Our health and living space made us give up our pet cat of 8 years. It was a hard thing to do for my wife and I.I read every review of every shelter in Tucson before driving to Hope. Although it was beyond hours, Susan greeted us, answered questions, and, in reality, comforted both of us. She also offered any help she could give to our situation.Indecision kept us busy for two more weeks, but decision made, we called her.She and a volunteer came on a Sunday and collected our surplus and our cat, taking time from her weekend to let us say goodbye, assuring his care, and thanking us for the privilege of being able to help. Fantastic, caring organization. We are indepted, and will be in their support list for a long time.If you are searching for a new furry friend, give them a call. You'll leave with a good feeling of meeting the people as well as the friend I hope you'll meet there and bring home.

Thank you, Katie, for providing a terrific tour of Hope Animal Shelter in Marana, AZ. This "no kill" 4 acre shelter rescues at-risk cats and dogs. A worthy non-profit for donations and volunteers!! A great place to adopt, too!!!A little hard to find cuz it's on a dirt road with small signs. But worth it!!

The staff came to my work for an event. The volunteers were all very knowledgeable about the animals back stories. My girl and I fell in love with a rough looking, one-eyed cat named Tom. Rory, the new director was super patient and answered all our questions, addresses our concerns. The road to get there is a little rough. The place is unassuming. And you walk in and all the cats are walking around, lounging, snoozing. We were able to walk around, pet kitties, learn more about the organization. Tom is home and adapting. Adopt a kitty. Adopt a doggie. They need love and patience.

Hope animal shelter is an amazing no kill shelter to adopt pets from. We adopted our cat Salem from a litter that was cared for by them. They were all very friendly and well socialized that it was hard to pick one and not all! We have had cats before but salem is the most loving caring cat we have had. Truely a family member. No doubt because of the treatment and care of their cats early on. My son and I have gone back and volunteered many times since and we partipicated in many of their fund raising events as well. My husband went to donate some cat food the other day and the owner Susan gave him a personal tour of their new facilities in Marana. She was just an amazing person and left a great impression. This is a place that we will be part of for life. My son is putting more service hours there soon for boy scouts. Very impressive how its run and how friendly everyone one we dealt with was, people and animals! The go to place for adopting animals from a no kill shelter.

Two years ago we were looking for a new pup and finally found Hope in Tucson. A wonderful organization, they called and said they were rescuing a mom and 3 pups and thought either the Mom or one of the pups was what we were looking for. We got to visit the Mom and pups at her wonderful foster home and picked out our girl pup. The foster home was incredible and we love our dog so much. This is a wonderful organization to support. This shelter takes great care of the animals, and you can tell that the caretakers really love them and treat them well. The dog I adopted is already perfectly trained and is an amazing girl. I'm so happy to have found Hope.

This is information for animal owners inside and out, if your animal comes up missing, beware this could happen to you. This facility is deeply concerning, I believe they have a very cruel policy and procedure, if that is what it is. They claim on their website they do not take surrenders; however, on November 29th, our outdoor kitten came up missing. She has a mother and siblings that are semi feral, we have been working with one of the kittens to which she became very friendly and loving, she followed an elderly family member out for a walk, and he did not realize it was following him, the neighbor picked up the kitten and advertised it on social media, a found kitten, (she kept it overnight,) We searched for her that night and the next morning we were searching for her when we discovered it on the social media. (November 30th), we contacted this lady, and she said she took it to HOPE ANIMAL SHELTER that morning, we immediately called several times and finally someone answered, and I told the lady on the phone who found our kitten, she advised that she dropped the kitten at your shelter, we wanted to know if we can come and identify her, and she said this was highly unusual and would have to talk to her manager and call me back. Waited until the next day and still no call back, I tried contacting the Director, NO RESPONSE at all, phone and social media Messager. Called again today only to be told it maybe the kitten we are looking for, but it now belongs to them, and I will not be able to get her back, we also cannot come and identify her. Perhaps an application and 150.00 fee, no guarantee. This has been a terrible heartbreaking ordeal. Our family is completely heartbroken. This has absolutely changed my outlook on shelters and what they really are all about. Perhaps it is only about the $$$.

Staff were pleasant to work with throughout my adoption process. Being very particular meant spending a lot of time to make sure my new best friend would be a perfect fit for my lifestyle. Facilities provided a great environment to see the pets in action and I was pleased how staff worked with me to make sure everything was a perfect fit. This is a great place to explore and support for their no-kill adoption services.
