I've been to C.O.D. Five times in the past two years. I'm gluten and dairy free and I've been to A LOT of workshops, classes, retreats, etc. Normally I pack my own food with me because for some reason, even in today's world, people find gluten free & dairy free to be an insurmountable challenge. Not this place. I have never enjoyed such a wide variety of choices. Yes, I said choices. I could actually choose from different dishes at each meal and every lunch and dinner came with a GF/DF dessert option! In all my illustrious travels, this treatment is unprecedented. I feel spoiled when I come here. One night they even made homemade dairy free ice cream. Stay here and say goodbye to the old "I guess I'll just have salad all week since there's nothing else I can eat" syndrome. It's not all about the food either. The location is beautiful and secluded with plenty of hiking trails. Seriously incredible views of the desert/hills.The rooms are a bit rustic, but I enjoyed their quirkiness. It helped me to remember I was someplace special, someplace not to be taken for granted. I stayed in three different rooms over the years and each had its own bathroom, multiple beds, dresser, heater, and I think they had A/C (never used it). I was always comfortable and slept well. They also have a pool, jacuzzi and wonderful fire pit with benches around it.Cell reception is spotty (that's a plus in my book), but they provide wifi, so if you need to stay connected, you can.The staff is also really friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what else to say other than I'd recommend coming here. It isn't a fancy resort, but if you want to find a place where you can slow down and fall back in love with the world again, give C.O.D. a shot!

A magical place to host a retreat. All the comforts but most importantly, tons of charm and privacy. (Most retreat centers are soulless and bland, IMO). Breathtaking views and great food. Highly recommend and our group always loves it! Like going to another world.

This place to begin with is very shabby and not kept up. This is far from rustic to top it off thinking to help the facility we decided to use this property however the owner Steve is very rude arrogant and egoistical. The one good things big about this place is the view from this property. The chef David(dave) is really sweet!

We are a family of 20 people and wanted to do something different for Christmas. We booked the COD Ranch for our Christmas. Steve the owner was very accommodating and fun to work with. I wanted a special Christmas menu and Steve said: "Whatever I wanted." The food prepared by Chef Dave was fabulous. We are a group from ages 2 -72 and everyone was happy. The children stayed in the bunkhouse and had a ball away from the parents. Each couple had their own room. The Ranch itself is rustic but comfortable and Steve, Eric and Dave make it such fun. The setting is spectacular with great vistas. Each night Eric, the manager , made sure we had a fire going in the main house and a bonfire outside. We all gathered around the bonfire at night drinking hot toddys and roasting marshmallows for the kids. The patio heaters were lit during the day for our lunches. It was a memorable Christmas. My adult children all say it was one of the most memorable Christmas's ever.We will be back.

Our family was planning a reunion at the COD Ranch in January 2017. Unfortunately, we had to cancel this event. We notified COD Ranch of our situation in November of 2016, 60 days prior to the event. Low and behold it fell on deaf and uncooperative ears. COD Ranch has refused to answer our emails and inquiries about the substantial deposit we made. They have failed to even negotiate on the issue. As far as we are concerned COD Ranch is shoddy, crooked, and unprofessional venue. I recommend extreme caution when dealing with this establishment and its management on a financial level.
