dip was a death sentence because that's how I got eaten alive by mosquitos. Lesson learned.I appreciated management for checking on the room after the fact and following up in a timely manner, especially because I was freaking out. I can't think of any major complaints about Hotel Tucson. Parking was fine. I guess proximity to interesting Tucson things is lacking, but I was there for work so it's not like I had much time to hang out. Overall great for the price.

Worst hotel I've ever staid at. Everything is broken... hot tub:broken, elevator:broken, the pool is not heated like the website says. On our first morning I got stuck in the bathroom because the door was broken. Our room also smelled like literal dog poop. There was a stain on the bed sheets. We asked for our room to be cleaned at it never was. The breakfast was the only decent thing

Well, this hotel really has a lot of room for improvement. It wasn't terrible, but it was far from great. We had never visited Tucson before and decided to stay here for a week to look at property at the end of May. You're already going to find 95-100+ degree temperatures, so we wanted a place with a pool. This hotel is old and a little run down. Our real estate agent told us that this place was going to close some years back, but someone dumped a few million dollars into it to keep it running. My first reaction was they needed more millions, because it feels like they're trying to just keep running this place as-is until it's no longer feasible and it shuts down. There are five buildings that we saw, but only one was open for guests (of which there were very few). This hotel seems to be most popular with people passing through town and pulling off I-10 for the night. The parking lot is full of U-Hauls in the evening.Covid must have hit this place pretty hard and they just haven't rebounded. There were very few employees and the cleaning staff won't clean your room during your stay. They will bring some fresh towels and/or sheets, but you need to call and bug them to do it. The amenities are pretty sparse as well. The restaurant is closed and there is no bar or other alcohol anywhere on site. The ice machine is broken -- in Arizona. The ATM charges $5 to withdraw cash. The WiFi is horrible, and even the 5G service (AT&T) is pretty slow at this location. Don't count on being able to use the internet in any meaningful capacity. Now, let's talk about the pool. It's actually a pretty nice pool! It's heated to 78 degrees and there's a 12-foot deep end and a lot of room to float around. This was nice on the weekend which saw heavier traffic and more visitors. There's a problem though -- there is not much shade. If there are more than a few visitors it's going to be used up. There are also only three (!) lawn chairs, and they are so horrible it's laughable. One of them had a giant hole in it, and all of them have a metal bar right under your ass that makes them so uncomfortable to sit in, you might as well not bother. In addition, there is no food or drink allowed at the pool, though this didn't seem to stop most people. This is pretty annoying, though understandable. My beer was covered in ants pretty quickly so I imagine they want to avoid attracting bugs. Speaking of which, my fiance got stung by a bee in the pool on day one. These critters are all over the place. I would guess there is a nest somewhere in the area. The pool also closes at 7 sharp. At first I was annoyed, but we realized there's no sun after 6pm anyway and it was nice to get all the kids out of there to relax on the deck in the evening. Get pool towels early in the day -- they ran out most days and I think we were the only guests there. They just ended up handing out room towels.So... the room. It's kinda grungy, TBH. The carpet is old and gross, there are no glasses for drinks (only plastic cups), the beds are squishy and uncomfortable, the AC sounds like a Harley starting up every 15 minutes, the freeway and train noise is pretty loud, and the room smells old and funny. Not really a fan, but we made do. The price was about the only good thing about it.The hotel staff was generally very accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Especially Alyssa! She was so friendly and smiled every time we came or went. There was one time though where we forgot our room key so we walked up to a girl at the desk and said "hey we're in room 1234 and forgot our key" to which she responded "oh, are you Brian?" and handed us the key. Ummmm, that's not how it should work. Maybe check some ID? Not a very good security practice. So, that's that. There is a morning breakfast that's fine for starting off your day and is better than nothing, but not going to win any awards. As for Tucson itself, it's ok. It reminds me a bit of Austin before it was cool. We both wanted to like it more, and ended up leaving without making any offers on real estate. This time of year especially, the town is pretty dead with all the college kids having moved away for the summer. The market seems really inflated, just like everywhere else I suppose. In the end we decided to look elsewhere. It's not Austin, after all.

This is the roach motel - be warned. I complained about the roaches, non working lights in the room, the tub without a drain and bathroom mold. They told me it was under renovation. I paid over $220 per night and it wasn't worth $30 per night. It was family weekend so i was stuck here - everything was booked. I killed about 6 roaches and included photos. They said its sewer roaches and nothing they can do. These aren't sewer roaches. Watch your bags if you stay here. The roaches will try to go home with you. Also, the freight train is right here. You will hear the noise and train horn all night.

So....they are in the middle of renovations on a large part of the plae. The value for your money was spot on. The roo was very clean and the place had that classic feel and look to it. Sadly it also looked dated. HOWEVER, it is still a great place to stay. We walked (15 minutes) to the convention center and saw the Roadrunners Hockey game and walked back. The next day, after an extremely quiet night in comfortable sheets and a nice bed we walked to the art enclave. This place was so nice. They have a fantastic restaurant LaCo Tucson that is worth stopping at and eating. This restaurant is located in a shopping area full of little private shops with all sort of interesting and neat items. So there is a lot to do around this place and a lot of it is in walking distance and the price is very right.

I had a reservation and confirmation. They refused to help or give us a room. Asking us to cancel reservation and rebook at a higher price. Upon asking for the manager she got upset and said she would not book us a room. She refused to help. Very rude.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. My wife and I made a trip to Tucson to see some friends that were visiting from Salt Lake City. My friend asked at the time of booking if it would be OK to have 2-3 outside guests join her the pool and they said it would be fine, there were just some waivers to be signed. My wife and I arrived Saturday afternoon and immediately the waitress came out to the pool and told her that she needed to go talk to the manager about having us there. My friend explained that we would wait to order food and drinks until she came back from talking to the manager and explained that we were ready to spent the afternoon there and purchase food and alcohol from them (there were five of us). She went inside and after a few minutes said "they want us to pack up and leave. They said it is not worth it to them for us to spend money there". She asked the person at the counter if she could talk to the manager that made the decision and was told "he'd rather not come talk to you". So we did. We packed up everything and left and if it weren't because it was passed noon, she and another friend would have checked out early. The level of idiocy and incompetence that was displayed during this interaction, on the side of the hotel management was, to me, unprecedented. I'll leave a picture of the crowd at the pool at the time we left. The pool area is nice but the rooms are a step below ghetto. DO NOT STAY HERE.Here you go.

Stayed here two nights. I really liked the hotel and there was much to like. The staff was completely wonderful. I cannot praise the staff enough. They really were friendly and professional. All of them. The reception staff, the custodial staff and the food service staff, all wonderful. The hotel was beautiful and clean. The room was spotless. There were a couple issues that the hotel needs to attend to. First thing I noticed upon entering the room was light coming through the door jamb that leads to the balcony. It would not have been a problem but I picked the coldest days of the year to go to Tucson and I could feel the cool air on the floor. I solved this by putting a towel on the floor.Due to outside issues there was no cable tv or wifi. They did give a 15% rebate for this issue. The free breakfast was great. I expected fruit and coffee but they had eggs and bacon, toast, fruit, juice and coffee. Important warning, there are railroad tracks in the vicinity and the trains blow the horns all night. All in all I would stay here again.

Stayed one night here and the entire site is under renovation. It's a Choice Hotel brand and when we booked the website did not make us aware of the transition to this hotel converting to an apartment living lifestyle. Apparently this has been in the works since 2021 when a Scottsdale real estate firmWas trying to change the zoning into residential living. Although people were friendly, the space was not desirable for the price. Choice hotels is out by this May according to their staff. Thought it was kind of deceitful this was not communicated up front.

We had a pleasant one night stay at this hotel. The check-in process was quick and easy. The lobby is very appealing and spacious. Our room was clean upon arrival, beds were comfortable, and the private patio was a plus. There was a microwave and mini fridge in the room. You can tell the hotel is under remodel and they are in the process of overall improving the place. Free breakfast was a nice touch, buffet style. Breakfast consisted of eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast. They also offered yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, hot tea and orange juice. The staff was great at refilling food and drinks. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. We understand this hotel is a work in progress and we would definitely return in the future.
