We stopped in and rang the bell a couple times and no one answered. The sign said they were open...we will try again. We enjoyed the Jeep ride out to their place as it is off the beaten path.

This is a family-run winery near Bisbee that brings back all of the personal touches of winemaking. You can see the real labor of love here. During our visit, we were treated to tastings of many different wines - they are not shy in sharing their wonderful product with you - followed by a tour of their small but impressive facilities. The whole experience was warm and welcoming from start to finish. Their riesling is special and worth a try for certain. They also have a delightful pinot noir made with Hungarian oak that creates a subtle vanilla flavor that is so enjoyable. I also have to give props to their respect of health during these unprecedented times. They took temperatures, asked for contact tracing information, and wore masks when appropriate.

Great wine tasting of the most unique German wines. Chuck Hoffman is very hospitable and extremely knowledgable. He told the most interesting stories as he served and explained each unique wine. We loved our visit and our wines. Close to Bisbee. 5 Star ++.

Absolute best wine tasting and tour we have any done. Charles and Karen are very gracious and knowledgeable. Charles takes you on a tour and uses a wine thief to allow you barrel tastings. Their wines are in the German style. They are amazing! We dropped some serious coin here because there were so many excellent wines.

Interesting wines with their Riesling being our favorite. If your looking for unique options and earthy tasting wines you will enjoy this discovery. This is not for those who prefer a traditional bold red wines or a Chardonnay barreled in oak.

We had a wonderful experience tasting fine wine at Hofmann Vineyards. It's an excellent stop if you are visiting Tombstone, Bisbee or the surrounding area.

We called for availability to park our RV to stay one night before going to Tombstone the next day. The owner said they had plenty of space. The vineyard is about 20 minutes east of Tombstone. There is a nicely graded dirt road for about a mile between the highway and the winery. We had no problem pulling our 30' trailer with only a few bumps in the road. It's well graded. The owners, Charles and Karen, greeted us at the entrance and gave us a tour of the vineyard, in their side-by -sides and helped us look around for a place to set up the RV. We then went in for some wine tasting. Very good wine. Very nice hosts. We got a history of their growing winery and saw how they processed their wine. There is only one place to buy a bottle of their wine and this was it. So, take a trip out to see this vineyard. We will be back.

Went to this winery when visited Bisbee in March. This is a great winery to visit. It's off the beaten path but certainly worth the trip. The owners are great. So knowledgeable about making wine and so willing and happy to share their knowledge. They are a warm and friendly couple and so welcoming. We spent a couple of hours there trying various wines all were excellent. We brought several bottles home and have enjoyed every one. We are having the Cab right now and it is yummy! Definitely different than your typical Cab. We also love the Riesling and this was surprising for my husband who traditionally doesn't like white wine. We have shared some bottles with friends who love wine and they really enjoyed the Hofmann wines too. Can't wait to return and get replenished and visit with this amazing couple.

WOW. A Cadillac experience among wineries and tasting rooms. Chuck & Karen have the neatest little off-the-grid winery about 15 minutes west of McNeal AZ. Remote and very much worth your time to go there. Where do I start? My wife and I are spending our honeymoon in beautiful SE Arizona, which is God's country. One day I planned a round trip to 3 wineries in McNeal, Tombstone and Bisbee. We only made it to Chuck & Karen's winery in McNeal. Haha!! My wife and I were Chuck's captive audience for 4 hours. It was an all day experience with the drive from Bisbee and lunch afterward. We did MANY thing you NEVER get to do on other wine tastings. For starters we received unlimited tastings and a wine glass for only $15. At most other wineries you get 5-6 tastings and a kick in the butt on your way out the door. In all Chuck let us sample about 25 wines for $15. And Included in our tastings were barrel tastings - wines that came right from the tap of cellared aging barrels. You NEVER get barrel tastings anywhere else unless you pay big bucks in Napa Valley. A joke I heard today is that Napa makes auto parts, but southeast Arizona makes fine wines. I believe this to be a true statement, as my wife and I are both true Arizonans who know the beauty secrets of this state. Chuck then took us on a full tour of the entire winery, where we learned intricate details about how the best and most expensive wines in the world are made. Chuck & Karen specialize in Old World European style wines -- using German, Austrian and Hungarian traditional methods. Some of these wines you will find nowhere else in the US or Arizona but here. Plus you can't buy these wines in stores or restaurants, but only HERE at the winery premises in McNeal AZ. Additionally, some of their grape varietals are not found anywhere else in Arizona or the US. And when I say this winery is off the grid, it means they have their own water system they built themselves, their own 100% solar electric system, etc. It is enough power to run the house, the water system and the entire winery. The price of an annual membership at Hofmann Vineyards is just to buy a case of wine which is 12 bottles averaging about $30 a bottle. They may make their wines with the most expensive methods in the world, but they don't charge you an arm and a leg for their wines. SIGN US UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP! PLEASE!!! One other winery/distillery in Elgin treated us like crap, so we left without finishing our tastings. After experiencing Hofmann Vineyards however, and the royal treatment we received there, we will not tolerate any wineries that treat us like crap and just want our money for a measly few tastings, no tour, and can't wait til we leave. We will be back to see Chuck and Karen again though. They are real people and they cared about us enough to treat us how they want to be treated themselves at a winery.. We would rate Hofmann Vineyards 10 stars if we could on Yelp.
