Cowboy western vibes are always on point at Hifalutin. We love to take out of town guests here because of the decor! The blue corn muffins that they serve to every table are delicious and a unique touch! This most recent visit my husband had the 10oz prime rib with basil mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. He loved the meat and mashed potatoes but felt like the mixed veggies were hard and not cooked enough. I had the steak fajitas with flour tortillas. The fajita meat had spice to it but the lemons they served with it helped balance that out. It was a huge portion that tasted great as leftovers!

If we could give a 10+, we would! It's been several years since I've been here but we found ourselves in Tucson for a quick trip and came here for dinner. Was not disappointment, as I remembered!We were seated immediately and our server, Jessica, was quick to come over, welcome us, and offer drinks. I remembered the dishes here being big so we decided to split the New York Strip, which was like 12 or 14 ounces, so way big for two people. We asked for the baked potato and we started with a Cesar Salad...and yup, asked for extra dressing! The salad was great, with lots of dark green leafy romaine, shredded parm, and the biggest croutons ever! The croutons were covered some some great tasting spices and it really added to the salad. Their dressing is creamy, lightly garlic, and really really good! The meal also comes with blue corn muffins, which were warm and served with pats of whipped butter. These little muffins are so delicious and savory and they can get you into trouble by eating too many! I apologize for the pictures of eaten food but I wanted to show the perfection of the cook on the steak...we ordered medium and it was perfect. The dish also came with lightly cooked mixed veggies, again...cooked to perfect crispy doneness! And the mixture was great with broccoli, cauliflower, peas, and red peppers. We split the steak in half and we both ate half of that portion so we had half a steak left over. We were so full and didn't get dessert. Service was spot on, efficient, and we loved talking with Jessica when she stopped by. Gave a shout out to the cooks in the kitchen on the way out and we also got an opportunity to talk briefly with the owner (gave Jessica a big shout out to him). Overall one of the best experiences and highly recommend this restaurant!

Francia and Jason were amazing! Well, we started our night with cornbread muffins that were delicious and then to a deep fried green bean appetizer that was also great my meal tonight was the pot roast that was cooked perfect. My husband got the ribeye with shrimp and aa friend ordered chickenCaesar salad. Everything was great. Service, food and atmosphere. Plenty of choices of different alcohol drinks.I WOULD RECOMMEND

Because I use the term "Hifalutin" all the time & we drove by this place, I knew we needed to try before leaving. We got there right around dinner time during the week and was asked if we had reservations (which we did not because we didn't even know about this place til we happened to drive by). Luckily they had room for the 3 (2 adults & 1 teenager) of us. The atmosphere was pretty cool and the service was attentive. Menu (including food & drink) items were plentiful & priced well. Lemon drop was tasty. While waiting, we got some blueberry cornbread muffins - which were delicious. The steak stuffed quesadillas & salsa/sour cream were shareable & very good. The meatloaf sandwich could also be shared - had great flavor. Too stuffed for dessert but had to checkout the menu nonetheless. The reviewer were mixed but we decided to give it a shot and glad we did. You should too

Fun ambiance and a very good wait service, but that is where my positive comments end. I had lunch outside on the lovely patio. I ordered the turkey club sandwich expecting sliced turkey, bacon, lettuce, etc. Maybe it is too much to expect 'real' turkey but the 3 thin slices of pressed turkey on the 'burnt' grilled white bread was very disappointing. $17. seems a incredibly high price for 2 slices of bread, pressed turkey slices, one piece of bacon and a lot of lettuce.

Tried this place for the first time after driving past it tons of times. The Western theme and decor was cute. Service was great. The food wasn't good but wasn't terrible either. For the price I expected better. We had the flank steak salad and cowboy ribeye. The steak on the salad only comes well done and was too salty, it tasted like shaved steak from the meat department at the grocery store. The crispy onions were stale and hard to chew. The cowboy ribeye is thin cut and was chewy. The mashed potatoes were delicious and so were the mini blue corn muffins. Sides for the steak are a potato, mashed or baked, and steamed veggies. Honestly, I can make a better steak at home. Won't return.

Let me get to the principal point! Recommend: Boy oh BOY do I!!Visited this restaurant twice in as little as a month, and traveled almost 45 minutes to get here. This restaurant is pricey, but I will note, you absolutely get EVERY dollar's worth as the food in ravishingly delectable, full plates no matter what you order and cooked to absolute perfection. Their customer service is beyond reproach, the owner is always walking about and the decorations throughout including the restrooms are impeccably unique to the southwest theme and charming particular points of interest like the saddle in the middle of the room. This restaurant exemplifies professionalism, remarkable taste and welcoming ambiance to an amazing degree. This has become, one of my TOP THREE restaurants in the Tucson area. You will not be disappointed!

I actually remember this word from my grandparents "Hifalutin" I always associated with a kind of rural and working class description of something high class or something with high class pretentious and sometimes ok as a descriptor and sometimes derogatory. In this restaurant's case, I think it's all positive.I've been many times and usually sit at the bar and enjoy the bar happy hour foods. They have a great Quesadilla with beef or chicken, potato skins,sometimes tacos, crispy cheese and sometimes bacon wrapped shrimp, They have nice house wines, some local beers on tap, excellent bourbon selection and my favorite Irish whiskey, my favorite salad is their cranberry apple, they have great sandwiches too, l love their turkey club, Of their pastas I like the tomato basil with grilled shrimp, I've had some companions that have enjoyed the main menu of steaks and meat loaf in pot roast.But I have not. I do recommend and have a look The staff were nice and helpful And it was a comfortable place.

Customer service at the host stand could use some work, especially for to go orders. If you have a to go order come in and wait it might be good to let the kitchen know they've arrived, instead of saying nothing and making them wait 15-20 minutes for one order. Please don't waste delivery driver's time by being lazy with to go orders and then displaying you're irritated because I asked again after waiting over 15 minutes. it takes less than a minute to ask about an order, do better.
