Binder clips holding the edge of the umbrellas on the frame. Some were just dangling off. This is the new standard for Hilton evidently.
No towels. Second day in a row where they ran out at the Hilton "resort."

Went to El Conquistador for a quick Saturday night trip with the wife unit. Spent a day at the pool; hiked Sabino Canyon (the next AM), then after a quick touch-up on the tan at the pool Sunday AM... Scampered back home to Phoenix. Will run with the standard 1X-2X trip with the grandkids (age 10-12) here over the summer. As always, rooms are pretty decent. Tad bit dated, but not bad by any means. The pool and the incredible view(s) are the real catch. Very good pool, magnificent views. Shout out to my boy Joey and the awesome Danielle at the pool. Really nice young staff who do a great job. The pool is definitely where it's at. GREAT drinks, pretty solid poolside food.We ordered room service late in the evening. Not a bad Chx quesadilla, but not like ordering at the AWESOME poolside bar. All very good to excellent in the end. With prompt/friendly service at the front desk when checking in/out, and outstanding service from ALL of the pool bar staff we interacted with. Been going to the El Conquistador since day one in the late-80's, and they are doing doing a great job re: staff and the view is incredible. Rooms are certainly nice as well.

Staff is great, rooms are good, food options are minimal, check out is difficult. I stayed here for 6 nights for a conference being held on site. I had a king room with a sofa bed and a balcony. The room itself was comfortable and basic. The balcony faced out which was nice for working outside in the evening. The staff was always helpful. There were several times throughout my stay when I went by the front desk for help. The restaurants' staff were also very nice (except for the bar area; always had trouble getting service the 3 times I tried).Unfortunately the food options were minimal. Most times there was only one option for the meal time, or snacks at the bar or coffee shop. If you are here for a while, I recommend getting a Lyft (cheaper than Uber while I was there) to leave the area. There is also no airport shuttle (likely because they are very far from the airport). They have a hiking trail nearby. Make sure you get good instructions from the front desk or get a valet to take you nearly there. There is no signage until you reach the trailhead (about 0.5 miles including stairs).Check out was really difficult. I saw people checking out over several days, and during that time every time their "systems were down." That's over several days. My roommate wanted to split the costs of our rooms, which should have been easy enough like at other hotels but it wasn't here. They ended up putting a hold for the whole room on both of our cards (taken off later but that was a problem for her). The gym is accessible 24/7 with your room card. They have several cardio machines, a water erg, TRX, dumbbells, and some pulleys. They also offer gym classes periodically but I couldn't make it to one. Next time: I'll make reservations for food elsewhere, but plan for a comfortable night sleep if you're on a back side.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced! A monsoon hit and the hallway to our room AND our room were FLOODED! I had to walk in ankle deep water to retrieve my belongings. The hotel had people knocking on doors yelling we had to evacuate, but no one helping. I luckily had grabbed a bellman and he was so nice. A third of our clothes were soaked in nasty swampy water. The front desk person didn't offer to reimburse any costs, plus we got charged $50 for leaving 1 day early on our planned reservation!!! When we asked for anything at this property, there was a stock answer "I can't authorize that, I'll have to check with the manager". The "manager" never surfaced for 2 days.

This is a decently nice hotel, but if you're hoping for a relaxing time, look elsewhere! Not only do they have blaring rock music in all of the public spaces and gardeners that start with gas powered blowers and mowers at 8:01 am on the dot, the pool area has absolutely BLARINGLY LOUD music all afternoon. I can't even attempt an afternoon nap in my room as even with the patio doors closed all the way, the music is loud and reverberating. It is actually ridiculously loud!! Not a relaxing experience in the slightest and I would never return!! What a horrible place!!! Who are they catering to? This is a hotel, not a theme park!!!

I had a great deal of anxiety before I checked in but the staff was kind and understanding. I checked in early, ordered Champagne and a fresh fruit and cheese platter because this was such a life changing day. Around 6:00 there was a knock at the door. At 6:06 I lost my virginity.

An older style hotel, but nicely redone & super nice pool area! Very clean, and the lobby/staff were super friendly! I'd stay here again....good representation of a Hilton property...it's just an older property.

Was here for three days on a work trip. Started off at check in to find out the AC was broke ( no email or phone call in advance to let me know). They had a back up unit of some sort that at least kept rooms from getting unbearably hot ( it was over 100 degrees each day) . Went to building my room was in and key to gate would not work . Ended up calling front desk multiple times throughout my stay to assist in opening gate ( and saw same issue with many other guests). Hallways to room were dirty, definitely needed a good vacuum. Room itself had candy on floor and shower wasn't super clean. This hotel was probably lovely years ago, but in dire need of an upgrade....rooms, and gate entries for sure. I got one free breakfast voucher and a few extra points for the inconveniences but had to ask for these. My feedback is given only in the hopes upper management takes these reviews into consideration. Hopefully they can budget some upgrades soon as location and setting are very nice.

I love the exterior and the grounds, very well kept and lovely. The rooms need to be updated. The tiny bathroom was not well planned at all. One sink? There should be a sink at the vanity area outside the bathroom as well. The shower mead needs to be updated. We stayed at a time share in Virginia in May, with a full kitchen, two bedrooms and two baths and a living room for $500 fir a full week! It was amazing! The master bath was huge, with a large walk in shower, a vanity area with a stool and a magnifying mirror. It was amazing! You could learn a lot from this model! Memory foam mattresses are needed. There are two tiny trash cans in the room, not even standard small. More USB and electrical outlets are needed. The air conditioning worked, however, it was too cold. We set it at 75, and it got no higher than 67. So, I wasn't able to sleep because I kept having to get up to turn the air off and on to try to keep the room comfortable. This is ridiculous. I could have stayed home, spent a lot less money, and got a lot more rest!

Beautiful and historic resort- perfect for quick getaway, long vacation, or business gathering. Set at the north side base of the Santa Catalina's, the surroundings set a relaxing and stunning environment.Staff was wonderful, rooms were beautifully designed, very nice gift shop. All the pools offered something for every age. The horseback riding was not available, and the golf course was closed, but it was too hot to do either anyway. Spa on site is pricey, but I heard it was worth it. Lots of things to do in the area, too!We had an awesome time and would love to come back!

It would be nice if the pool area at this Hilton "resort" actually had towels. Yesterday, on 7/1, they ran out of towels at the pool area. I asked when they would have more and they said a couple hours. Then they brought out 4 at a time. It was weird. I know this may seem like a petty complaint but what am I'm paying a resort fee for when there's no towels? And like clock work they just looked at me with a blank expression. Then we come back to the pool area the next morning and, shocker, no towels again. I call the front desk and they say their getting them cleaned and will be out soon. And then when I look closer, I can see that the umbrellas are falling apart and they're using binder clips to hold them on the end of the umbrella stands (see pictures). This isnt the end of the world, but it's indicative of how this "resort" is being managed with quick-fix band aids instead of properly repaired or new amenities. A manager should never allow something like binder clips to be used for quick-fix issues. This is a Hilton resort, not a highway motel. They certainly have no problem with charging $29 for a resort fee each night your here, but when it comes to towels you're out of luck if they run out. And instead of buying new amenities, binder clips will do. Nice to know what the standard is at Tucson's flagship Hilton Conquistador Resort.
