It was accidental that we ended up finding the Tucson food truck roundup on the side of the road and the big huge BBQ sign is what lured is in! We were a bit late as it looked like many had already packed up and left, but those that remained still had great choices. We ended up going with the Hellfire Pizza Truck. It had really cool graphics a clean look, and ultimately, the menu was confusing to me only because the choices ALL sounded so good I couldn't make up my mind! We got the Chuba Cabra. it had goat cheese, cilantro, mozzarella, red sauce, and chorizo. OMG it was killer good. I was roasting in hellfire goodness! It only took about 7-10 minutes, worth every minute, and penny! "Like" the Food truck roundup on facebook and you can see where Hellfire Pizza is going to be next!!

Tucson Arizona's first punk rock pizza truck. That is a pretty cool concept! Established in 2010 by Tucson native Justin Murdock. They specialize in pizza and sandwiches. When they were at The Shelter's food truck round up, he focused on pizza. I had the forsaken. The dough was crisp and thin. The sauce was a roasted garlic sauce (white). It was topped with Blue Cheese , apples, bacon, mozz and walnuts. It was a 10 inch pie. However, it takes 20-30 minutes per pie, so I suggest placing your order, then truck hop. The problem is, the oven looses heat each time it opens...and they can only cook a few pies at a time, but it's a food truck! Hellfire uses only natural cheeses and fresh sauces....nice. Have I had better pie, yes....but this is the first pie from a pizza truck, so props for that! I love the name too...cooking pizza in a food truck in the desert of Tucson, must be like Hellfire! A pie will run you 10 smackers. Don't forget the tip jar. Here is their menu:The TrinityFresh Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella Cheese over our Famous Pizza SauceThe Four HorsemenSausage, Pepperoni, Bacon, Meatball, Mushrooms, Onions and GarlicThe Red DragonGrilled Chicken, Bacon, Red Onion, Cheddar and Mozzarella Cheeses Spicy BBQ Red Sauce. I am so happy that my friends and I were sharing food at the last Food Truck Round Up. I got to savor a slice of their "Red Dragon" and a slice of the veggie pizza that I can't find the name of on their online menu. But that's ok, because that means I get to describe to you that the combination of thin pizza crust, fresh pizza sauce, mozzarella, pesto, green olives, and other veggies was a party in my mouth. This is by far one of my favorite veggie pizzas ever. Which is saying a lot, considering I order them wherever I go whenever I order pizza. As their sign says, their pizza is made fresh and cooked when you order it, so expect a 7-10 minute wait. My taste buds will be salivating excitedly during my next wait outside their window.

Ok I should start by saying Hellfire was alot better then I thought it would be. The pizza was well cooked, crispy but not burnt. The cheese was good quality, the sauce was tasty, and the red onions were fresh, and added just the right amount of crunch. Now I will explain why I only gaved them a 3. You see, I love mushroom pizza, it is my stand by, and I always order it. Hellfire has no mushrooms! When I asked why they told me they wern't "goumet" enough. Really? What makes pepperonis so much more gourmet? Then I asked if they would ever have them, or if I could call in a request, and they said no. I mean I get the idea of lifting pizza up to be something more gourmet, but it just came across as being snobby, towards my favorite topping. Maybe if mushrooms aren't good enough for Hellfire pizza, maybe I'm not either. I doubt I will buy from them again, since this experence left me feeling looked down apon.

I am a bit of a pizza snob, and I can safely say that hellfire is amazing! Simply amazing. First, the crust is perfect, which says a lot because it is cooked right there in the truck! No frozen or precooked crusts. The combination of sauce and toppings is phenomenal. There is something for everyone. My favorite is the forbidden fruit. As a side note, the guys running the truck are so awesome too. The one taking orders is always good for a conversation and the chef is super hot and nice (to me at least).

Eaten here twice. Both times was outside The Shelter on Grant Rd. Delicious! $8 pizza seems fair for what you get.Interesting flavor combinations that all seem to work. I've tried 4 of their pies and they are all tasty.

I was able to try out Hellfire Pizza at the latest Foodtruck Round-up and I must say what a great addition to the round-up. My husband and I tried the Chupacabra which had mozzarella, red sauce, goat cheese, green chilie, and chorizo. I must say it was pretty tasty, although a little heavy on the cheese and very light on the chorizo. The goat cheese offered a creamy bite with a smooth texture that perfectly complimented the other spices. My husband said one of his slices had a little extra chorizo and was just perfect, I kind of envied that. The price at $7 a pizza is a steal. I'll definitely be back at the next round-up.
